The pink alicorn rolled out of bed and landed on the floor, the lemon scent filling her nostrils. She got up and stretched, popping her wings. She shaked her head lightly to get her messy waves to straighten before walking downstairs. She poured herself some cereal into a ceramic bowl and sat down to eat. Soon,her aunt came downstairs. The purple princess poured herself some cofee and sat at the table. 
"Auntie Twi, I uh I adopted a foal",Flurry finally said breaking the silence. Twilight looked up suprised. She put her mug down, giving her neice a "Are you serious?" look. Flurry Heart was serious.
"Oh um,that's great helping the community and all that. It's just, I don't know if you're ready." Twilight had just added to the mare's greatest fear, plus Flurry hated dissapointing her aunt and it felt like she had done just that. Flurry got up, setting her half empty bowl of cereal on the counter before leaving. It was awkward tension, like the moment you don't know why you're tense, but you are. Flurry headed to the hospital, it was her first day as a mom!

Flurry knocked on the room door happily. Nurse Redheart opened it. It was decked out in blue and purple from the sheets to the curtains. Above the bed was a banner that read "HAPPY ADOPTION", in balloon letters. Rare Bloom had a huge smile on her face,she had a paper  crown on her head and was holding her Whammy. Flurry ran over to give her daughter a big hug.
"Can I call you Mama",the filly asked. 
"You can call me anything you like",the Alicorn answered. 
"I love you Mama" the filly said smiling. The princess coudn't keep the tears from falling. She was fully commited to her new daughter,no matter the obstacles.
