//------------------------------// // Training // Story: The Christian Fleet // by Robert Emerald Fountain //------------------------------// The next day, everyone showed up for their training time. First was Colin, who was teaching how to properly pull a parachute rip-cord. He had them go tandem with instructors first, then he saw if they could do it themselves without help. Later, "Okay you all, it is time for something more advanced. You will now jump, but not touch the cord. It is tethered to the plane.", Colin announced. "Are you nuts, Commander?", asked Neighsay with worry. "We might get stuck and never land." Brandon laughed, and then he explained the concept. "This is called an automatic rip-cord. It has a carabiner that you must attach to a metal loop on the plane's door. Then, once the line goes taut, or tight, the cord is pulled for you. In other words, you can jump, and your chute will open on its own." Neighsay was skeptical, but once he tried it out, the concept worked successfully. He jumped with the cord attached to the plane, and once it had tightened, the chute opened. Eventually, all of the allies were trained in the skills they needed. Those that were trained long ago, were given updated training to bring them up to speed. Neighsay was confident about any rescue mission at this point.
