The next day the Crusaders were walking out of the school house while talking with smiles, his friends were shocked from leaning that Soarin was his father now.
"It's so cool to know your dad is a Wonderbolt", Button said still in shock as the colt smirked and nodded knowing he's happy to have a father again.
"Hey Spike, wanna come to my place so we can get our homework done", Scootaloo asked her boyfriend smiling as the colt nodded.
"We'll hang out later guys ok", Spike said turning to his friends as they nodded in understanding knowing they got homework too.
Then Tender Taps went with Apple Bloom to her place, Button went with Sweetie Belle place and Spike went with Scootaloo to her place.
With Fluttershy visiting her mom since her dad was at work, Mrs Shy was happy that her daughter and Soarin are a couple now and that her grandson has a father.
Then she thought about what her grandson been through for the past year, "And I still can't believe he was an traveling homeless orphan with no family, I'm glad you took him in and gave him a home and family Fluttershy", she told her daughter smiling as the young Pegasus mare smiled back and nodded.
"Thank you mom...plus I'm also glad that Spike is my son and that he has a father now to look up to", Fluttershy told her mother, then the older mare suddenly smirked.
"So when is he gonna get a sibling-MOM", the shy mare quickly said with a shocked red face as the older mare was giggling.
"W-We are not ready to do that yet...w-we decided to wait for a few months", the shy mare told her mother red face still as she was now hiding her face behind her mane.
An hour later with Spike and Scootaloo finishing their homework and glad they can spend time together now, "so what do you wanna do", the colt asked girlfriend with a smile.
"We can check if Button Sweetie Belle Apple Bloom and Tender are done with their homework", the filly said smiling as the colt thought about it and nodded.
Then they walked out of the house and started running towards the Boutique, suddenly Spike stopped when he saw colts and fillys jumping out of pink hot air balloon that was not perfectly tied to the wooden pole.
After the colts and fillys ran off excitedly, the mare with a brown helmet on her head started walking away, but when she did the hot air balloon started got lose and started floating away without her noticing it.
"Uh ma'am...your hot air balloon is floating away", he told her confusing her when she turned to him, then looked back at her ballon only to see it floating upwards.
She rushed towards it only for it to be out of reach, then Spike decided to help, "don't worry I'll get it", he said running towards it and up a pile of boxes.
Then he jumped towards it trying to grab the rope with his teeth, but missed and landing in a cart of apples that Big Mac was selling causing it to roll down hill.
"Spike", Scootaloo called concerned for her boyfriend and ran after him along with the mare, the colt popped his head out of the apples and saw he was in a moving cart moving in the same direction as the balloon.
Then he saw that Granny Smith was walking along with a smile and was also in the way of the run away cart, she wasn't gonna get out of the way in time.
Then he suddenly leaned the cart forward causing it to come to a stop when the attachment in the front dug into the dirt, Spike was sent flying as he smirked and saw an opportunity and grabbed the rope with his teeth.
His weight was bringing the balloon down as he started panicking realising how high up he was, but Scootaloo and the mare became concerned when they saw the air balloon was gonna land deep in the Everfree Forest.
"No no no", Scootaloo said concerned for hey boyfriend, then she ran off to get one of her moms friends while the mare ran off to get help.
After awhile with Spike, he landed in the Everfree Forest and smiled as he finished tieing the rope to a branch, then he started looking around realising he in the dark Forest.
He heard noises and started backing away as he looked around nervously, then his trip over something and looked to see what he tripped over.
There he saw two rotten skeleton as he can tell by the skulls that one was a mare and the other a stallion, then his eye's widen at a realisation.
"M-Mom...d-dad", he mumbled realising that he's staring at his real parents skeletons, he started backing away from them breathing heavily.
He failed to see three Timber Wolves with glowing green eye's watching him, suddenly he smelled a bad odor as he placed a hoof to his nose wondering what's causing the horrible smell.
As he was backing away while looking around, he suddenly tripped over something and saw it was a wooden paw, he turned around looking up and saw the three wooden creature staring at him like food.
"T-Timber Wolves", he said in fear, then he started running away from them as he also realised that they are the same ones that ate his parents.
With a worried Fluttershy Soarin Rainbow Dash Rarity Twilight and Pinkie, they were running or flying towards the dark forest as Spitfire was with them too worried about her nephew.
"Please be ok....please be ok", Fluttershy said to herself extremely worried about her son and hoping she can get to him in time before Timber Wolves can.
With a scared Spike running, suddenly he ran into a wall and realised he's cornered, he turned around and saw the creatures had him trapped and there was nothing he can do.
He started tearing up thinking he's gonna die and get eaten just like he's real parents and layed down while curled up into a ball in fear.
The group made it and saw Applejack running up to them confused, "what's going on, I saw a hot air balloon in the Everfree Forest and decided to investigate", the farm mare said confused.
"It's Spike, Scootaloo told me that he tried to help a mare get her air balloon, but causing it to land in the Everfree Forest with him hanging on to it", Rainbow told her friends concerned for the colt.
Then they stopped on the edge of a cliff where they can see a scared trapped Spike curled up, the Timber Wolves were about to eat him when they opened their mouths.
Fluttershy went from concerned mother, to mama bear that's willing to protect her cub in a mila second as she gritted her teeth and glared death at the creatures that were about to kill and eat her little boy.
"Get away from my son", she yelled as she flew down with speed that made Rainbow Dash Soarin Spitfire and the rest of her friends stare in shock.
She kicked the first one in the jaw hard enough to send pieces of wood everywhere and dislocated it's jaw causing it to be in pain.
Everypony decided to help out as Soarin glared at the creatures and helped his girlfriend fight them away from his son while the rest of their friends came to Spikes aid.
Spitfire and Rainbow Dash helped out too as Applejack grabbed some rocks and started kicking them towards the creatures limps dismembering them.
After awhile the creatures were nothing but sticks and piles of wood, then they got Spike and got out of the dark Forest as Rainbow Dash grabbed the air balloon.
After awhile they were at Applejack's farm as Fluttershy and Soarin hugged their traumatized son in union glad that they didn't lose him.
"T-Those were the same creatures that killed and ate my real p-parents", he said before crying and hugging his mom and dad, everypony became concerned for him.
Later that night Spike was asleep in his room and moving his head a lot, he was having another nightmare but it was different.
In Spikes nightmare, he was scared while looking around and running through the Everfree Forest at night when the only light there is, is the moon.
He suddenly stopped with wide eyes as he saw Timber Wolves eating something and ripping them about, he couldn't tell what it was.
Suddenly the creatures turned to him and he saw that they were eating his dead parents and aunt as he can see their mouths were full of blood.
They were also eating Rainbow Dash Applejack Twilight Rarity and Pinkie as they were covered in blood and missing limps like legs or wings.
"T-Their eating my family....their eating my family", he said with wide eyes and tear's and breathing heavily, it feels so real that he lost another family.
Suddenly Princess Luna came out of nowhere hugging him, but he's too traumatized to noticed it as he continued to stare at his dead half eaten family.
"It's not real little one...it's not real, it's only a bad dream", she tried to tell him, then he didn't listen and started crying that another family was gone.
"No......NO......THIS CAN'T BE HAPPENING AGAIN!, MOM DAD AUNTIES!!", he cried as the night Princess just looked down at him concerned while she continued to hug him.
Suddenly he woke up in a jolt in tear's as Fluttershy and Soarin burst through the door concerned, they saw him looking around and noticed he had a nightmare.
"Spike are you ok, what happened", the shy Pegasus asked her son concerned as her and her boyfriend rushed to the colts bed.
"I-I had a nightmare mom..I-I had a nightmare that those Timber Wolves were eating you dad Spitfire Rainbow Dash Applejack Twilight Rarity and Pinkie", he said before crying as they hugged him and he hugged back burying his teary face in his mother chest.
"I-I can't lose you guys...I don't wanna lose another family", he cried as Fluttershy and Soarin just hugged their son, they started telling him that he ain't gonna lose them and that they will always be with him no matter what.
After sniffing a few times, "mom...dad, c-can I sleep with you guys in your room", the colt asked as they nodded.
"Of course you can Spike", the shy Pegasus told her son hugging him, then all three started walking back to the bedroom.
After awhile the colt feel asleep in his parents room as Fluttershy was holding her son close, "you ain't gonna lose us Spike, we promise you", she whispered before kissing his head goodnight.
Then she gave her boyfriend a kiss goodnight too as the stallion looked at his son, "we'll protect and be here for you son, we promise you that too", he whispered before him and Fluttershy closed their eyes to sleep.
