Chapter 2-Five Years Later

Five years later, Pear Butter finally escapes the grasp of her father and marries Bright Mac. All the while, though, she can't help but hear her dad's voice in her head sometimes. "I can't believe I lost you just like I did your mother." Soon, he would know how right he was.

Two years after their secret wedding and Pear Butter turning her back on her dad, Pear gives birth to their first foal, a strong colt whom they name Big Mackintosh. Not long after he comes out, a filly follows suit. The two name her Applejack. "Twins," sighs Pear Butter.

Three years later, they give birth to their final foal, a filly named Apple Bloom. A few weeks later, the two are out in the orchard when a horrible accident occurs. The two are crushed by a roll away cart that came down the hill into the orchard.

Not long after their parents passing, AJ and Big Mac find them dead in the orchard and take them to the apple pear tree and bury them with help from Granny. They then go and grab Apple Bloom and all go outside to grieve. Granny returns back to the house, not able to bear the loss of her only son. She then gets up the courage and writes a letter letting Grandpear know the horrible news.

A few days later, Grandpear gets the letter and reads it. "Dear Grandpear, it's Crabapple. Our children died in a cart accident. It rolled into the orchard and crushed them. I'm sorry." Grandpear then breaks down into tears. He then repeats the same phrase Pear sometimes heard in her head all those years back. "I can't believe I lost you just like I did your mother." He then goes back inside, sits in his chair, and continues to cry until the break of dawn. He can't believe his baby girl is dead and gone.
