It’s lunchtime at Canterlot High School. Twilight Sparkle and her friends were trying to have lunch. Sunset Shimmer saw that they were upset about something, and went over to help them out.
“Something wrong, Twilight?” Sunset asked.
“There sure is.” Twilight answered. “The pop quiz Mr. Cranky Doodle sprang on us.”
Fluttershy was shivering, holding on to Applejack.
“That caught us off guard.” Applejack said nervously. “It was a big shock. Especially for Fluttershy here.”
“I don’t usually show fear.” Rainbow Dash added. “But, even I got scared.”
“Hearing the phrase ‘POP QUIZ’ gets me jittery.” Pinkie Pie quivered. “Look at Rarity.”
Rarity was shaking. She was almost ready to cry. Sunset felt bad for all six of them. “Wow! Talk about a stress attack.”
“I know.” Twilight replied. “I hope we’ll get over this.”
Later that day, school ended, and everyone was packing up for the weekend.
“Hey, Twi.” Sunset shouted. “How did that pop quiz turn out?”
“Actually,” Twilight informed, “we all passed. But, we sure got the shock of the day.”
As the students left the school, Sunset got on her phone, and called for someone special. “Hello, Lotus. It’s Sunset. I wonder if you can do me a favor.”
The following morning, around 6:45am, the six friends arrived at a beautiful house, wearing exercise clothes.
“429 Starbeam Avenue.” Fluttershy uttered. “This is it.”
“Are you sure about this, Twi?” Rainbow Dash wondered.
“Of course, Rainbow.” Twilight answered. “This is the address Sunset gave us last night. And, suggested we come here.”
“And also,” Rarity added, “we come over here wearing exercise clothes.”
Applejack stretched since it’s early morning. “When I showed Sunset my outfit, she thought it looks good. Thank Celestia for FaceTime.”
“I think you’re right.” Rainbow Dash said. “You and I do look good in shorts.”
Rarity looked at Fluttershy’s wardrobe. “You look very comfortable, Fluttershy.”
“Thank you, Rarity.” Fluttershy praised. “Not many people wear long sleeve shirts and Capri style exercise pants together often.”
“That’s what I figured.” Twilight added. “So, I’m sporting that look too.”
Then, a lovely woman with deep teal hair called to them from the backyard gate. “Hello, Rainbooms. Nice to meet you.”
Rarity recognized the woman. “It’s Sunset’s yoga teacher, Lotus Blossom.”
“Wow!” Pinkie chirped. “I heard of her.”
Rainbow Dash figures out something. “Did we get invited to do yoga?”
“I guess so.” Twilight answered. “And, it looks like we’re doing yoga in her backyard. Follow me.”
The six friends went into the backyard. They were impressed with the size of it. A swimming pool, patio furniture, and a barbecue area. They then saw another door.
They opened the door, and saw what looks like an outdoor exercise area. There, Lotus Blossom was waiting.
“Hello, Girls.” Lotus greeted. “I’m glad you’re here.”
The girls came to a brick layered area. Then, they greeted the yoga instructor.
“Pleasure to meet you, Miss Blossom.” Twilight said. “So, why are we here?”
“I’m glad you asked, Twilight.” Lotus replied. “Sunset Shimmer called me yesterday, and told me what happened.”
“About the pop quiz?” Applejack yelped. “Yeah. That quiz had us as jittery as a jackrabbit.”
“That’s what I thought, Applejack. So, she suggested that I help you out this morning.”
“You mean we’re going to have a yoga class with you?” Rainbow Dash wondered.
Lotus placed her hands to her heart. “That’s right, Rainbow Dash. A good session with me, and you six will be okay.”
The girls looked at each other, and all agreed.
“Very well, Miss Blossom.” Rarity confirmed. “It’s worth a try.”
“Excellent.” Lotus praised. “I brought six yoga mats. One for each of you. Grab one and we can get started.”
The girls each grabbed a yoga mat, unrolled them, took off their footwear, and are ready as Lotus puts on soothing music. Proper for yoga exercises. Applejack put her hat aside as Lotus addressed the girls. “Okay, girls. Let’s begin.”
The group started with sun salutations. Then, moved on to the sequence Lotus chose. Some of the balancing poses looked challenging. But, two of the girls eased into them. Some of the girls enjoyed some of the poses.
After the session, the girls sat cross legged on their mats as Lotus discusses their session.
“I’m very proud of you all.” Lotus praised. “You’ve followed my moves calmly. Now, which of the poses do you find refreshing, and why? Let’s start with you, Applejack.”
“I think my favorite is the Tree Pose.” Applejack answered as she put her hat back on. “I was imagining myself as one of the trees back at my farm.”
Lotus found that interesting. “Good use of imagination. How about you, Fluttershy?”
Fluttershy gave a unique answer. “My favorite is Wide Child Pose. Good way to stop for a moment to rest up.”
Lotus liked the response. “Very good reason. You’re next, Pinkie Pie.”
“I like Downward Facing Dog.” Pinkie happily said. “Gives me a new point of view of things.”
Lotus quietly chuckled. “You are a lot of fun, Pinkie. Let’s turn to you, Rainbow Dash.”
“I think my favorite is Variation two of the Warrior Pose.” Dash responded. “Makes me feel like a fighter.”
Lotus is impressed with the answer. “That is a good response. How about you, Rarity?”
“I enjoyed what they call ‘Lord of the Dance’.” Rarity answered. “It feels like I’m in a ballroom.”
Lotus smiled. “Finally, what’s you’re favorite, Twilight Sparkle?”
Twilight thought about it for a moment. “I think I like Garland Pose. It’s a good way to work on the knees.”
“I’m proud of all of you.” Lotus praised. “Thank you for coming over.” She puts her hands to her heart in a prayer position. “Take care, my friends. Namaste.”
Lotus bowed to the six friends. In return, they bowed back to her. The next day, the Rainbooms meet in Sunset’s favorite coffee place.
“How was your yoga session?” Sunset asked.
“Very relaxing.” Twilight answered. “Now we know what you like about it.”
“Applejack and I are not usually into that stuff.” Dash said. “But, I think we have a change of mind of it. Yoga WAS a good idea.”
“Rarity and I find it soothing.” Fluttershy added.
“I think it’s fun.” Pinkie Pie chirped.
“That’s great.” Sunset responded.
Just then, Lightning Dust came in and charged up to Sunset.
“What are you up to, She-Demon?” Lightning Dust yelled angrily. “Haven’t you heard? Nobody trust you after that Fall Formal nightmare!”
Lightning continued to bad mouth Sunset until Limestone Pie came in to confront the hothead.
“You leave Sunset Shimmer alone or else!” Limestone stated.
“Oh, yeah?” Lightning asked in a nasty tone. “Or else, what?”
“I have your number on my smartphone. I can call and tell your mother what you’ve been doing!”
Lightning Dust got a bit worried and left. Sunset Shimmer was impressed. “Thanks for the save, Limestone.”
“No problem.” Limestone responded. She then turns to the other girls. “So long, you guys. Or, as they say in yoga, namaste.”
With a small bow, Limestone leaves the coffee place. Everyone was impressed.
“Well.” Pinkie Pie said. “My sister becoming calm. What a shock!”
Outside, Limestone felt a hint of calm in her nature.
“I’m glad I take Lotus Blossom’s evening class.” Limestone said to herself. “Good way to wind down before bedtime.”
