Fluttershy, the recently ascended alicorn of Kindness, was taking care of the animals still at her home.
She sighed in contentment. After all of the chaos of the adventure she had been on, she needed this. A little time away from searching for nascent alicorns was just what the doctor ordered. She was practically glowing as she moved through the area, taking care of each animal in turn.
At length, she was eventually finished She stood on a hill, looking over her miniature realm. And she sighed happily. "Ahh.... naure is so wonderfukl. Thiis was what I missed the most while I was away."
Her pet, Angel Bunny, hopped over to her. <'We missed you too, Fluttershy. I missed you. Pleeeeease don't leave us again?'>
"You know I can't promise that, Angel. Who knows when something could- "
Suddenly, a small rift opened and out of it popped a yellow and black spotted cat with a red ribbon on her tail floating on a platform that was hovering in the air.
"-come up." Fluttershy finished.
<'HELP! We need your help!'> the kitten exclaimed.
"Why? What happened? Who are you, anyway?"
An arm with a speaker lowered from the playform.
"Allow me to explain. I am Maisy(1), and I come from Kitten Island. We've been under siege by pesky aliens from another planet!"
Fluttershy raised an eyebrow. "Isn't that -by definition- what makes them aliens?"
The kitten on the platform actually blushed.
"Er, yyyyes. But that's beside the point! They've kidnapped most of my friends."
"Oh dear!" Fluttershy exclaimed,
"We don't know why they're doing this, but we're in danger! I used an artifact that we have, which sought out the most eligible candidate to aid us. Will you help?"
Fluttershy clacked her front hooves together. "I'll do it! Just a moment!"
Reaching into one of the saddlebags she was wearing, she brought out a compact kit and opened it, exclaiming, "Conference call!"
Immediately, the compact mirror grew to become a full length mirror in front of her. Within the different facets were the five of her best friends.
Twilight was the first to speak. "What's wrong, Fluttershy?!"
Fluttershy stepped aside to admit the hovring kitten to the conversation. Having already analyzed their language from Fluttershy's first words, the speaker dropped down again.
"We're in a mess of trouble over on Kittten Island. Your friend was kind enough to volunteer her aid."
While the other four were stunned, Twilight was in full nerd mode. "Amazing! A fully functional antigravity generator! With a self-autonomous translation protocol built in? Fascinating!"
Rainbow Dash deadpanned, "In laymare's terms, please, egghead?"
Twilight rolled her eyes. "It's a floating platform that automatically translates languages as just one of its functions."
"Oh."
Fluttershy spoke, "They're being captured by a bunch of aliens and they need my help! I won't be able to go on any missions for a while."
"But darling! There are still more alicorns to find! Equestria needs you too!"
"Maybe so, but that's more important than urgent. These kittens need my help now! I can't -I WON'T- leave them high and dry in their time of need! That would violate everything that I am!"
Twilight processed this and returned to Fluttershy with a smoldering look. she spoke with a voice that showed a hint of the blazing fury that the purple mare currently was feeling. "Do it. Save those kittens! And kick those aliens to the curb."
Fluttershy returned a similar look. She spoke her next words with such cold fury that a normal pony might burst into flameon the spot. "Oh, believe me. I intend to."
It would be said that at that moment, every pony remotely talent-linked to animals bowed. When asked why later, they would say that it was just the thing to do.
Rarity herself took on a more determined countenance. "I'll send a few of my best through, dear. You might recognize them; they're experts in defemse, relaxation and design. I'm sure that they'll be of use."
Three mares stepped onto the scene.
"Octavia? Aloe? Lotus?"
The three mares bowed briefly. Aloe was the first to speak. "Ve are at your shervice, prinzess."
Fluttershy smiled and said, "Glad to have you. Alright, listen. We have an island full of adorable creatures that need saving. I'll need your help to take care of them. Can I count on you?"
The trio bowed again. "You can, Princess Fluttershy." they said in unison. They the stepped through the gateway (with aid of Rarity's magic).
With that, they marched through the portal, off on a new adventure.
