//------------------------------// // Chapter 21: War for the Ages- Part 3: Quest Complete // Story: A Daedra's Heart // by Randablitz //------------------------------// Previously in “A Daedra’s Heart”... “I haven’t used this shout in a long time.” I said as I inhaled deeply. “LOK, VAH, KOOR!” I shouted towards the raging snow as I ascended the mountain. Finally I reached the top of the Throat of the World, like I did all of those years ago. Unsurprisingly, Jyggalag was sitting on a throne near Paarthunax’s perch. “It’s surprising to see that you came here alone, but it matters not.” Jyggalag said as he began to stand and grip his sword. “Let’s just get on with this so I can go home and begin my life as a married man.” I said as I took a combative stance. “Very well, may the victor be blessed with the spoils.” Jyggalag said as he pointed his great sword to me and charged. I charged in return and at the very moment our swords clashed the fate of Nirn and Equestria was now on the edge of a knife. Whomever won this battle determined the fate of the universe. “I cannot allow myself to lose!” I inwardly shouted as I pushed Jyggalag away and charged again. Present… Throat of the World, Summit (Kai’s P.O.V) I practically roared as I sidestepped out of the path of Jyggalag’s greatsword as I charged at him and landed a couple of blows, then I dodged away. Jyggalag quickly recovered and leapt into the air and lunged forward. I rolled out of the way and shot a Lightning Bolt at him. He quickly deflected the spell and charged at me, swung his sword in a diagonal spin slash. I backstepped and countered with three swings, and all of the attacks landed causing Jyggalag to fall to his knees in exhaustion. “I see you’ve improved little brother.” Jyggalag complimented as he began to stand back up. “However, I’m not even close to being defeated.” He said as he strode towards me. “Then come at me!” I shouted as I pulled my lucky shield out of my pocket dimension that contained my inventory. Jyggalag’s sword impacted my shield causing him to stagger, I capitalized on the opportunity and impaled him through his abdomen. I pulled my blade out and I dodged a huge blast of magic from Jyggalag. He then caused lightning to strike in random spots in our arena. I managed to lure him into a lightning strike and just before he built up enough mana to cause his enormous blast, I stabbed Jyggalag again and this time I leaned down to whisper into his ear. “No matter what has happened in the past, I always looked up to you. However, I can’t allow you to win because it would completely destroy the multiverse.” I said to Jyggalag as he inhaled deeply. “I know you did, and I am forever grateful for that, and I am sorry for the atrocities I have committed, and now I must bid you farewell as I merge with Sheogorath and I will cease to exist. Goodbye brother.” He said as he slumped forward and fell off of my blade into the snow. His body began to dissipate into smoke. “Goodbye brother.” I replied as I watched the smoke  disappear over the horizon. Throat of the World (3rd P.O.V) Everyone that was possessed by Jyggalag’s influence was released and collapsed onto the ground unconscious leaving the Equestrian Coalition  to rush to the fallen warriors to get them out of the cold. “He did it!” Garrin shouted as he saw the smoke from the summit dissipating. The Equestrian Coalition  erupted into cheers as the formerly captivated peoples of Nirn awoke from their brief slumber. High Hrothgar (Luna’s P.O.V) We could hear the sound of our forces guarding the outside cheering as the battle was finally over. I heard the doors that lead to the summit open and reveal my loving Daedra leaning on the door in exhaustion. Kai began to fall towards the ground, but I quickly caught him in my magic and carried him to one of the beds in the monastery. “It’s finally over.” Kai  said as he passed out from exhaustion. “Yes, it’s finally over.” I said as I paced a loving peck on is cheek. “Rest now my love, you’ve earned it.” I said as I made my way back to the others in the monastery. “Is he alright?” Tia asked. I nodded in response. “I always knew he could do it, but when he wakes up we need meld our worlds together.” James(Sheogorath) said earning murmurs of agreement. After three hours I heard Kai yawning, signaling that he awoke from his slumber from fighting Jyggalag. “Morning sleepy head.” I said with a smile. “Hello to you too.” Kai replied. “How long was I out?” He asked. “About three hours.” I said. “Okay, so now Nirn has to be fused to Equestria, and after that we can get back to planning our wedding.” Kai said as he walked over to me and held me in his arms. I nodded in agreement as Tia, Cadence, the Element Bearers, the Aedra, Kai, James(Sheogorath), the rest of the Daedra, the Ideal Masters, and myself journeyed up to the summit of the mountain with an Elder Scroll to combine our magic to meld our worlds together at last. Throat of the World Summit 3rd P.O.V As the Daedra, Aedra, Celestia, Cadence, Luna, and the Element Bearers reached the Time Wound, Kai pulled out an Elder Scroll. “In theory, all we would have to do is focus all of our powers on the scroll and will for our worlds to meld together.” Kai said as the others nodded in understanding. All of the most powerful entities then focused on the Elder Scroll with their respective magic beams with a runic lattice slowly started forming around the group as the spell began to react with the fabric of the universe. Luna noticed the a spark of white light starting to consume the entire mountain and then the light became too bright to see and Luna forced her eyes closed, then the light began to die down until the runic lattice disappeared from sight. Luna once again slowly opened her eyes to see the sun still high in the sky, but she felt a difference in the heavens, for instance, she felt more powerful because she now had control of Nirn’s moons Masser and Secunda. She also stared off into the distance to see the vague outline of Canterlot Castle on the horizon. The others began to open their eyes, and groan from the enormous amount of magic they just used affecting their bodies. “Did we succeed?” Azura asked. “Indeed we did, just take a look in the distance, you can see Canterlot from here!” Luna exclaimed happily as she tackled Kai to the ground. The others laughed at Kai’s expense, but soon found Luna’s claim to be correct and they all breathed a sigh of relief. Kai’s P.O.V “It’s finally over.” I thought to myself as I gazed at the sky with a smile on my face as Luna tackled me to the ground and we kissed to celebrate our victory. After a few seconds Luna and I separated from our kiss, she and I stood up as the rest of our group went back to the military encampment on the mountain as the sun rose over the horizon to greet a new age. Sheogorath tapped me on my left shoulder to get my attention. “So when are ya gettin’ hitched now that the universe is saved?” He asked. “Maybe two months from now, I mean we have to let everyone get used to this new way of life.” I replied as we walked into the monastery. Inside the ancient stone building all of the supernatural being from Aetherius, Oblivion, Equestria, etc. sat at a table to figure out where to go from here on. “I personally think that we should put our differences aside, I mean we all just saved the universe from destruction.” Akatosh said gaining a few murmurs of agreement from the rest of the table. “I agree, there’s a lot more to gain, than when we were enemies.” Azura said as Sheogorath and I took our seats. “As much as it pains me to say it, but she’s right.” Molag said placing a hand under his chin. “You only agree because of your disgusting relationship with that thing you call champion.” Boethiah said in disgust. Molag was about to get up from his seat and strike his rival, but Meridia stopped him. “Calm down! She’s just jealous that every time there’s a potential suitor for her, she ends up bored and kills them.” She said with a smirk on her face as Boethiah sunk in her chair seething in rage. “All insults aside, the universe has been changed because of our actions. True, we have our differences, but all of us are the divine beings that influence the mortal races, and I think we should live in relative peace with one another.” I said as Boethiah took her seat and sighed in frustration. “He’s right.” Boethiah said with an irritated groan. “Good. It’s settled, now we have other matters to attend to, such as the wedding, it’s supposed to be a week from today!” Sheogorath shouted making me blush. “Well we have work to do.” Akatosh said as he, the other divine beings of Nirn, and I rose from our seats and greeted the new world with optimism. (Canterlot Castle, Equestria, One Week after Convergence Event, Luna’s P.O.V) Finally, my wedding day has arrived! I was standing in front of the display mirrors in the gown that Sassy Saddles made for me. “I still can’t believe this is actually happening!” I thought to myself as I placed the veil on my head. I heard the door to my room open and my dear sister came in. “You look beautiful Luna, Kai is so lucky to have you.” Celestia said with a smile. “Thank you Tia, I still can’t believe I’m getting married, and before you as well.” I said with a chuckle as we walked towards the ballroom. (Canterlot Castle, Ballroom, 3rd P.O.V) The ballroom was filled with the many denizens of Equestria, Aetherius, Oblivion, and Nirn. They were all here to witness the union of an Equestrian princess and her Daedric Prince. The room fell silent as the door opened and the beautiful bride was revealed to her loving groom, who smiled and the Bridal march began as she strolled down the aisle with her sister in tow. Celestia took her place next to Luna as the Maid of Honor, while Sheogorath was Kai’s Best Man. With the bride, groom, bridesmaids, and groomsmen all in their proper positions, Akatosh began the ceremony. “Dearly beloved, we are all here bear witness to the rite of marital fidelity between this Daedra, and this woman in the bonds of matrimony.” Akatosh began. Kai and Luna looked in each others eyes as Akatosh continued his speech. “Will the ring bearer come forth with the rings?” Akatosh asked. Spike came towards the altar with a pair of beautiful gold rings with sapphires in the center settings. Kai and Luna took their respective rings from the pillow. “The bride and groom may recite their vows of matrimony.” Akatosh said as Kai and Luna looked back at each other with loving gazes. “Kai, it is with all of my love, and devotion that I swear myself to be you wife from now until the end of time.” Luna said as she slipped her ring on to Kai’s hand. “My dearest Luna, it is with my honor to be your husband. I will do the absolute best I can to make sure you live happily with me for eternity. I only ask that you accept me and all of my flaws, as I accept yours. I love you with all my heart, and it shall be so forevermore.” Kai said as he slipped his ring on to Luna’s hand. With their vows finished, and rings placed on their hands, Akatosh prepared to end the ceremony. “By the powers vested in me and realms of Oblivion, and Aetherius, I pronounce this loving couple husband and wife. May your lives be filled with happiness and love. You may now kiss the bride.” Akatosh said. Kai and Luna’s lips met in a kiss filled by love and passion. The crowd cheered and applauded for the couple as they separated their love true and deeper than any ocean.
