"Well, this is a bit of an unexpected turn of events." Inferno noted as he gazed at the Sanctuary in the Sky hovering above Unityville. "But after having to deal with two factions of the Chaos Kin, it's nice to finally get some backup."
"I do not blame your cautious attitude towards my intervention." Splendid Venus said with a nod. "But you need not worry about a target being painted on this town. Though we share the title of Chaos Kin, my siblings and I are far from closely knit. Tyrant Neptune set out for global domination. Big Saturn intended to turn the world into his own personal machine factory. You all witnessed the declaration of my motives. As for the current member of my kin that antagonizes you, Suppression Pluto is a manipulator. This being evident since all his minions are based on chess pieces. Judging from the previous battle, I would say half his pawn pieces have been destroyed."
"That means he can still send out waves of his grunts." Steel Edge noted. "But that means he'll still have his higher-value pieces saved up for his endgame, right?"
"Correct." Splendid Venus replied. "However, while I have promised you aid in the form of my agents, I must warn you that few of them are built for battle."
"You keep mentioning your agents, but we've never seen them." Arctic Ace stated. "We might as well see who we'll be working with. Care to introduce us to them?"
"I was wondering when you would bring that to my attention." Splendid Venus raised her staff, and a bright light shot into the sky! Six pillars of light appeared next to Splendid Venus, and six angelic figures descended from the heavens! "These six are my agents. Earth the Agent of Mystery, Mercury the Agent of Wisdom, Jupiter the Agent of Miracles, Saturn the Agent of Judgment, Mars the Agent of Force, and Uranus the Agent of Entropy."
"Weird." Venus Bloomer noted as he counted off the present agents. "There seems to be two missing from your lineup. You forget to call two down?"
Splendid Venus shook her head. "When Discord was creating me and my kin, I was originally the Agent of Creation. However, with his chaos magic, Discord further empowered me into my current form. As for why there is no agent named after Pluto, it is because I detest him. The way he manipulates and treats his servants like nothing more than easily discarded tools sickens me."
"I'm with you on that." Dark Ice growled as he clenched his fist. "Take it from someone who was used. It's not an experience that you're eager to repeat anytime soon. So how soon can we expect your sibling to send more pawns our way?"
"With the arrival of my sanctuary, Suppression Pluto's domain of Pandemonium has been destroyed. Without it, his pieces shall require his own life force to animate them. Another factor on the drain of Suppression Pluto's life force is that the more powerful the piece is, the greater the amount of life force needed."
"So there's a chance he could take himself out before he even goes for his endgame." Twilight noted. "But given that all his minions are based on chess pieces, it's likely he's saving his stronger pieces for later."
Suddenly, a rumbling came from the outskirts of Unityville! In a flash of dark light, a tower-like fiend chess piece rose fro the ground! Just as suddenly as it had appeared, the tower opened up to reveal a battalion of Vilepawns! Two bursts of dark water soon erupted next to the tower, and two Darkbishop Archfiends took up defensive stances next to the Desrook Archfiend that had sprouted from the ground!
"To think I've wasted all of my rook and bishop pieces." Suppression Pluto said with a scowl as he watched one of his rook pieces crumble on his chessboard! "But ridding Splendid Venus of her beloved agents will make this play all the more worth it. Even if my forces were to crumble, only a select few of her agents are meant for battle."
Back at the fight, both sets of elements and the agents of Splendid Venus charged for to meet the advancing archfiends!
"The large tower is called Desrook Archfiend!" Mercury the Agent of Wisdom informed both teams of elements. "And the two fiends guarding it are known as Darkbishops! Of all the pieces, they have the least offensive strength, but they make up for it by providing protection from magic that targets other pieces!"
"Then we take out their protection first and take out the rest of their forces!" Inferno commanded! "Spread out, and take it to 'em!" The two teams of elements and the agents split up and set to work combating the mass of Vilepawns that were marching towards them! However, no sooner had the battle begun when The Agent of Wisdom was struck down by a blast of magic from the Darkbishop Archfiends! The sight of their comrade fading away angered the remaining agents!
"Fiends who have felled Mercury. . . " Saturn The Agent of Judgment growled! "Prepare to face judgment for your actions!"
"Don't get careless Mercury!" Mars The Agent of Force cautioned! "Focus on defending the weaker members of our number like Earth! She should have no problems getting rid of the Darkbishops, but the Vilepawns would rather be destroyed themselves in favor of protecting the more powerful pieces!"
"I believe I can help with that." Tyrannus said as he aimed his cannon! "I suggest moving out of the way!" A massive blast of thunder from Ty's cannon wiped out a good portion of the Vilepawns! "Battles aren't won by numbers! Time to show these grunts the meaning of quality over quantity!"
"Way ahead of you." Akage said with a smirk as he tore through the Vilepawns! Striking from all over with great speed! Pinkie Pie followed suit with Akage's hit-and-run strategy, and the two of them were a blur of pink and scarlet! The Vilepawns barely even knew what happened before they crumbled to dust seconds later! "C'mon guys. Don't go to pieces just yet."
"Hehe!" Pinkie Pie giggled! "Nice pun! It really made them crack-up!"
"Date banter later you two!" Rainbow Dash remarked as she hurled her boomerang at the squad of Vilepawns surrounding her! "Get rid of these extra-wheelers first before you get all romantic on us!"
"You mean you're not enjoying this little date, Rainbow Dash?" Steel asked with a smirk as he sent out a beam of magic from his sword and bashed a Vilepawn in the face with his shield! "Because I'd say we're carving out a good time for ourselves!"
"Fighting for our lives! Doesn't count!" Rainbow Dash snapped back! "Well, not like you need to worry about yours, but still!"
"I for one don't mind a little more time together with our significant others. No matter the situation." Rarity said with a small smile as she and Inferno made short work of the Vilepawns! "What about you darling?"
"You kidding?" Inferno asked as he incinerated a straggler with a shot from his blaster! "Any day with you's a good one. I don't think I've seen anyone else look so graceful in a fight."
Before long, all the Vilepawns had been dispatched and all that remained were the two Darkbishops and the Desrook Archfiend!
"Earth! Jupiter!" Mars commanded! "The two of you take down the bishops! I'll smash the rook to pieces!" Mars flew right at Desrook Archfiend, and swung his hammer! Smashing Desrook Archfiend across its face! At the same time, Earth and Jupiter wiped out the bishops with a well-placed blast of light! But before they could rest easy, a pillar of flame appeared where Desrook Archfiend had fallen along with two pillars of wind and a pillar of darkness! Mars glared coldly at the new arrivals on the battlefield! "So it looks like the royals grace us with their presence."
"Shadowknights. Dispose of these nuisances." Infernalqueen Archfiend commanded with a wave of her hand.
Mars grunted as he blocked a strike from Shadowknight Archfiend's blade! The two were evenly matched in strength, and it wasn't long before they took each other out with one final strike to their very cores! Earth was about to fly forth to avenge her fallen comrade, but Infernalqueen Archfiend engulfed herself in a flaming aura that seemed to strengthen the fiend and incinerating The Agent of Mystery!
"This isn't looking good!" Uranus The Agent of Entropy noted. "We're exactly the same in terms of numbers, but the queen can boost the attack of the other pieces!"
"She's not the only one who can do that trick." Jupiter said as his eyes narrowed in concentration. Three orbs of light floated above Saturn, Neptune, and himself. "Through the sacrifice of out three comrades, I'll make a miracle happen!" The orbs of light flew into each of them, and the three were covered in auras of light!
"So that's how this play is, eh?" Terrorking Archfiend said with a snort. "Very well. Queen! Let loose the fires of Pandemonium!" Terrorking, Infernalqueen, and the remaining Shadowknight were all cloaked in dark, flaming auras!
Uranus clashed with the remaining Shadowknight, but the two were of equal strength and wound up taking each other out! All that remained was Jupiter, Saturn, Infernalqueen, and Terrorking! Thanks to the power boost Jupiter had conducted, he was able to easily destroy Infernalqueen Archfiend! However, as the queen of the set was destroyed, a beam of orange light shot forth from her remains into Terrorking!
"AND NOW THE GAME ENDS!" Terrorking screamed! "CHECKMATE!" With a single swing from his sword, both Jupiter and Saturn were dealt mortal blows! However, just as Terrorking had attacked, Saturn fired a bolt of lightning! "So you decide to claw at me 'til your last breath? Very well. But let's see what the dice have to say about that, shall we?"
Terrorking let a demonic die roll on the ground, and it landed on a 5. A protective barrier appeared around Terrorking to blocked the lightning bolt! However, the tired smile on Jupiter's face betrayed the supposed failure.
"That desperate gamble to avoid your end is what shall seal your fate." Jupiter said before he and Saturn faded away into nothing.
"You choose to make those your last words?" Terrorking sneered! Just then, a hail of red lightning bolts rained down from The Sanctuary in the Sky! Smiting Terrorking Archfiend on the very spot he stood and leaving nothing but a patch of scorched ground!
Both teams of elements stood still and silent in respect for the comrades they'd gained and lost in the span of a single day. And from her sanctuary, Splendid Venus watched sadly as her agents ascended to the great beyond. From the shadows, Suppression Pluto watched with wicked glee.
"I have lost all my pieces, but I suppose that is a gain rather than a loss. More time for my life force to replenish." Suppression Pluto said with an evil smirk. "But the true victory here is that I struck my dear sister where it hurts the most. Her very core." The bladed tendrils on his back began to ooze a poison-purple aura on their blades. "And that will make her so easy to control. . . "
