The Dazzlings and Melody arrived at the stadium where the finals would be held. Melody looked around for the Rainbooms and Sunset Shimmer but didn't see them. She looked at the play list and saw 'Rainbooms' crossed out and 'Trixie and the Illusions' written under it. This shocked her. Did her spell were off and the Principals changed their decision.
Melody found Principal Celestia. "Hey, why are the Rainbooms not playing?" Melody asked her.
"They never checked in so we had to find another band to take their place in the finals, and since Trixie and the Illusions were their opponents in the semis we put them in instead." She answered.
"Oh. OK." Melody thought 'they didn't check in? Oh, maybe they got held up. I just hope that they get here soon.'
Adagio, Aria, and Sonata pulled a smile when they saw Trixie about to play. Adagio licked her lips. "Oh sisters, I can practically taste the Rainbooms's boiling anger."
Aria smiled. "Yes. Before Trixie finishes her song they will snap. Then we will feast on their negative energy."
Sonata then cut in. "Shouldn't we tell Melody about this?"
Aria scratched her head. "We should shouldn't we?"
"Yes we should. She's our sister. We should treat her like one." Adagio said. She found Melody in the instrument corner. "Hey Melody."
"Yes Adagio?" Melody said, quickly turning around.
"Melody, darling..."
"What?"
Sonata groaned. "We found the source of magic in the school."
Melody was shocked. Did they know about the Rainbooms from her?
"It is a band of girls, the Rainbooms. And before you say it, we already know you were friends with them." Aria said.
"Girls, I didn't-"
"No it's okay Melody. You couldn't have known. We didn't tell you, and they haven't released their magic yet so you wouldn't recognized their abundance." Adagio said.
"But how do you know they're the source of the magic?" Melody asked.
"Easy. They failed to fall under our first spell in the cafeteria. Our voices were strong enough to enchant these non-magical humans, but not strong enough to enchant those with high amounts of Equestrian magic to be immune to it." Adagio explained.
"But what do you mean by "haven't released their magic"?"
"Oh simple: they haven't fought yet, so we can't feed off them yet. But you dearest sister have unknowingly given us the key!" Sonata said.
"How so?"
"Oh when you had the Rainbooms advance to the finals, we payed a little visit to Trixie. She currently had those fools locked up under the stage! When Trixie plays they will most certainly argue over missing their performance and with all that negativity and magic we will finally be restored to full power!" Adagio said.
"And when we do, we will rule this world!" Aria said.
Sonata then rubbed her hands together. "Then we will find our way back to Equestria and finally get our revenge on those Ponies!" She then did an evil maniacal laugh with the lights going dark red and there was thunder sounds in the background. Sonata then saw the face her sisters were giving her, which was a scared look, and she turned and saw a stage man messing with the lights and sounds.
"Wow. That was a perfect coincidence." Aria said.
Melody was too freaked to care about that. Her friends were trapped and she couldn't do anything about it. "What's gonna happen to the Rainbooms when we're done?"
"Well, since you seem to like them, maybe we could keep them as pets." Adagio said.
Melody was in dire conflict. She didn't want to help her sisters with their plan, but she couldn't betray them either. But she knew the Rainbooms would pull out. She just hoped that they could win on their own.
Trixie and the Illusions started playing their song, with Trixie smiling as she was literally above the Rainbooms.

In the storage room under the stage the Rainbooms and Sunset were still trapped.
Rainbow Dash was repeatedly shoving the door but it wouldn't open.
"Give it up, Rainbow Dash. You've been tryin' at this for hours. It's not gonna open."Applejack told her.
"I don't think that it matters that we're stuck down here. I don't think the counter-spell would have worked anyway." Twilight said sadly.
"Of course it would have worked, Twilight. Assumin' a certain band member didn't try to hog the spotlight the whole time we were tryin' to play it!" Applejack implied.
"Hey! If you wanna tell Twilight she's getting a little too caught up trying to be the new leader of this band, you don't have to be all cryptic about it." Rainbow Dash said.
Twilight backed up as she started to tear up.
"She was talking about you, Rainbow Dash!" Rarity told her.
"Me?! I'm just trying to make sure my band rocks as hard as it needs to!"
"OUR BAND!" Rarity, Applejack, Pinkie Pie, and even Fluttershy yelled at her.
Twilight was backed against the wall. "But why wasn't it working? I should know what to do. How could I not know what to do? How could I have failed like this?!"
Sunset saw this and then looked at her arguing friends..
Applejack got in Rainbow's face. "It might've been your idea to start a band, but it's not just your band, Rainbow Dash!"
"I'm the one who writes all the songs!" Rainbow said back.
"I write songs! You just never let us play any of them!" Fluttershy told her.
"I had the most perfect outfits for us to wear!" Rarity said.
"Again with the costumes! No one cares what we're wearin'!" Applejack said, agitated.
"I care, Applejack! So sorry if I enjoy trying to make a creative contribution to the band!" Rarity said defensive.
Pinkie Pie then showed up between them. "Hey! Anybody here remember fun?! I'll give you a hint: It's the exact opposite of being in the Rainbooms!" She said vigorously.
"I wish I never asked any of you to be in my band!" Rainbow Dash said.
"I wish I'd never agreed to be in it!" Rarity said.
"Me neither!" Fluttershy and Applejack agreed.
Rainbow Dash, Applejack, Fluttershy, Rarity and Pinkie Pie started arguing and producing a green mist that went through the ceiling. Sunset gave a worried look
Back above Trixie and the Illusions were finishing their song.

Fireworks then went off and the crowd cheered. The Dazzlings and Melody were watching as Trixie walked by.
"Try to top that!" Trixie said with at smirk.
"Oh, gosh! I don't know if we can!" Adagio said sarcastically. The Dazzlings and Melody started laughing. Adagio does a 'cut off' jester with her hands and Aria, Melody, and Sonata stop laughing.
As they went to the stage they saw the negative energy the Rainbooms produced. The Dazzlings smiled wickedly. Melody pulled a fake smile too. She only prayed that they could make it out in time. The Dazzlings and Melody, who was next Aria, walked out on stage and started singing.

The four girls absorbed the negative energy into their glowing red pendants. They finally had it: their magic! Now nothing can stop them!
Back in the storage room Rainbow Dash, Applejack, Fluttershy, Rarity and Pinkie Pie were arguing.
Sunset realized what was happening. "Stop! You have to stop! This is what they've been after all along! They're feeding off of the magic inside you!" Sunset shouted.
"How can they be using our magic? It's the magic of friendship." Applejack asked.
"Ever since you started this band, you've been letting little things get to you. I never said anything 'cause I didn't feel like it was my place. Not when I'm so new to this whole 'friendship' thing. I still have a lot to learn. But I do know that if you don't work out even the smallest problems right at the start, the magic of friendship can be turned into something else." Sunset told them.
"I can't believe all this tension was happening right under my nose and I didn't realize it. I'm supposed to be the one with all the answers. And all I've since I've got here is let you down." Twilight said.
"I don't think anyone is supposed to have all the answers." Sunset told her. "But you can count on your friends to help you find them."
"I think you already have. C'mon! We need to get out of here."
All 7 girls pushed on the door but fell down. There was a knock at the door and it opened. Spike was there when the door opened.
"Spike!" Twilight said. She picked him up and hugged him.
"Sorry I took so long. I had to find somebody who wasn't under the Sirens' spell to help me get you out." Spike said as Vinyl Scratch appeared in the doorway.
"Why isn't she under their spell?" Twilight asked.
"Never takes off her headphones." Spike pointed out.
Vinyl gave a thumbs up.
"Come on, y'all! Time to prove we've still got the magic of friendship inside us!" Applejack said.
"And there's only one way to do it!" Twilight said.
"We're getting the band back together?" Pinkie Pie asked enthusiastically.
"We're getting our band back together!" Rainbow Dash answered.
"Whee!"
"Ooh, which version of the counter-spell are we going to play?" Rarity asked.
"I don't think it matters what song we play, as long as we play it together , as friends." Twilight said.
"I know just the song. Fluttershy's written a really great one." Rainbow said.
Fluttershy squealed with joy.
"We're about to save the world here. Personally, I think we should do it in style. Rarity?" Applejack said.
"I thought you'd never ask!" Rarity said enthusiastically, while pulling out a line of rock star clothes out of nowhere.

On top of the hill in front of the stadium the Rainbooms were in their costumes and looked nervous as they looked down at the stadium.
"How are we supposed to play over them from up here?" Rainbow Dash asked.
A car horn honks and Vinyl was driving. She pushed a button and the car turned into a dj system with laser lights. The Rainbooms cheered.

Feel the wave of sound
As it crashes down
Giant red waves appeared and crashed down, hypnotizing all the students.

A flash of bright light appeared out of their four pendants.

They then became engulfed in a red energy.

Their bodies became space like and grew pony ears and extended pony tails, except for Melody, who had a braid instead of a ponytail like AJ.

Their space like bodies then shattered. Adagio grew purple fin like wings, Sonata grew light pink fin like wings, Aria grew light green fin like wings, and Melody grew red fin like wings. And all their clothes sparkled in certain areas.

Nothing can stop us now
The Dazzlings and Melody then got a look of confusion as they heard voices singing. Adagio looked at Sonata with frustration and Sonata gave a 'I don't know' look. Then Aria pointed to the hill. Adagio then became frustrated even more. They all turn to see the Rainbooms playing. Melody smiled a little as her friends were alright.

A flash of light appeared and Rainbooms began to transform.

The Rainbooms grew pony ears, extended ponytails with bright color strips, and Twilight, Fluttershy, and Rainbow Dash grew wings.
"So the Rainbooms really want to turn this into a real Battle of the Bands?" Adagio said from the stage. "Then lets battle!" She said as she smiled at Aria and Sonata, who smiled back.

Now it's time to finish you!
Adagio' eyes turned red. Then sound waves emitted from Adagio's pendant and entered Aria's and Sonata's pendant and their eyes turned red too. But not Melody's pendant. Then a bright red light appeared.
Then a dark red energy came out of Adagio's, Aria's, and Sonata's pendants. A yellow sea horse with a gem in it's chest projection appeared above Adagio. A purple sea horse with a gem in it's chest projection appeared above Aria. And a blue sea horse with a gem in it's chest projection appeared above Sonata. Then the projections came at the Rainbooms.
The projections circled the Rainbooms and then prepared to attack. Rarity blasted a shower of diamonds from her key-tar at Aria's projection. Fluttershy blasted Sonata's projection with a beam of butterflies from her tambourin. Twilight the vocalized a blast of stars at Adagio's projection.
On stage Adagio looked irritated. Just before the stars hit her projection Adagio's projection then vocalized, sending the stars away and pushing Twilight back a bit. Then Aria's and Sonata's projections appeared next to Adagio's projection and then all three projections vocalized, which the Dazzlings on stage are doing the actual vocalizing. The vocalizing intensifies, sending the Rainbooms to the ground. Twilight lost the microphone and it landed next to Sunset Shimmer, who nervously picked it up. The Dazzlings then gave evilish smiles while completely ignoring Melody, who had a worried look.
"Sunset Shimmer, we need you!" Twilight said as she reached her arm out to her.
Sunset hesitated for a moment but then walk in front of her friends and then took off her jacket. Vinyl then started a beet and Sunset started singing.

The Dazzlings then became angry and cringed.

The Dazzlings' projections then came rushing towards the Rainbooms.

A rainbow then appeared and pushed back the projections, snapped the students out of the spell, and hit the Dazzlings, who were pushed back, but Melody was unaffected by it. Adagio's eyes turned back to normal and gave a sad face.

Sunset then started to levitate and glowed.

Sunset grew pony ears and a extended ponytail. The Rainbooms levitated and continued to sing. Then a rainbow shot up and created a glowing sphere with all their colors, including Sunset's red.

A giant alicorn with a rainbow main appeared and the Dazzlings gave a worried look.
[All sans Dazzlings and Melody]
Survives, survives, survives!
Then the alicorn blasted a rainbow from its horn at the Dazzlings. The Dazzlings's projections shattered and then their pendants started cracking and broke pieces off, but not completely destroyed. While Melody's pendant wasn't as damaged as the others', hers did have some creaks in it. The Dazzlings and Melody went back to their normal form and on the stage floor rubbing their heads.
The Dazzlings look at the ground in front of them and look horrified as they saw shards of their pendants on the floor. Aria and Sonata both looked at Adagio's pendant and screamed, as did Adagio. The three of the frantically tried to put the pieces back into the creaks on their pendants, but the pieces just fell out.
"No. No! NO! NO!!" Adagio screamed as she frantically tried to put the pieces of her pendant together.
"This is horrible!" Aria said.
"We have to fix them! Quickly!" Sonata said.
The Rainbooms were coming to the stage as they went to go check on the Dazzlings and Melody.
"Is it just me, or do they seemed terrified of something?" Twilight said as she walked up the steps.
"Yeah. I mean Melody mentioned their power was tied to their pendants, but this seems more." Sunset said.
"Adagio it's gonna be okay." Melody said as she walked up to her.
"No it's not!" Adagio said. She saw her pendant glow violent red. "No!"
Aria and Sonata saw this and rushed over. They tried to help Adagio put her pendant together, only for the pieces to just fall off again. "Son of a Mexican bean burrito!" Sonata said.
"Argh!" Adagio screamed as her pendant glowed brighter. She put her hands on it as she then started to levitate.
"Uh, what's happening?" Rainbow Dash said as she grew a little worried.
"Crap!" Aria yelled as she and Sonata also put their hands over Adagio's pendant. They too levitated as they went higher. Then red energy flowed from the creaks in their own pendants into the creaks on Adagio's pendant.
"Finally!" A large voice boomed from Adagio's pendant.
This made the Rainbooms, Sunset, Melody, and the Dazzlings scared. By this point all the audience had left the stadium, knowing from past experience that this wasn't good.
"Melody! Run! NOW!!" Adagio said to Melody.
"Adagio, what is going on?!" Melody began to freak.
"He is returning! Run!" Sonata yelled.
"Who? Who is coming?" Twilight asked the Dazzlings.
"Leviathan! Now all of you need to RUN!!" Aria hollered.
"What or who is a Leviathan?!" Applejack said.
Twilight gasped as she knew what that was. "Girls, we need to run. Now!"
"Adagio, Aria, Sonata, what's a Leviathan?" Melody asked.
"Not a what, a who!" Sonata screamed.
Sunset then remembered something from her studies back in Equestria. "Melody come on! We need to leave!" She grabbed Melody's hand.
Melody jerked her hand away. "No! Not until they tell me what's happening!" Melody yelled.
"Melody just RUN! Please!" Aria yelled.
"No! Who is this Leviathan?!" Melody said, demanding an answer.
"Fine! He is-" Adagio then screamed as a blast of red energy came from her pendant. Her and her sisters fell to the ground.
The energy then started to take on a shape. It turned into a creature that had the top half of a Unicorn, but the bottom half of an octopus. The Unicorn half was light blue with silver beard and hair. The octopus half was dark blue. When he opened his eyes they were red with slight pupils, he laughed, revealing his sharp teeth. "Free! Finally free!" He looked down at the terrified Dazzlings. "Hello, my daughters."
"DAUGHTERS?!" Everyone was both surprised and scared.
"Yes. The Leviathan is our father." Adagio said as she held her frightened sisters' hands.
