//------------------------------// // First Day - Christmas Parade: // Story: The Dazzlings 12 Days of Christmas // by Zenyattaluver677 //------------------------------// Adagio Dazzle, Aria Blaze & Sonata Dusk, formerly known as The Dazzlings, got out of Adagio's car, which was parked in the parking lot of one of the candy stores in their local town, since they couldn't park along the main street as it was blocked off for the Christmas parade they were going to. It was currently December 14th, and it was 12 days until Christmas morning and the girls had decided to do some sort of Christmas-related activity each day for the twelve days before Christmas. Adagio had to be convinced to do it by Aria though, since Aria'd promised Sonata, their younger sister they'd do it. Sonata had anxiety, and doing fun things kept her mind off of it. Aria cared very much for her younger sister, and was very protective over Sonata, always speaking up for and defending her if someone was being mean to her, it was very seldom that Aria told Sonata no, she only did if Sonata was doing something she wasn't supposed to or had something she wasn't supposed to or allowed to have. Adagio cared very little about Sonata and her anxiety and often teased her about her anxiety and didn't see the problem that Sonata had with it, she always thought Aria was just overprotective of Sonata for no reason and always looked over Sonata's anxiety. "This is going to be fun Ari." Sonata said as she held Aria's hand and followed behind her, skipping as she did. "Yeah. Are you excited?" Aria asked, glancing over her shoulder at her younger sister. "Yeah!" Sonata answered excitedly. "You two are lucky I was able to be talked into doing these things every day from now until Christmas, especially this one, I despise the cold." Adagio flatly stated as they walked to the sidewalk and walked down it, looking for a good place to stand for the parade, which started at 7:00, it was currently 6:54. "Oh come on, it's not that cold out here." Aria flatly retorted to her older sister, rolling her eyes at her. Adagio was wearing a dark jade green winter coat with the hood up, black sweatpants, a warm grey long-sleeve shirt, black winter boots, dark grey wool socks, a purple scarf, light purple winter gloves and dark pink earmuffs. Aria was wearing a dark purple winter coat, grey sweatpants, a warm white long-sleeve shirt, purple winter boots, light purple wool socks and dark purple winter gloves. Sonata was wearing a dark magenta winter coat, dark pink sweatpants, a light pink warm long-sleeve shirt, purple wool socks with pink polka-dots, pink winter boots with white trim, dark pink winter gloves, a minty green scarf and a grey hat with cat paws she could put her hands in. "What time does it start?" Sonata asked, looking down the street once they found a place to stand to see if the parade had started yet. "Seven." Aria softly answered, watching her younger sister. "I'm going to go and get some hot chocolate from over there ok." Adagio explained, pointing to the hot chocolate stand that was down the sidewalk a little ways. "Sure whatever." Aria flatly said, glancing over as Adagio walked away and then back out at the street, the parade would start in about four minutes. "Aria look at the thingys on the lamp posts." Sonata said as she pointed to the various shaped garlands on some of the lamp posts around them. "Yeah, those are pretty aren't they?" Aria softly asked, smiling at her younger sister, happy that she was happy. "Yeah. I like that one over there." Sonata answered, pointing to one across the street that looked like a candy cane. "Why does Dagi seem so mad?" Sonata asked, turning to look at her older and protective sister, pointing to their oldest sister who was currently getting her hot chocolate. "Because she'd sooner be at home in the warm house than here in the cold. But she knew she had to come because I forced her to." Aria explained, also looking over at Adagio. "Oh." Sonata replied, looking back down the street to see if the parade was coming. "Don't worry, I'd sooner be here with you than at home." Aria softly said, turning to look at her older sister again. "I know. Thanks Ari." Sonata sweetly replied, looking at her older sister and smiling at her. "You're welcome." Aria said, returning her sister's smile as Adagio walked back over and stood on her other side again, her hot chocolate in her hand. "How much longer until this thing starts?" Adagio flatly asked after taking a sip of her hot chocolate. "It should be starting anytime now, it's seven." Aria answered, pulling her phone out of her coat pocket to look at the time before she did. "Ari are you going to take pictures of the parade?" Sonata asked when she saw her older sister's phone in her hand. "I sure am." Aria replied, turning on her phone and going to the camera and switching the camera to the view where it was facing her and Sonata, "Come here, I'll take our picture right now." she added as she moved closer to her younger sister. "Ee!" Sonata excitedly exclaimed as she smiled for the picture and Aria took it. "There, I'll post that on Instagram when we get home." Aria explained, switching the camera back to the other view and then turning her phone off. "Ooh look. I see lights down there." Sonata said, pointing down the street to some lights that were approaching them. "I think I know what it is." Aria playfully replied, receiving a smile from her younger sister which she returned. Aria glanced over at Adagio when Sonata looked back down the street and focused her attention on the parade that was getting closer to them, Aria saw that Adagio wasn't paying attention and was looking at something on her phone. She nudged Adagio in the ribcage and pointed down the street at the parade when Adagio looked up at her with flat expression to see what she wanted, Adagio signed and then turned her phone off and put it back in her pocket. She rolled her eyes when Aria looked away but watched the parade with little amusement. "I like that one!" Sonata excitedly said when a float passed them that had a bunch of candy canes and snowmen on it. "I like that one to." Aria said, she was currently taking pictures of various floats from the parade to put on her Instagram. "Dagi which one do you like?" Sonata asked her oldest sister, turning to look at her. "Huh. Oh, I liked the one that went by that had the white and blue Christmas lights on it that the people who run the community hall had." Adagio answered after realising Sonata'd said something to her, she wasn't really paying attention to the parade, she just answered so Aria wouldn't lecture her for ignoring Sonata. "Oh yeah, I liked that one to." Sonata replied, looking back at the parade. Both she and Aria took note of their sister's forced answer. "You know you could try to at least act excited." Aria flatly whispered to Adagio. "Yeah, yeah whatever." Adagio flatly replied, shrugging off what Aria'd said when Aria looked away. *4 MINUTES LATER* "Alright, come on then, it's over, let's head home." Adagio said almost immediately after the last float went past. "Jeez, sometimes I swear you're fussier than Sonata." Aria sarcastically said, causing Sonata to giggle a little bit at what she'd said since Sonata knew it was addressed at Adagio and not her. "You think that's funny Sonata?" Adagio asked, stopping and abruptly turning to glare at her youngest sister. "Um, n-no." Sonata quietly answered, stepping behind Aria so she'd be safe, knowing Aria'd protect her. "Hey! She was just agreeing with what I said. If you have a problem with it you can talk to me about it when we get home after I put her to bed at ten." Aria defensively explained, glaring at Adagio while Sonata cautiously looked over her shoulder at Adagio. "Ugh whatever. Let's go." Adagio flatly replied before turning and beginning to walk back towards where she'd parked her car. Aria and Sonata followed her once Aria told Sonata it was ok.
