//------------------------------// // Chapter 2. Grass Lake // Story: Sun Dusk Meets The Prophecy // by MuffinDuffers //------------------------------// ~Sun Dusk Meet's The Prophecy~ ~Created by: MuffinDuffers~ Sun Dusk galloped over to the courtyard castle, her mane swaying in the wind. As she stepped into the forest, darkness poured over her body, the sound of crunching dead brown and orange leaves under her hooves as she took every step. The princess stopped in her tracks. She had heard something, something strange. As if someone was watching her. "Aaaaah!" Sun Dusk was soon finding herself falling downhill with another pony! A colt she thought it was, but she couldn't worry about that right now. As they both reached the bottom, the colt had found himself on top of Sun Dusk. He got up and backed away, as did the princess. Sun Dusk backed away a bit farther then said, "Who are you? What do you want with me? And why'd you attack me!?" The young colt about the princesses age spoke, "Sorry, let me properly introduce my self. I am Lewis. Lewis Ancher. Weird last name, I know. I didn't exactly pick it. So, what's your name?" The princess said with crumbled leaves in her hair looking very surprised and shocked, "Sun Dusk." She said as she was sitting on the ground. "Wait," Said Lewis. "Sun Dusk....? Princess Sun Dusk? Your maje-" Sun Dusk stopped him right at that moment. "Don't say your majesty to me. I've been called that enough all my life. Please, just call me Sun Dusk." "If you say so." He said. "So, where are you heading princes- I mean, Sun Dusk." She looked up and said, "No where important." Lewis rolled his eyes. "What?" She asked. "Sun Dusk, no one can be in these woods just for no apparent reason. Now seriously, tell me." "Oh, I'm sorry, a mare can't just take a walk in the woods? Alright then. Why are you out here? Hmm?" Sun Dusk said. "I'm out here to find some food for my brothers and me." Sun Dusk tilted her head. "You have to FIND food? You can't just buy it?" Lewis then shook his head. "Nope, it's different out here. I can't just go to the store and buy anything I want like you can every day." Sun Dusk looked up seeing it was getting dark. "What's wrong?" Lewis then looked up. "Oh, it's getting dark. Probably you should stay at my place for the night. My brothers are kinda annoying, but you'll get used to it." Sun Dusk turned around, "Fine, I'll stay with you." Lewis smiled at Sun Dusk. "Alrighty then. Let's get a move on." Lewis trotted off as Sun Dusk quickly followed behind, looking at the gorgeous night scenery as they went. Soon they spotted the camp sight. Not the best place in the world, but it was kind of nice. "This is the camp sight." Said Lewis as he trotted off to his brothers giving then both a noogie (A playful one). Sun dusk walked over out into the woods for a few minutes, came back and had a pile of branches and leaves. "What's that?" Asked Lewis giggling slightly. "You'll see." Smiled Sun Dusk. About 30 minutes later a king and queen size bed, along with 2 others were both created out of all the materials. Lewis stared in amazement. "Ta da!" Said Sun Dusk smiling. "Whoa! It's, amazing! Can I try one?" Asked Lewis. "Be my guest." Said Sun Dusk. Lewis trotted over to the king size bed and sat right on it. "Wow! It's extremely comfortable! How'd you make this?" He asked. "Practice Lewis, practice." His little brothers ran right over to their beds tearing them to shreds trying to make it comfortable. About 5 minutes later, they finally lay down. Sun Dusk walked over to her bed right beside Lewis's. "Good night." She said smiling. "Night." Lewis replied back. Soon, everyone was asleep. Sun Dusk then heard a crash in the middle of the night waking her up, including Lewis. "What was that?" She asked Lewis. "I-" He didn't finish the sentence, he was looking over at his little brothers beds, ALL empty. Lewis was in a panic, a frenzy, having a fright! He looked around anxiously trying to find his brothers, but nothing seemed to be left, just simply the torn apart beds they were sleeping in. "Where could they have gone?" He asked Sun Dusk as if expecting the answer from her. She just simply shrugged and helped search, but no evidence was found, but then suddenly, Sun Dusk spotted something. She walked over the the wooden table made entirely of sticks which she had also made, there was bread all over the muddy floor, and some clay wine-like glasses. "I think I might have found something to help us.." She exclaimed to Lewis, he then walked over examining the muddy bread and clay glasses then he apparently spotted something, something out of the ordinary. "What is it?" She asked timidly. Lewis held up a strand of orange hair, too light for his brother's;either of them. Sun Dusk snatched it out of Lewis's hoof. Sun Dusk was then suddenly shocked, she knew exactly who's hair it was. "What is it?" Lewis asked. "I-" She gulped. "I know exactly who's hair this is...." Lewis looked surprised, then he asked "Who?" Sun Dusk gulped down hard. "L-Lonnie," Lewis tilted his head. "Who?" Sun Dusk rolled her eyes and then said, "A local hobo like person, you know how they are." Lewis nodded. "So, are you sure this is Lonnie's hair? I mean, their are millions of other ponies with this type of-" Sun Dusk put a hoof over his mouth before he could finish, Sun Dusk dragged him over to a corner and hid behind a large branch. "What is-" Sun Dusk shushed him and then she pointed to, Lonnie, who was surprisingly well dressed. "He probably stole it from a merchant," Sun Dusk snarled. "But, what would Lonnie want with good looking clothes?" Sun Dusk shrugged and watched Lonnie scan the area for ponies, when thinking the coast was clear, he sat down on Lewis's bed and relaxed, his eyes closed. Lewis eeyucked quietly in disgust, but luckily, Lonnie did not hear him. He then pulled out a comic book from the back of him, they both tried not to ask themselves where it came from exactly... Lonnie then began reading up on super pony models, and local mens wear. We then both eeyucked at the same time, both in disgust we walked silently away. But, while trying to get away, Lewis stepped on a leaf and made a loud crunching sound, then he began running, grabbing Sun Dusk by the tail. Sun Dusk then sprouted her wings, and picked up Lewis by the mane. "Whoa!" Lewis said in amazement looking down at Lonnie who was looking up at him, probably wondering, 'What the heck just happened?!'. Sun Dusk and Lewis then flew off towards a small trading village, known as "Grass Lake". Safely putting Lewis on the ground after landing, a skinny little pony trotted up to them, his grin wide, but he knew something was up. He looked as if he were only 10 years old, with his short scraggly blonde hair flowing in the wind, his green glasses pressed up against his brown face, and with that, he looked up at Sun Dusk and Lewis, and then asked, "Who are you?" With that, Sun Dusk introduced herself. "I am Sun Dusk, and this is Lewis. We are here on official business." The young colt tilted his head, then put his right hoof on his right cheek then gasped. "Sun Dusk, as in, PRINCESS Sun Dusk?" He looked around then bowed. "Your majes-" Sun Dusk put her hoof over his mouth and he blushed, then got up slowly. "Call me Sun Dusk, please, but may I please ask what your name is?" Sun Dusk asked curiously. "Arthur," The young colt said. "Arthur Collins. Pleasure to meet you, Prin-I mean, Sun Dusk." He then blushed again, his cheeks got redder this time. "So um, what brings you to Grass Lake?" He asked. "You can answer only if you'd like, I mean, it's not like you have to or anything..." Sun Dusk giggled at Arthur, he looked down. "Well, like I said earlier, me and Lewis here are on official business. We're searching for something, something important." "Like what?" Arthur asked curiously. Lewis answered that question, "We're looking for my little brothers, have you seen them? They look a bit like me, caramel colored, green eyes," Arthur stopped him there. "Oh... you mean them two over there?" He pointed to Lewis's brothers playing in some sand. "There they are!" Lewis and Sun Dusk ran over to them, Arthur quickly following behind them. Lewis quickly scooped them both up in his hooves and gave one to Sun Dusk, Arthur took him though, struggling to keep him on his back. "I'll take him Sun Dusk." Sun Dusk just shook her head back and forth and took the colt back. "Sweet heart, I know your trying to help, but these guys are a bit too heavy for you, alright?" He sighed, then nodded. "I guess, just by a few LBS." Sun Dusk nodded back and gave Arthur a big hug, he blushed. "Well, we have to be going now, we'll see you later, okay Arthur?" Arthur saw it was getting dark, so did Lewis and Sun Dusk. "Well, maybe you could stay here for the night? It's getting a bit dark, I wouldn't ever go out in the everfree when it's dark." He shivered. "Way too risky, there are hobo's and crooks, bandits, and also, SPIDERS!" Sun Dusk thought Arthur was convincing, and she followed him with Lewis behind her to a run down shack looking place. "Is this the garage?" Lewis asked, Arthur turned around and laughed. "No silly, it's the place where your staying for the night, it does look a bit like a garage though.." Sun Dusk, Arthur, Lewis and his brothers, and walked into the tiny shed. "It's not much, but it'll have to do." Sun Dusk said. Arthur then shook his head at her. "No, Sun Dusk, this is where Lewis and his brothers are sleeping. Your coming into the house. There's one extra bedroom." He then turned to Lewis and his brothers. "You don't mind, right?" Lewis shook his head, thinking it's a bit unfair but still, he didn't want to be rude. "Okay, good." Sun Dusk waved to Lewis and followed Arthur to his home. Lewis sighed when she left, he then lay down in a pile of hay in the corner, his brothers just plain sleeping on the hard wood flooring. Lewis then sighed one last time, then found himself asleep.
