Dear Toby,

I completely understand what you’re feeling, but as your friend, I really just n want you to take a step back and take it easy. I don’t mean to come off as rude if I do, and I don’t want it to look like I’m trying to put you down hard, but it is important that we take this slowly.

I do know of a method of communication that can allow us to contact each other far more directly and efficiently, but I must warn you that in order for us to write to each other this way, I must inform the princesses of your existence. This is not a common means of writing to one another on our world, and only the princesses can sanction such a magical means of communication.

As I’ve said before, they would have no issues about knowing of or learning about you and your kind, but the chances of our rela friendship staying as private as it is (sans Spike and Pinkie Pie, of course) will be much slimmer from that point on, and I just want you to prepare for anything that may come from that.

Knowing this, do I have your permission to share your existence with the princesses? Obviously, I don’t want you to answer right away. In fact, I’d prefer you take a day or two to think this over if this is truly what you want, but if it is, and you’re comfortable with whatever decision you make, please let me know.
