//------------------------------// // Chapter Six: Dancing under the Moonlight // Story: Late Night Job // by Crystal Night //------------------------------// "Can you actually eat?" - asked Sugar. "Well, I can try." The yellow pony simply giggled. "Then that's a no." "Yep." She grabbed one slice of pizza, before Bonnie could say anything else, it was already gone. "You don't eat pizza, you devoured it." The light blush didn't go unnoticed by Bonnie. "Maybe I was just a little hungry?" "Enjoy yourself then." The two sat in absolute silence, Bonnie at this point didn't know what to say or do. The beginning of the dinner seemed to be going well but now what? "Hmm," - that got her attention. "So, what do you do when you're not here?" "You mean in my spare time?" - he nodded. "Mmm, not much really, sometimes I just like to lay in my couch and watch TV while I'm eating popcorn covered in exotic butter." Sugar grabbed another slice. "Other times I go out for a walk or hang out with my friend." "Who's your friend?" The robot leaned closer, placing his elbows on the table while his chin rested on his hands. "Pinkie Pie, or Pinkie for short. Now that I think about it, she loves parties, I bet you guys would like her. All she thinks is throwing parties, even for the smallest of things." "Maybe one day we will meet her. Have you told her about your job?" The yellow pegasus gasped, she completely forgot to tell her. Honestly her life took a big turn in the last couple of days. A letter was in order to send. How could she simply forget that? "Sugar, you ok? Something wrong?" She shook her head. "Nothing much, besides the fact I forget to tell my friend I have a job now..." "She's not going to dislike or hate you for that, if that is your fear." "How can you tell?" "Simple, she's your friend." He boop her noose, each earned him a light blush from the pony. "I'm sure if you explaining, she'll understand." "Oh ok. I guess you're right." Bonnie smiled, mostly to himself. The dinner was going smoother now. He enjoyed seeing her cute look, especially when she was blushing. It made his circuits sparkle. "Bonnie can I ask you something?" "Of course you can." "Do you have feelings? I know you're basically a robot but how does that work?" Well it was a rather curious question really. They never got the chance to ask their maker about that, he only knew one thing for certain though. "Magic." - he said it casually. "Um, just that? I know magic can do a lot but still, there's more to that right?" "I wish I could answer your question, but I really have no idea. We never asked." Sugar grabbed a cup of orange juice and drank it all. "That also means you can feel love right?" "Yea, well I can, among other things." - he scratch his head, looking away from Sugar. The yellow pegasus had a slight suspicion, but she couldn't guess what it was, at least not yet. The way he was acting around her was odd, yet funny and she was growing to like him more and more. One of the few reasons why Sugar was starting to like this job, also she couldn't forget the rest of her new friends. Time slowly went by while they kept talking, and even laughing once in a while. Meawhile they were completely unaware of the three pairs of optical lens staring. "They look so cute together." - stated Chica. Foxy simply rolled his eyes which earned him an elbow on the belly from Chica. Admittedly, he didn't really care much about feelings, unlike his friends. The one thing he cared about the most was making the youngs one happy. His thoughts were interrupted by Freddy. "He's going well so far, but I got an idea to make it even better for them. Follow me." "And because of that his face was covered in cake, it took a long time to clean him up." "Hahaha, poor Foxy." "Well he kinda set himself up for that." - he shrugged, smiling. When Sugar was finally done with her dinner, she let out a satisfied sigh. Bonnie got up, grabbing the plates and cup. "I'm glad you enjoyed it, I wished I could have made something better." "Don't worry about it, I really liked it." With her hoof, she asked him to approach closer and doing so Sugar gave him a quick kiss on his cheek. "Thank you Bonnie." Bonnie could swear his systems almost crashed. Almost. "Y-your welcome...I'll umm just get these back." - he said moving into the kitchen. Once he got there, Bonnie gently placed down the stuff on the counter. He could believe what just happen. She actually just kissed him. Well it was on the cheek, true, but it got him fired up. "Take it slow kid or you'll end burning the restaurant." - stated Freddy, stepping into the kitchen. "You saw?" The brown bear nodded with a big grin. "I sure did. I'm proud of you." "Well, you guys did most of the hard word decorating the place and such." "But who was out there by himself using his charm?" "Me?" He clapped his big fluffly hands. "We have a winner, but the show isn't quite over yet." "What do you mean?" Meanwhile Freddy got behind him. "What are you doing?" "You two should go check the roof." And with that being said, Bonnie was pushed out of the kitchen. Sugar raised an eyebrow. "You ok Bonnie?" "Yea,yea, umm want to go on roof and see the stars?" "I would like that." It only took them a couple of minutes to reach the roof, Bonnie was still wondering what they have been up to. Upon opening the door, Sugar and Bonnie's jaw dropped very slightly at the sight of the new roof improvement. "This is..." - he started, but Sugar cut him off. "Beautiful." True to her words, whole roof was redecorated with lights, and right in the middle of the floor was a large red carpet. A little bit to the side was a colorful jukebox currently playing a quiet melody. It was simple lullaby, yet it brought him such joy and good memories. He glanced between the jukebox and Sugar. "Oh, I see." Bonnie let out his hand towards his companion. "Care to join me in a dance?" Sugar blushed at the gesture, for two reasons. "There's one tiny problem." "What is it?" Her blush become more noticable. "I'm not a good dancer." The animatronic laughed. "It's alright, I'll teach you. Just follow my steps." "Ok." - she finally said it as her right hoof made contact with his hand. The duo spend the rest of their night dancing. Bonnie began with something a bit slow. Fortunately his feet wouldn't feel any of misteps from Sugar, even though she apolagized several times. Slowly, Sugar was starting to pick up the pace and enjoy herself even more. By the time they were finished dancing was when the first rays of light poked through the sky, that's when they knew had to say goodbye and see each other much later. They left with a satisfied smile, knowing everything went well. Bonnie watched from the roof as the pegasus left the restaurant, going down the road until he lost track of her. Bonnie was so happy that Freddy couldn't bring himself to say that he needed to clean the roof and downstairs. At least not yet anyways.
