//------------------------------// // Chapter the Friends (Part 1) // Story: Family Disclosure Protocol // by TerribleSpeller //------------------------------// Twilight sat on her throne fidgeting. This was the day. The day she revealed to her friends about what she does in the dark. Earlier she had invited them to gather at the throne room of friendship powahhhh (named appropriately by Rainbow Dash), as she told them she wanted to tell them something big, huge. That was a couple of hours ago. Now she was simply waiting for them. The sound of a door opening and the sound of faint chatting in the distance interrupted Twilight's thoughts, she looked up to see her friends entering the Throne Room, and as they entered, Applejack was first one to speak up. "Hey Twi, wha-" Before being interrupted by Rainbow Dash. "Twi, can you tell us why did you decided to interrupt my amazing flight practice?" Asked Rainbow Dash while flying around the Throne Room before settling unto her throne seat thing. Twilight looked around the throne room at all her friends seated around the Friendship Map (of detecting ponies who don't want to have friends), and sighed. Twilight casted a spell on the room to make sure no evasdropper would hear on their conversation. "Dear, why are you casting a spell?" Asked Rarity It is a known fact that unicorns could detect another unicorn casting a spell, as when an unicorn casts a spell, the thamuthergic, you know what, that's too technical, in layman terms, when an unicorn casts a spell, they suck the magic juice in the air and use it to cast their spell, some ponies, like Twilight, could take in more magic juice to power more magic consuming spells. But when you take magic juice from the air, you create a vacuum where the magic juice was earlier, causing magic juice to flow to lower magic juice areas, and other unicorns could feel this, hence why Rarity knows that Twilight is casting a spell. "Becuase what I'm about to tell you cannot leave this room," replied Twilight. "And what is this thing you are about to tell us that is soooooo important you had to cast a spell in this room?" Asked Rainbow, a bit irritated due to her flight practices being interrupted. "Be-Becuase," Twilight stuttered, "Becuase..." "C''mon spit out, Sugarcube, " said Applejack. "We're yer friends, you could tell us anything!" "Yeah Twilight! We'll Pinkie Promise if you want us to!" Cheered Pinkie Pie, ever so cheerful, thought Twilight. "D-don't worry Twilight, we'll always be here for you..." Said Fluttershy. Twilight smiled at her friends support for her, she looked around once more before continuing, "Girls, we've known each other for over three years now, right?" "Well duh, egghead," said Rainbow, "shouldn't you know this? Since your the one who pays attention to calendars and stuff?" "Right, Rainbow, now I'm gonna tell you all a secret," said Twilight, " a secret so big, you must do the Pinkie Promise," After doing the Pinkie Promise, with Pinkie reminding them that breaking it would mean losing a friend "FORRRRRRRRREEEEEEVVVEEERRRRR!", right thank you Pinkie. Twilight continued, "Well, the secret I wanted to tell you is this," Twilight levitated her Foundation Identification Card unto the table so everypony could see it. On the left side of the card was her photo, with her respective title on it, SENIOR RESEACHER, LEVEL-3 CLEARANCE The SCPF logo sitting proudly on it, clear for all who want to see. "Is this it?" Asked Rainbow Dash, "you called us all here, just for this?!" "Now clam down Sugarcube," said Applejack, restraining Rainbow to her seat with her lasso, "there is more to this, isn't there Twi?" "Yes AJ, other than being Princess, ever since I was 18, I've been working for an underground organization which job is to protect the world from scary monsters that don't abide to the laws of nature or magic," said Twilight, "and-" "So, what you're telling me is, you're working for some secret service that contains monsters? Sounds like a joke to me really dear," said Rarity. "Yeah! I mean, why would you ever work for such an organization, we deal with meanies every episode!" Said Pinkie. "Sugarcube, if this is a joke, I don't really see where the funny part is," added Applejack, "I mean, if this was to prank us, then it's a pretty lame prank Twi," said Rainbow. "Well, I knew you guys would say that," said Twilight, "that's why I brought a pet over," "Really a pet Twi?" Said Rainbow, "How could a pet..." Rainbow's comment was derailed to moment she saw a cat appear from behind Twilight's throne, nothing out of the ordinary could be seen on the cat except the fact that the back half of the cat was gone. Twilight levitated the cat unto the throne so that everypony could see it. After several moments of silence, Fluttershy was the first one to speak up. "Umm, is it ok?" Asked Fluttershy, "I mean, half of the cat's body is gone!" "Don't worry about it, Joise's quite fine really," replied Twilight, "plus she doesn't bite," 'Joise' walked over to Fluttershy, who cautiously petted the cat. After that Rarity spoke up. "How, is that possible exactly dear?" Asked Rarity, " I mean, half of its body's gone and I may not know much of cat anatomy but surely it should be dead!" "Yes, it should be dead, but it's not. We did every test and it's still alive, just don't touch the back part of it or she'll scratch you," Pinkie placed her hoof on where the cat's tail should be but found that there was nothing to be touched behind the cat. "It must be sad for the cat to not have a back half, I mean I'll be sad, since I can't see my cutie mark, then I would have never ever tried party planning or-" Pinkie was cut off by Applejack shoving her hoof into her mouth. "So, this ain't a prank?" Asked Applejack. "No, no it isn't," said Twilight, "and this isn't even to weridest thing we have contained," "Wait, so there are more cute animals like this?" Asked Fluttershy, "Ehh...probably, i don't have clearance to the entire database, but I'm pretty sure there are more, but there are more scary things than cute," "What do you mean Twi?" Twilight began sweating. "W-well, you see, we...the Foundation, that's the name of the organization I work for by the way, we contain things and creatures that don't abide to the laws of nature and magic, and well... most of them are terrifying, weird and want to kill you," Twilight took a moment to observe the faces of her friends. Fluttershy was now hiding in her mane, Rarity's face had turned to shock and was on the verge of fainting, Rainbow was... Unidentifiable, Applejack was worried and Pinkie's face was of thought, as if she was recalling a memory. Twilight coughed before continuing, " Other than that, we have plain weird things we never understood, like Joise here, and a key that could open every door-" "Cool!" Interrupted Rainbow, "then I could sneak into Aj's barn and prank her more!" Rainbow then proceeded to rub her hooves together like a villain. Applejack thought in horror of what Rainbow could do with that kind of power before Twilight continued, "Yeah...no, SCP-005 is not to be used for opening any doors for pranking Rainbow. And-" Before Twilight could continue, Rainbow interrupted her once more, "Wait, why did you call that awesome key SCP-005, is that some sort way for you o sort through things?" "Yes, Rainbow, it stands for Secure Containment Procedures, and every SCP has its own containment procedures, we rank them from Safe up to Apollyon. Safe means it can be easily contained, like, putting it in a box and locking it, after that it's Euclid, which means it's like trying to keep you in a room, where you actively try to escape and we have to keep an eye on you to prevent you from escaping. Then Keter which means it's very hard to contain, and Apollyon which means it cannot be contained, and you should start running, and not look back," Silence enveloped the Throne Room after Twilight finished her explaination, after a few moments, Applejack spoke up. "Uhh...Sugarcube, how much of t'ose SCPs exist?" "Yeah...how much dear... I mean, you've worked with them for over several years now, I mean, how much of this...things exist?" Quipped Rarity. Twilight closed her eyes in thought, after several minutes she spoke up again, "From my experience, I can guarantee you 158 SCPs exist since I've met and saw them in person before, but there are others, from conservative estimates ranging around a thousand to four thousand, do absurd estimates going up to tens of thousands," "So...there could be thousands of things that are unexplainable running around?" Asked Fluttershy, who was still petting Joise. "Yes, and before I was rudely interrupted," Twilight shot Rainbow a glare, "other than a key that could open doors, there many, many other things out there that want to kill you, some things I could tell you are like SCP-173, a monster which could only move when you blink, and before you say anything Rainbow, when you try not blinking for two minutes and running from this thing, you cannot just punch it, since it's made of stone, and if it gets you, it breaks your neck. Then there's SCP-914 which is just a machine that if you put something it, set it to one of five options, it will either break the thing apart, replace it, or upgrade it. And Rarity don't try finding a way to let you in there so you could upgrade your dresses Becuase last time we tried that, it almost killed us," Twilight stopped to see most of her friends have understood what things she had done in the Foundation, she thanked Campbell for her advice of not mentioning the D-Classes. "Now, since I've told you of my job, you are all Level-0 Personnel, a type of personnel who knows the Foundation and what it does, what role I do in it, and that's it, and-" "Wait, wait, wait," interrupted Rainbow, "why can we only know that much, I mean you already told us some of those SCPs, but why cant you tell us all of them?" "I think that's my job to tell you why," said a voice from a door.
