Ponies and Mons

Apples, puppies and a snake

Applejack awoke to the piercing brightness of the morning sun. She grumbled angrily for being woken up in the middle of her dream. She rolled over in her bed and came face to face with her dog, Winona. She smiled happily at the sleepy pony, her fur scruffy.

“Well, g’morning Winona, what’cha doin’ in ma room?” Applejack asked, stroking her soft fur. Winona barked and then padded out of the room. “Hey, where’re you goin’, Winona?” She got out of bed and followed her beloved pet, her body still aching from the previous day’s applebucking.

Winona, closely followed by Applejack, ran through the orchard. Every now and then, she stopped and sniffed the air so that she could keep track of where she was going, which turned out to be somewhere near a river.

“Winona, where are you goin’?” Applejack panted as she continued to pursue Winona, until the dog finally stopped, before chasing a strange red dog with black stripes that had appeared out of a bush. There were some apple cores laying around the bush, which suggested that the weird dog had stolen them.

“Hey! Get back here you thieving varmint!” Applejack called as she joined Winona in chasing the dog. The dog was a pretty good match against them, but it was a bit too fast for Applejack.

Suddenly, the red dog turned around and then broke into a run, dashing straight for Applejack. With speed and agility on its side, the dog leapt into the air, bounced off of Applejack’s head and then landed inside an apple tree. Then, to add insult to injury, it started to eat the juicy apples in the tree!

“You varmint!” Applejack was furious now. With her newfound rage, she kicked the tree as hard as she could and made the dog fall out. It landed face first into some mud around the base of the tree.

Winona walked up to the dog and smiled, panting from the fun chase they just had. Applejack looked pityingly at the red dog. “Maybe I could keep this little guy as a playmate for Winona when I’m out with my friends.” She thought.

“Aww, hey little guy, sorry about that, but I don’t take kindly to thieves on my farm.” Applejack said to the dog, unsure if it could even understand her. As she said this, Winona and the dog started playing and chasing each other around the tree. “Aww.” Said Applejack as she watched the cuteness before her. All was well, until the red dog yelped as it tripped and hurt its foot.

“Aww you little guy.” Applejack picked up the dog, which had surprisingly soft fur, even softer then pinkie pies candy floss hair, and took him back to the farm, to see what she could do.

She ran back as fast as possible, getting back to the farm as fast as possible, and going to the kitchen where she kept some first aid for winona when she got hurt from helping her on the farm.

she got out a bandage and some healing spray, which made winona move back a bit as it stung like a hundred bees on fire stinging you at the same time, but applejack placed her hat on winona, making her bark in happiness and started running around the house in excitement.

“Ahh she’ll be happy for a while, anyway back to you... right you don’t have a name.” the dog spoke sort of and said “growlithe” and applejack thought that would be a good name.

“Growlithe, that’s a funny name, but you’ll probably can’t understand a word i’m saying, can you little doggy?” Growlithe smiled and wagged its tail at Applejack, making Applejack herself feel happy about Growlithe understanding her, or at least a basic understanding.

She wrapped the bandage around Growlithes paw, making him wag his tail in happy delight, and set off around the house, searching for winona to play with around the house.

Applejack put away the first aid kit for dogs and sighed contentedly as she went outside to buck some of the apples off the trees.

She got a cart, a slightly old but still in good condition cart that she had used ever since she was able to buck apple tree’s but none the less, she brought the cart with her, and happily started to buck the apples out of the tree’s with her powerful kicks, knocking the first bunch of apples off the tree in only one kick, them all falling into the cart at the same time somehow.

She moved to the next tree and saw her little sister Applebloom trying to buck the tree, probably in the hundredth or so attempt to get her cutie mark. Applejack went over to her, kicked the tree and made all the apples fall, making apple bloom think that she kicked all the apples down, but Applebloom hear a whimper from in the tree.

“Big sis, tree’s don’t whimper, right?” Applebloom said scared and worried, looking into the tree and seeing some beady eye’s, which made Applebloom whimper a bit, before Applejack kicked the tree again but with more strength, sending from the tree a blue and white snake like creature fell from the tree, hitting the ground hard.

The snake looked around and saw the two ponies and hid behind the tree, scared they might hurt her further but Applebloom ran around and hugged the cute snake, making the snake ease up and smile happily at Applebloom, before seeing Applejack and whimper like a scared dog.

“Applebloom, be careful with that, it could be dangerous for you.” Applebloom paid no attention and continued to hug the snake saying “Aww you're so cute!” to the snake creature, hugging the cute little snake like a teddy bear, if the bear had no arms or legs of course.

“Can i keep her Applejack, i’ll look after her, keep her warm, and i might get my cutie mark because of her! please can i keep her, please?” Applebloom did some puppy dog eyes at Applejack, making her sigh in defeat, which to Applebloom pretty much meant “yes you can keep her” and smiled happily, inciting the snake to say “dratini” in a cute manner, making Applebloom squeak at how cute Dratini is, and Applejack to be surprised at seeing a talking snake.

Applebloom grabbed Dratini and went back home to play with her new friend, probably to play chase or fix up the little guy’s injuries from the tiny fall, but Applebloom liked her new pet snake, even though it looked nothing like a snake.

Applejack sighed happily, before seeing winona and Growlithe chasing each other in the distance, making her happy that winona had gotten a buddy to play with while she worked and spent time with her friends, it made her happy knowing that.
