//------------------------------// // Applejack’s Family Reunited // Story: Applejack’s Family Reunited // by Lonely Fanboy48 //------------------------------// Ever since Applejack grew up, back in the old days, she never remembered why her parents we’re gone. After hearing everypony in town’s thoughts about what they knew about Applejack’s parents, it’s nice that Grand Pear and Granny Smith set aside their differences as the long feud between the Pear and Apple Family is finally over. As much as both families are finally respecting each other, Applejack and her family feel sad that her parents are gone and will never be able to see the peace that grew, but that’s what they think. In the entrance of Everfree Forest, two outside earth ponies ran out, one being larger than the other. They did so with hearts beating out of fear of the dangerous creatures around them while also holding bags they've had for a long time. The makeshift cloaks they wore were covered in branches and mud, even more so than when they had first been made. “Wow! That was really terrible!” The smaller one shouted in fear as she held the larger in her hooves. From her voice, she was female. “Ah told you we shoulda gone around the forest.” “Ah’m sorry, Ah just think this mighta been a short-cut an’ if we went around we could end up lost.” Replied the larger stallion as he hugged the female closer. “Well at least they didn’t steal our bags, that would’ve been a disaster.” She opened her bag and takes out a picture of her, the stallion and they’re born baby. “Ah just hope we will meet our lovely little mare after all these decades.” She begins to cry but the stallion calmed her down with another hug. “Don’t worry, Ah think she’s here in Ponyville. Ah heard ponies say that she’s a teacher er somethin’ at a school in Princess Twilight’s castle.” “Ah know, our little baby is now a teacher giving others help on cooking.” She teared up smiling. Not wasting anymore time, they then started walking towards the School of Friendship. In Applejack’s classroom, it’s a special occasion for the students. They brought their parents so they could have fun with the deserts their making. Pinkie Pie was acting as Applejack’s teaching aide since she was willing to help ponies if they’re stuck on something. “Yer doing great everyone. Make these pies great so we can eat ‘em at the end.” Applejack called to her students. It was just when Princess Twilight and Spike walked in their best friend’s cooking class. “Man. Today is going great.” Twilight commented to Applejack. “Tell me about it, the foods is going to be great when it’s done.” Spike licked his lips in anticipation, “I can’t wait.” “Yer right, and they’ll be ready soon enough.” As Applejack continues to look at the families, she felt a flutter in her heart from the bonding they’re doing together. “Ya know...” she sighed happily, “Ah never thought that yer idea fer a school would turn out so well.” “Well if there’s one thing that’s better then friendship, it’s family.” Twilight said. “And I think this activity would attract so many parents to have they’re foals attend this school.” “Do you think we should have more buildings built?” Spike asked, “With so many volunteers, the school won’t be able to fit everypo...one in.” “We’ll talk about that later. Right now I really have a lot to do.” Twilight glanced at Spike and then turned back to Applejack. “So Applejack, what lesson did you give the students to study?” Applejack takes out one of her papers. These papers were ones she would pass out to the students at the end of the hour. “The lesson they’re learning is that families should always get along. What Ah mean by that is the parents getting to know about the other parents. Trust me, Grand Pear and Granny Smith gave me the idea to teach the parents how to get along. That’s the whole point of all the parents being here.” Twilight was surprised by Applejack’s incredibly detailed idea. Applejack was smarter than ponies gave her credit for. After some thought Twilight said, “Applejack, could we also teach these ponies about feuds? You can understand how I’d hate for them to ever end up in a situation where they’d have to avoid another family member or a friend.” Spike nodded, “That’s actually a really good idea Twilight. Never knew you had it in you.” Spike commented with a smirk much to Twilight’s annoyance. “Twilight I would love to talk about ideas but I can’t right now, Pinkie needs my help.” She gets off her desk as she made her way to help the Pink flurry as she attempts to show how consuming a pie in one mouthful is possible. Unfortunately, she was being successful. Twilight and Spike left the classroom to get back to their work but they were stopped by two unexpected ponies, a stallion and a mare. The mare had a beige coat with an orange mane and tail that was totally disheveled and unkempt. The stallion had a bright yellow coat with a red mane and tail that was equally messy, though his color scheme reminded Twilight of a certain little filly who she saw often enough around town with two others. “Excuse me?” the mare asked. “Oh who are you two?” Twilight asked. “Ah’m Bright Mac and this is mah wife Pear Butter.” Bright explained. “I’m Twilight Sparkle and this is Spike.” Twilight introduced back while also lifting her hoof up for a hoof shake. “So why did you come here? Do you have a student you would like to enroll?” The two ponies shook their heads, “We’re looking for Applejack, do you know where we can find her?” Twilight smiled and nodded, “She’s over there in her classroom. She’s teaching her students how to cook pies.” “Oh my goodness, that’s so great of her.” Pear smiled. A tear began to form in her eye. “I know. She’s done great things for the school.” Twilight felt off with Pear’s reaction as she looked at her and Bright with a raised eyebrow. “Why do you want to know about her?” Bright stepped forward slightly, “Actually, we already know about her but...not everything since we’ve been apart ...a very long time.” After hearing those words, Twilight’s curiosity started shooting the walls of its cage in an attempt to break free. She then decided to ask one final question, despite her initial hesitation to do so. “Pear Butter, Bright Mac, Who are you?” Pear Butter whispered into Twilight’s ear. The lavender unicorns pupils shrunk to pinpricks as the words suck in. After what felt like hours, although it was only a few seconds, Twilight gestured for the two ponies to follow her as she guided them to Applejack’s classroom. The mare in question was still helping the students but when she was about to get to her desk, she stopped as she saw Twilight re-enter the classroom with a rather shocked expression on her face. “Twilight, sugarcube, what’s the matter. Y’all look like you’ve seen a ghost.” Twilight took a deep breath as she addressed her friend. “I may as well have Applejack, there are some ponies who are here to see you and even asked for you by name.” Twilight gestured to the door as the two ponies she was escorting entered the room and Applejack’s eyes laid on their faces as she recognized them as the ones she had missed when she was a baby, the faces she missed since the day they left, their cutie marks clear as day. Pear and Bright made their way to Applejack with the former trying and failing to hold back her tears of joy. “Applejack?” She said as she gets closer to her daughter with Applejack still shocked. “Th...this must be a dream.” She thought to herself as she moved slowly towards the couple. Her parents couldn’t possibly be here. They were dead...right? “Herro? Athholethack?” Pinkie trying to get the country gal back to reality, pies still in her mouth. However it did nothing. Pinkie finally took notice of the two new ponies in the room before looking back and forth between them and Applejack before realization struck like a cannonball and she walked away slowly to allow the group some space. Applejack still stood speechless but soon she has a smile with tears to match her mothers’. “Ah-ah can’t believe it. You actually found me,” She responded. “Yer as beautiful as the day you were born.” Bright Mac spoked, also tearing up. Applejack tackled her parents with as much love as she has and hugged them tightly with no intention of releasing them anytime soon, a sentiment that was returned twofold by her parents. Princess Twilight left to get their friends to see the heartwarming reunion. “We finally came back and we will never leave you ever again.” Pear said. Twilight and the others arrived about this time. Everyone’s heart was warm when they witnessed the reunion of Applejack’s family. “How did you know I was working here?” “We’ve been talking to everypony to find out where you’ve been and when we heard that you’re a teacher in this school, we were so proud of you. Teaching ponies and other creatures to make our greatest recipes.” Bright said. “It’s my way of helping ponies who want to eat our foods.” Applejack blushed. “Awww, our apple cook is gonna be famous.” “Wait! Your name is Apple Cook!?” Pinkie Pie exclaimed in horror and confusion. Everyone chuckled at Pinkies antics. Applejack called to everypony in class and introduced her parents to them. And to make things better for the reunion, they needed Apple Bloom, Big Mac and Granny Smith for this. After class, Applejack and her parents made their way to Sweet Apple Acres. “Ah’m so happy yer gonna stay at the farm with us.” Applejack said with happiness. “Ah know, you have no idea how long it took us to find you. Sure you spend yer time where we live but we thought you lived in Ponyville.” Pear said. “Why would Ah live in Ponyville? I would never leave my family behind, even if it’s not the entire family.” “That’s really respectful to the Apple Family.” Bright smiled at her daughter. “Respect is always important to the family.” When they finally made it to Sweet Apple Arcs, Big Mac had just came back from his apple picking in the forest as he takes the basket to the farms. “Hey brother!” Applejack shouted to get Big Mac’s attention. “What is it sis-” He cut himself when he sees his parents. Before they could even talked to them, he ran inside the farm to get Apple Bloom. “Apple Bloom!” “What!?” Apple Bloom shouted from her room. “There’s visitors who want to meet us.” “Alright. Be there in a second.” Apple Bloom gets downstairs and went outside of the farm where his brother is at. “So who’s waiting for us?” Big Mac didn’t answer her question, pointing at his parents was the answer he gave. Apple Bloom looked and saw Applejack with two ponies she recognized only vaguely. After a few seconds, she was finally hit with a wave of realization as she recognized the couple as her own parents who had left when she was but a few months old and had not returned since. She wiped her eyes as if she was looking at things for the first time, but her sight told the truth and her eyes were okay. When Pear and Bright came up to Apple Bloom, they adored how cute she is. “Awww, she looks like a sweet angel.” Pear hugged her as Bright saw her cutie mark. “With a great cutie mark. I never saw a cutie mark so different in mah life.” He commented. “Yeah and it looks amazing.” Apple Bloom cried so hard that her eyes were starting to hurt, but that didn’t stop her from charging in and hugging her parents as passionately as she could. She never thought she’d meet her parents. It was unbelievable. Them adoring how cute she is and the cutie mark she has. “Applejack, this is the greatest day ever!” She sobbed happily. “It sure is fer the Apple Family.” She said happily. “Ah can’t wait fer Granny Smith to see our parents again.” “Ah heard that she’s in Ponyville.” Big Mac replied. “Then let's get rollin!” Bright Mac said. Just when they about to leave Sweet Apple Arcs, they immediately stopped when they saw Granny Smith and a guest coming. Granny Smith stopped when she saw an old friend and her son. “Bright Mac?” Granny responded. “Pear Butter?” The guest said as he didn’t think this day would ever come. The guest who’s with Granny is Pear Butter’s father, Grand Pear. Pear Butter was shocked since the last time she saw her father is when he moved without her. “Daddy?” She walk up to him while the others do the same, “Why are you with her? I thought you hated the Apple Family.” Pear and Bright didn’t know that the feud was finally over. “Pear Butter, I’m so sorry for moving and everything that happened in the past.” He showed cried in remorse. “But it’s great to meet you after all this time. Me and Granny Smith set aside our differences and I’ll promise it will never be this complicated between you and Bright Mac ever again.” He hugged her tightly to show how things changed when she was gone. Pear Butter didn’t know what to say but hugged back. She felt relief not only that the feud is behind, but also that her father missed her. As for Granny Smith, she hugged her son who she missed the most. “It’s great to finally see you again.” She said. “Yeah, Ah would never forget the mother who took care of me.” Bright cried. Everyone giggled, as the reunion of the Apple Family became a dream come true. “So do all of you want some apple cake at our home?” Applejack cheered. “Yeah!” Apple Bloom smiled. “I will help you. After all I need to add love for my wife.” Bright wrapping his hood around Pear Butter. Pear kissed Bright on the cheek causing him to blush. Everypony giggled again. They head back to the farm along with Grand Pear to make an apple cake for the whole family. As for the Applejack and her parents, they’re bond has increased to higher levels. The moment when they meet face to face was the most important and cherished moment of their lives and they made a promised to ever go apart again.
