Geeks of the Round Table: The Dark Invasion

Luna's Errand

(Canterlot At Night)
In the land of Equestria in Fangea there is a city called Canterlot. In Canterlot, there is a royal castle. In this castle, there is a hallway. In this specific hallway walked a horse. She was white, with a colorful mane and tail, a horn, and wings. She was wearing a tiara that signified her as Princess of Equestria, as well as a mantle with a purple gem. On her flank was a picture of the sun, her cutie mark. Her name was Princess Celestia.

Princess Celestia was in a good mood. The sun court had gone flawlessly, except a little outburst from her sister about some sort of rumor about dark relics, but apart from that, she had had a good day. But then she saw that Luna wasn’t Raising the Moon, as was usual for this time of day-to-night.

“Huh, that’s weird,” she thought but knew where she could find her sister.

Heading to the Canterlot city library, she saw one glowing screen at the computer table. In front of it sat her sister, Princess Luna, talking to someone on her discord. Only the conversation was different from the ones Luna usually had online. Celestia stopped to overhear.

“You can do this, can’t you?” Luna said, with apparent worry.

“I don’t really see why I need to. After all, they’re just rumors,” The person she was talking to said.

“Well I think they’re true, and 50,000 bits agree with me,” Luna said

“Woah, 50,000?! Sold,” the strange person said.

“Even still, I’ve hired you to stop the ritual from ever being completed. Were this to happen, the world as we know it would end. Is that understood?” Luna said, in a serious tone of voice she hadn’t used in a millennium.

“Ok, but I’m in it for the cash, not the duty,”  the stranger said snarkily.

“As long as you’re in, I don’t care why,” Luna said, before turning off the monitor.

“So, who was that?”  Celestia said while Luna focused on raising the Moon.

“GAHHHH! Oh, it’s just you, sister,” Luna said.

“It’s not smart, wasting 50,000 hard earned bits on proving rumors that aren’t real,” Celestia remarked

“You just have to trust me, sister. It all will come to pass if we let it,” Luna said darkly

(Spooky Scary Skeletons)
For an animated skeleton, Serif the Skeleton was a sexy beast. He was mostly undamaged, a feat considering he was a mercenary for a living. His outfit was impeccable, with a jacket that seemed made of leather but was actually a super strong alloy, and light cargo pants. On his skull was a helmet with night vision goggles fitted to make a visor. None of this would suggest that he was the geek lord of Undertale. That title gave him every single Undertale ability, as well as power in and over Undertale.

Another good thing was that his spaceship was scientifically proven as the coolest spaceship in existence, and was powered by improbability, meaning it could do anything- if the computer knew how improbable it would happen- and thanks to Serif’s processor upgrades, it always did- Serif the Skeleton, the Undertale Lord, flew the Heart of Gold.

“Now hot on the trail of those thingies you wanted,” His ship’s main computer, Eddie, said.

“Thanks, Eddie,” Serif said, spinning an attack bone on his finger as he looked out the primary viewport of the Heart of Gold. “Just think… what could we do with 50,000 bits?”

“SMOKE WEED EVERYDAY!!!” The voice came from one of the bridge windows that led to mini-dimensions. This one led to a lime green room with Snoop Dogg in it perpetually doing the tidy and singing.

Serif shut the window and cranked up Spooky Scary Skeletons. He was jamming out when suddenly Eddie came back online.

“Hey boss, there’s something weird going on out here,” he said.

“Tell me about it,” Serif said, distracted.

“Well, it looks like there’s somewhere we haven’t been yet,” Eddie continued.

“I’ve only been doing this for 2 months,” Serif said. “Well this looks extra freaky,” Eddie replied. “Well let’s go check it out!” “Right, now changing course,” The new course led Serif’s ship, the Heart of Gold, through a weird hole. “Woah,” Serif said. “Let’s go in!” Eddie said, and they did.

(Farewell Hyrule King)
Daphnes Nohansen Hyrule I, Lord of Legend of Zelda, sat in his cabin in the spaceship he was exiled in. He had been banished by his own kind because of violent crimes and losing an election for supreme leader of his universe. As a result, he was forced to leave the universe. Which placed him where he was now, sailing in a fathomless ocean of superheated plasma. He was stranded and surviving off the food and water he had while roaming the void inside of his own ship. Eventually, he learned he was low on food and could not survive for another year. He was going to die, but he wanted to leave one last recording before he did. So he powered up his ship for one last recording. “To anyone who finds this ship, I will be long dead before you find this… but if you do find this ship, I want to say I’m sorry for What I’ve done in the past… What I’ve done is inexcusable, and I know now that I’m no better than anyone else. If that’s the case then I hope you can forgive me. Tell Nashi Dragneel that Daphnes is sorry,” Daphnes said, before ending the recording.

(Ooo)
The Undertale Lord flew through the space between worlds, noting the weird differences between normal space and this space. Normal space was… space. But this was like sailing through water: thick and unyielding. It was actually an ocean of superheated plasma, but he felt what he felt. Worst part was, there didn’t seem to be anything out here. Just plasma, plasma, and more plasma.

“Eddie, this place is boring. Let’s go,” Serif said.

“Okee dokee! Turning around now.” Eddie began turning the Heart of Gold, but as they turned, Serif noticed something.

“Scratch that. Let’s check that thing out,” he said

“Okee dokee!” Eddie stopped turning and flew to the object. Approaching the strange object, he saw that it was a ship- a ship that was different than any he had ever seen, and he had seen a lot of ships.

“Let’s pick it up. Might be goodies inside it,” Serif said.

“Now engaging tractor beam.” Eddie began pulling the ship in.

(Canterlot At Night)
"So who did you hire?" Celestia asked her sister.

"The best mercenary I could find, a certain Serif the Skeleton," Luna answered.

"For this? Doesn't he have a fandom to run?" Celestia asked dubiously.

"Are you really so blind that you don't see he meant every word he said? It wasn't some ploy to escape. We are talking about something that could destroy all of Equestria, even all of Fangea as we know it. And besides, Serif never does his lord duties- he leaves all that to Asgore," Luna said, evidently worried.

"Luna please, come to yourself. That insanity ended millennia ago, never to return. And besides, you have a moon to raise," Celestia reminded.

"Oh! uhh... I forgot about that," Luna said, making her way to the castle. After raising the moon, she ran one last errand before retiring for the night- checking on whether the stallion at the repair shop had fixed her computer. Seeing that he had, she took it home, set it back up, then went to bed. As she tried to calm herself, she thought of what had happened the day the baneful prophecy was given.
