A secret revealed

"Celly, you're back!" Twilight screamed in excitement.

Everyone in the room was shocked and surprised at what they saw, but eventually they all cheered the return of their beloved ruler.

Luna walked up to her sister in disbelief and couldn't believe what happened. "S-sister? Is that really you?"

Twilight stopped her barrage of kisses so Celestia could respond. "Yes sister, it's me."

Luna threw herself at Celestia and Twilight and held her sister tightly. "I've missed you sister."

After the wedding and the reception, all three royals went to Celestia's chambers.

Celestia was in front of her mirror looking at herself. "It really is me." She said to herself.

"I've missed you so much, Celly." Twilight went up to Celestia and kissed her on the lips which was returned happily. When the kiss ended, Celestia put her hoof on Twilight's cheek and stroked it slowly.

"I've missed you too, Twily." Celestia smiled and pulled her wife into a loving embrace.

"I'm sorry to interrupt, but I have to ask? How did you revert back to normal?"

The lovers released their embrace and Celestia put a hoof to her chin in thought. "I'm not sure actually." Celestia looked at Twilight with a teasing smirk. "Maybe it was my Twilys love that set me free."

Twilight went wide and flushed red. "D-don't t-tease me Celly." She stammered.

"I'm sorry love, but I couldn't resist." Celestia ended with a chuckle, but no one saw the frown she wore for a second. 'Should I tell them? What would Luna think. What would Twily think. They would probably hate me. No. I need to tell them. I have to tell them. They deserve to know.' Celestia silently nodded to herself before taking a breath to steady herself.

Beads of sweat ran down Celestia's face. She was beyond nervous, but she was determined to tell them this secret that she held for two years. It was time to tell them the truth. She let out her breath that she was holding and got everyone's attention.

"I have something to tell you both."

Twilight and Luna turned their full attention to Celestia. Twilight was the first to speak.

"What is it Celly? Is something wrong?" Twilight asked concerned.

Luna nodded in agreement. "Indeed, do tell us what is the matter dear sister."

Celestia was doing her best to not back down and not tell them. She was really considering not telling them, but she had to. She shouldn't hold this secret from her sister and especially not Twilight. She loved them both dearly, but the weight of what she was going to tell them suffocated her. She shouldn't hold this secret, because she doesn't like to hold secrets from her wife or her dear sister.

When she and Twilight started dating, Celestia told her secrets and stories that she kept hidden away. She told Twilight everything about her past, because she wanted Twilight to know who she really was. Not some perfect god like being, but a mare with hopes and dreams, happiness and sadness. She told Twilight everything about her.

Celestia hoped and prayed that Twilight would not hate her for what she was about to tell her. A single tear came down her face as she struggled to gain control of herself. But over time more and more tears came down her face as she lost all control of herself and finally broke down.

She fell to the floor and covered her eyes with her hooves and bawled.

"Celly!" Twilight ran over to her beloved and picked her up in her hooves and held her close. "Shh shh, there there, I'm here for you Celly. Please, tell me what's wrong." Twilight was on the verge of tears herself because she hated seeing her love cry. It broke her heart seeing Celestia this way. Reduced to a crying mess.

Twilight held onto her lover tighter and kissed her tears away while assuring her that everything is ok.

"Twily, Luna. When I was Daybreaker....... I had full control of what I did." Twilight and Luna gasped but aloud Celestia to continue. "Every pony I killed and every decision I made, was my own. The nightmare took over physically, but not mentally. I was still in control of everything I did. The nightmare had no influence over my mind. I hold no remorse for the decisions I've made, or the ponies I killed.... And I still don't regret what I did." Celestia's face contorted into anger. "They deserved to die! They disrespected you Twily, and I was not going to let it slide. Not even a week after you died the ponies wanted me to take a new student. I kept saying no and I even burned the letters. But they wouldn't let up." Celestia looked Twilight and Luna in the eyes. "So I burned the school to the ground." Her face fell back down and her eyes trained to the ground. "My only regret is not telling you sooner Twily. I did all of it for you Twily. I missed you so much. And now you probably hate me and find me disgusting because of what I did, and I would understand why."

Twilight was in utter shock over what her wife told her. She did all that, for me?

After what seemed like an eternity, Twilight finally moved and stopped in front Celestia and stared at her. She saw Celestia slouched, with tears falling to the ground. Her mane slowed to a sluggish crawl and she looked like the color was drained from her body. Here it is, Twilight's going to divorce me and never speak to me again.'

Twilight put her hoof to Celestia's chin and lifted her head up so she they looked in each others eyes.

When Celestia locked eyes with Twilight, she thought she would see disgust, but all she saw was....

Love.

Twilight leaned in and closed the gap between them and locked Celestia in a passionate, loving kiss. Celestia was surprised that Twilight didn't hate her at all. Tears fell from Celestia's face once more, but instead of them being tears of sadness, they were tears of joy.

The kiss ended and they both parted.

"I want you to know this right now Celly. I will never hate you or find you disgusting over what you did. I might not agree with it, but I will never hate you for it. I love you Celly, and I always will. No matter what."

Celestia was overjoyed to hear that Twilight didn't hate her at all, so she dove on top of her lavender wife and pulled her in for another kiss.

"Umm. I don't mean to interrupt, but I'm still here you know."

Both lovers pulled away from the kiss blushing. They totally forgot Luna was still there.

"Umm, s-sorry sister. I... Forgot you were still there."

Luna let out a sigh. "All is forgiven dear sister. But I think I am heading to bed, because this day has been way to wild for me today and on top of what you said, I think I need to lie down and process this all. So with that being said, I bid you a good day." Luna walked out the door and shut it behind her, leaving the two lovers alone.

When Luna left, Twilight tapped Celestia on the shoulder to get her attention. "I meant what I said about not hating you for what you did. Did you really do all that for me?"

Celestia turned her head to Twilight, looked her in the eyes and nodded. "I did."

Twilight smiled and captured her wife in another passionate kiss. They parted and looked into each others eyes once more.

"I love you." both lovers said in unison.
