The sun shined through a crack in the curtain and straight on Luna’s face, she tried to cover her face with her blanket, but she couldn’t find it. “Alright already, I’m up.” She sat up and rubbed her eyes. She then had look around the room and notice something. “Hey, this isn’t my room.” The hole room was backwards. ‘This must be James room.’ She then heard someone sleeping, lying on the bed was Bulbasaur and he was sleeping peacefully. Luna couldn’t help but smile, he look so cute sleeping.
Back to the room. She must have fallen asleep last night after she went to talk to James and he let her sleep here. She then saw her bag on one of the chairs. ‘I guess that he took my room.’ She just shrugged it off and went to the bathroom to do her thing.
Bulbasaur was sleeping, dreaming about food, he was about to take a bite of a cake, when he did the cake disappeared and was replaced with running water. Bulbasaur opened his eyes and saw that he was in a different room then yesterday, he looked around to see if he could spot Luna, she wasn’t there. He then heard water running, she was probably showering. He stood up all four and started to stretch each leg, he did that until he could fell them again. He then sat down and waited for Luna was done.
Twenty minutes later, Luna emerge from the bathroom. She saw Bulbasaur that fallen asleep again, this time while sitting. She could help but smile and laugh a little when she saw it, she went over to and tap on his head, he woke up. He blinked a couple times until he could see again, he saw Luna smile at him. “Want to get some breakfast?” She asked him. He nodded, breakfast sounds good.
When they arrived in the main hall, they didn’t see James anywhere. “Luna?” She looked at the voice, it was nurse Joy.
She walked over to her. “Yes, nurse Joy.”
“James is over by the phones, he said he would call Joshua about something.” She then grabbed something behind the desk, she took out a plate with a baguette and a class of water. “Here, he bought this for you.” She gave it to Luna who didn’t hesitate to take them, she was hungry. “And for your Bulbasaur.” This time she took out a bowl with Pokémon food. “We have Pokémon food.” She watch as Bulbasaur haply took the bowl with is vines.
Luna gave Joy a smile. “Thanks, you don’t know what time it is?” Luna had no idea.
“Yes, it’s a couple of minutes past nine in the morning.” Joy told her.
Luna as shocked when she heard that, she didn’t think that she sleep that long, she usually are up at eight. There was nothing she could do about it now, what’s done is done. She walked over to one of the tables to eat her breakfast and Bulbasaur followed her.
She had just finished her food when she saw James walking towards her. “How are you felling?” He asked her when her reached the table.
“Fine, I guess. A little better then yesterday.” James nodded in understanding. “Why were you calling Joshua?” She had wondering about that ever since she heard it from Joy.
“I just wanted to talk about what a happened in the forest and that more people know about who you really are.”
“And?”
“He hasn’t told anyone about you.”
“Then how did Dirk know my true identity?” She asked in a worry tone.
“I don’t know, the only thing I can think of is that he managed to listen to the professor and Joshua conversations.”
Luna tilted her head to the side when she heard that. “Listen to their conversations? They can do that?”
James nodded. “With the right equipment, they can.” That was not the right thing to say.
When Luna heard that, she started to panic. “That means that there are others out there that knows where I am from and they probably want to capture me and do what to me, Gaia help me.” She pulled her legs up to her stomach and put her arms around them, then she started to cry.
James got up from his seat and walk over to her, he put and arm over her shoulder. “Luna, look at me.” She did with tears in her eyes. “I promise you that I will never let those who are after you to capture you, I give you my word that I will protect you.”
Somehow, James words made her relax. She could hear that he meant every word. “I believe you James, but it’s still scars me.”
“Believe me, I know how you fell. It has also happened to me.”
“What happened to you?” She asked in a curious voice.
James walked back to his seat. While he did that, Bulbasaur had listen to James and Luna. When he heard that bad humans was coming to capture Luna, he would also protect her. Then he stomach made some noise. First breakfast then protect her, he decided to finish eating.
While Bulbasaur eat, James told his story. “When I was in Unova, some people that called themselves team Plasma wanted to liberated Pokémon from humans.”
When Luna heard that she was shocked. “Why would they do that?”
James just shrugged his shoulders. “They claimed that humans are only hindrance to the lives and interests of Pokémon.”
Luna was now just confused. “But, doesn’t Pokémon chose if they want to come with the trainer that capture them? Why would these team Plasma liberated Pokémon?”
“I honestly don’t know, I guess that they thought it was wrong.” Luna felt sick, that humans wanted to separated Pokémon from their trainers, she couldn’t believe that humans like that existed. The world isn’t all black and white. She let James continued his story. “The battles against team Plasma became very violent and I got caught in an explosion, I ended up in the hospital and was in a coma for two weeks.” Luna put both hand on her mouth in shock. “I almost gave up being a trainer after that.”
“What made you keep going?”
James smiled a little. “My goal and my mother, she told me that the same thing happened to my father. It’s probably not the best motivation but it kept me going.”
Luna didn’t know what to think at the moment, she wanted to keep going but the event with Dirk out of her mind she knew it wouldn’t be easy. Then she remember something, Discord. When he started to create chaos in Equestria, she almost died thanks to him. She was the first one to react when he came to Equestria, Celestia told her that he was harmless, he wasn’t.
“You ok Luna?” James brought her back to real life by waving a hand in front of her face. “You spaced out there for a moment.”
“Yeah, I was just thinking.” She told him in a shaky voice.
He rubbed his forehead. “Look, if you want to quit, then I will respect your choice, there’s no shame in given up after what has happened to you.” He could see that she wasn’t sure, and he felt bad for her, she needed a distraction. He then had an idea. “Why don’t we have a battle? You know, to get your mind of what happened in the forest. You can finally ‘capture’ Bulbasaur and find out how strong he his.” He look over to the seed Pokémon. “Once he get’s his head out of the bowl.”
Luna had no idea why he said that but then she look at Bulbasaur who actually had his head in the bowl, he was running around in panic trying to get it off his head. She couldn’t help but giggle a little of what she saw. “Stop Bulbasaur and I will help you get the bowl of your help.” He gladly stop so Luna could remove the bowl. Once it was remove Luna couldn’t help but ask. “Did you get your head stuck by trying to lick the bowl?” Bulbasaur lowered his head in shame, the food was just so good. She patted his head. “Want to have battle against James?” That made the seed Pokémon smile, he wanted to have a battle. “As long as he doesn’t use a really powerful Pokémon.” She told James while looking at him with narrows eyes.
“Hey, I know better than do that.” He put a hand on his chest. “That hurt me.” He said in a mocked voice, Luna just rolled her eyes of what he said. “Don’t worry, I already swap my Pokémon, so you don’t have to worry about that.” He got up. “Why don’t you make a call to Joshua and make the switch while I make sure that the battle field behind the center is available.” He started to walk toward the back door.
While he did that, Luna and Bulbasaur walked towards the phones. After dialling the number to Birch’s lab, Joshua answered. “Luna, what can I do for you?” He said with a smile.
“Hey Joshua, is it ok that I send you Misdreavus?”
Joshua couldn’t help but tilt his head in confusion. “Sure, but why?”
Luna bent down and picket up Bulbasaur. “This is why.” When Bulbasaur saw Joshua, he tried to touch him with one of his wines, he only hit glass.
Joshua saw when he saw the Pokémon. “Have you caught yourself a Bulbasaur?”
Luna rubbed her neck. “Not yet, I found him in the part of the forest that is sealed off, where violent grass Pokémon lives. He doesn’t trust humans yet and that’s why I haven’t caught him yet.”
While they were talking, Bulbasaur was still toughing the screen with his wine. Until Luna told him to stop, he will never understand humans.
Joshua nodded in understanding. “That makes sense, don’t worry, just send me Misdreavus.” Luna put Misdreavus Pokéball where is should and then Joshua pressed some buttons and the Pokéball was on it’s way. “Alight, I have Misdreavus Pokéball.” He shoved Luna the ball.
Luna smiled when she saw that. “Thanks Joshua, talk to you another time.” She ended the call before he could say anything ells. She then just started at the screen. ‘Maybe I was a little rude at him, I will apologize to him next time I see him.’ She then put Bulbasaur down on the floor, she then took out a new Pokéball. “Ok Bulbasaur, time to male it official.” She showed it to the seed Pokémon who wasn’t sure what to do, he didn’t know what to do. “You have nothing to be afraid off, it’s perfectly safe.” She told him with an assuring smile.
Bulbasaur wasn’t sure if liked the idea of begging in a ball but he trust Luna, eventually he touch it and he became a red light and disappeared into the Pokéball, then Luna saw the ball wiggled three time and came the click. She had caught him. ‘How does that work?’ She wondered while looking at the Pokéball, she have to ask professor Birch next time she saw him.
“It’s looks like you are sticking around.”
That voice scared her and made her lose Bulbasaur Pokéball, she managed to catch it before it hit the floor. She look at the person who scared her and saw a human with black and white hair, it was Libre and he was leaning against the wall with his arms crossed near the phones.
“Libre, are you trying to give me a heart attack?” He just shrugged his shoulders. “What are you doing here? I thought that you were going home?”
“Not yet, I am in a world with Pokémon, it’s a dream come true.” He then rubbed his hands like a mad scientists, he also started to laugh a creepy laugh.
Luna couldn’t help but wonder what was wrong with him. “You are a weird pony.”
That got him to look at her with confusion. “I’m not a pony.” He told her.
Now it was her turn to be confused. “What do you mean that you’re not a pony? You said yesterday that you were the alicorn of chaos and harmony.”
He got of the wall. “No, what I gave you was a title, I never said that I actually was a pony.” Luna tried to come up with something to argue with of what he just said, but he was right, he never said that he was a pony. “I am human, I only got these powers thanks to your sister.”
That got Luna to react. “What? My sister hasn’t done anything to you.”
Libre slapped a hand on his forehead. “Right, wrong sister. I sometimes forget, your sister but in a different Equestria.” He started to rub his head. “I have been in so many that I mix them together.”
When Luna heard that, she had to ask him something. “How many different Equestria does exist?”
Libre thought for a moment. “I’m not sure, I lost track after a while. There just so many, I even found an Equestria where Fox McCloud was one of the elements of harmony and I am pretty sure I saw MewTwo in one of them.”
Luna did not know who this Fox was or who this MewTwo was, but MewTwo sounded like a Pokémon. That was not her question. “If you have been in different Equestria, is there an Equestria where I wasn’t send to the moon?”
He put a hand to his cheek. “Yeah, a few. Why do you ask?”
“Are they happy.”
He smiled. “Yes, they are.” That made her smile. “Now if you will excuse me, I’m going to find some Pokémon and don’t worry, I’m going to delay your sister.” He then started to run towards the exit laughing like a mad man. Luna could just watch these weird man. The only thing she could do was to shrugged it off and walk to the back door.
Once there, she could see James waiting for her, he was sitting on one of the benches. He was resting his arms on his legs while looking down on the ground, he look up when he heard Luna approached him. “Did everything work out ok with Bulbasaur?” He asked her, she just smile at him. “Alright then, let’s get this battle started.” They walked to each side of the field and got ready. James was up first. “Let’s do this Buizel.” Out came a Pokémon Luna had never seen before.
It was standing on two legs, it was orange but was white on it stomach, it had blue fins on it arms and a lifebuoy around it’s neck. She took out her Pokédex.
Buizel the sea weasel Pokémon. It swims by rotating its two tails like a screw. When it dives, its flotation sac collapses. It inflates the flotation sac around its neck and pokes its head out of the water to see what is going on.
Luna took a closer at the data. “Wait a minute, Buizel is a water type.” She look a t James with some irritation. “Why are you given an advantage?”
“Yes, I am given you an advantage because this is Bulbasaur first battle but don’t worry, this battle won’t be easy.” He told her whit a smile.
Luna didn’t understand why he said that, right now she had to focus on the battle. She took out Bulbasaur’s Pokéball and threw into the air, Bulbasaur emerge with a flash. He started to look around and started to get nervous, he was started to regret to that battle when he saw his opponents who was beaming with confident. He started to back away from them.
Bulbasaur eventually bump into Luna’s legs, she bent down. “Listen Bulbasaur, I know that you are nervous and believe me I know how you fell. I was nervous in my first battle but when it started all that nervousness disappeared and remember.” He look at her. “I am right beside you.” That wasn’t right, but he understand what she meant, he went back out but was still a little nervous.
Once he was out there, James decided to speak. “I know that a lady should start but I want to know how you react to this, Buizel use bubble beam.” Bubble came out from Buizel mouth and head towards Bulbasaur.
When Bulbasaur saw those bubble, he froze. He didn’t even hear Luna call out an attack, he was hit by the attack. the attack didn’t hurt that much but it was still painful. “Bulbasaur, why didn’t you move?” She asked in a worried voice.
James on the other hand, knew what the problem was. “I think Bulbasaur is scared.” He told her while scratching his cheek. Buizel was surprise, he hadn’t been in many battles, but this was the first time he had seen a scared opponent.
Luna walked over to him and bent down. “Bulbasaur, you need to calm down. Take a few deep breaths.” He did as she said. “Better?” He nodded slowly. “Good, now let’s win this.” She went back to where she should standing and got ready.
“I guess they are ready, use bubble beam again Buizel.” He used the same attack again.
“Use vine whip to knock those bubbles away.” Bulbasaur did as she said and managed to knock all of them away.
James was impressed of what he saw. “Not bad. Now, let’s see how you handle this, use aqua jet.” All off sudden, Buizel was surrounded by water and headed towards Bulbasaur in blistering speed.
Both Luna and Bulbasaur was surprised by how fast Buizel was, Bulbasaur had no time doge the attack. He slide back a little, while Buizel flew back a little thanks to attack. “Shake it off Bulbasaur and use razor leaf.” Leaf’s came out from Bulbasaur back, Buizel who was in the air had no where to go and was hit by the attack. He landed on the ground near James, hard.
“You ok Buizel?” Buizel managed to get up, but he was in pain. “Alright, let’s how they handle this, use rain dance.” Buizel fired a ball up in the air and all off sudden, it started to rain.
Luna didn’t understand why did that, she knew that rain dance boost water moves but that’s all, she decide to attack. “Use razor leaf again.” Bulbasaur send out more leaf’s towards Buizel.
James just smiled. “Doge the attack.” Just as the attack was to hit Buizel, the sea weasel Pokémon disappeared in a blink of an eye.
When Luna saw that her eyes became big a dinner plates and Bulbasaur’s mouth fell to the ground. “How did Buizel move that fast?” She had no idea, so she decide to ask.
“It’s called swift swim, it’s Buizel ability and it’s doubles he’s speed when it’s raining. Try hitting him now.” James said a lot of confident in his voice. This was bad for Luna, her opponent was twist as fast because of the rain but she knew that rain dance disappeared after a couple of turns. “Use ice punch.” Luna’s eyes widen again when she heard that.
“Doge it Bulbasaur.” He tried but it was too late, thanks to his speed Buizel was already in front of him, Bulbasaur was hit by the attack and took damage. Bulbasaur flew back a little and landed in front of Luna. “Are you okay Bulbasaur?” She asked in a concern voice. He managed to get up, but he was in pain. “Let’s see if you can handle this, use sleep powder.” Blue spores came out from his seed, but it disappeared as fast. “What’s going on?” She had no clue why that attack failed then she look up and then it dawn on her. “The rain, it’s changeling the attack.”
“That’s right, let’s end this. Use ice punch again Buizel.” Buizel hand started to glow in white and then he started to run towards Bulbasaur.
Luna had to do something, she had to stop Buizel’s movement somehow. She look at the battle field and she got an idea. “Use vine whip on the ground Bulbasaur and make a zigzag pattern.” Bulbasaur wasn’t sure why but he did it anyway, he did as Luna said and as Luna thought, Buizel managed to trip on them. Buizel fell face first on the ground. “Quickly, use razor leaf.” Bulbasaur send out leaf towards Buizel.
“Get out of the way Buizel.” It was no use, Buizel could only see the attack coming towards him, he didn’t managed to get up in time to doge the attack. He was hit so hard that he flew backward and landed on the ground, unconscious. Even he lost, James couldn’t help but smile. He called back Buizel. “Nice work, you deserve a rest.” He went over to Luna and Bulbasaur who was just happy they won. “Nice win, you surprised when you used Bulbasaur’s vine whip like that.” He told her.
“Thanks.” Then the rain stopped. “I wish that you didn’t use rain dance, my clothes are all wet.” Then Bulbasaur decided to shake of the water like a dog would, he managed to soak the two humans even more. “Thanks, Bulbasaur, I needed that.” Luna said with sarcasm. They decided to head inside to chance clothes.
Nurse joy had one of those rear moment in her life, she had nothing to do. No injured Pokémon, nothing to do. She liked those moments. She was happy read a book when James and Luna walked in, she looked over her book when she heard the door open. “James.” She put the book down. “I have note for you and Luna from professor Birch.” She held out a piece of pater.
James took the note. “Thanks, do you know what he want?”
Joy shock her head. “No, he told me that you and Luna should call the number on the note, that’s all.”
James and Luna thought it was a little strange and the only way to find out what the professor wanted was to call the number. “Thanks, we will do that.” Joy smiled at them and went back to her book, while James and Luna want to the phones.
Once there, James dialled the number, which he didn’t recognize. It didn’t take long before Birch answered. “James, Luna, I am so glad to see you two.” He then notice their clothes. “Why are you two wet?”
“A battle, rain dance, don’t ask.” James told him.
Birch couldn’t help but chuckle a little. “I understand, anyway. I can see that you got my note.”
“Yeah, is there something you want professor?” James asked him.
“Yes, I have been inspired by professor Rowen in Sinnoh and decided to open my own Pokémon Summer school and I was hoping that you two would participate.” He told them both with a big smile on his face, but that disappeared when he saw that they both look at him with normal faces. “Don’t you both get existed right away.” He told them with sarcasm.
James decide to speak. “Sorry professor, I guess we didn’t knew what to think. I have heard about this school but never gone to it and I guess it sounds a little exciting.” He looked over to Luna “What do you think?”
She decided to ask a question. “Just what are we going to do at this school professor?”
He smiled again. “For one week where are going to have some fun with Pokémon, you are going to learn about some Pokémon and even have some battles, you are also going to meet at lot of different people who are there to learn and have fun. I have already invited Ace, Shadow and Aura. So, what do you two say?”
James wasn’t entire sure but Luna, she was excited. “That’s sounds like fun, let’s do this James.”
He scratch his head. “Alright, I don’t see why. Just where is this school?” He asked Birch.
“It’s not far from Fortree City, you have coordinates on the paper.” James turned the paper around and there was some coordinates. “The school starts in two week, see you there.” Before they could say anything ells, Birch hang up.
I guess they are going back to school.
