Back in ponyville as it was noon, the 2 fillies walk home holding their hoofs singing, the two fillies were Neon and Alpha. Alpha found Neon homeless in a alleyway by sugarcube corner. Neon now lives with Alpha as they were boyfriend and girlfriend. They were singing as they were walking home from school, they were talking about their days at school.
They were then stopped as ponies galloped past them with a lot of fear. Neon looks around confused wondering why they were running past them.
“What’s going on here?” Neon asked with confusion.
“I don’t know, we should follow them” Alpha replied as they followed the group of the running ponies. The ponies stopped in front of the mayor as she was at a podium speaking to a few canterlot guards. Alpha and Neon walks up to the mayor confused of what's going on.
“Excuse me Miss.Mayor, why is everypony panicking?” Alpha asked looking up at the mayor.
“Oh, hi there Alpha” The mayor said lowering her head to Alpha’s eye level. “There has been sights and incidents of murder in the forest”. Alpha gasped in fear hearing the news the mayor was telling Alpha and Neon.
“B-But I live at the Everfree Labs that's located in the forest” Alpha said shaking a bit with fear “how am I supposed to get home?” Alpha was interrupted as more guards got in Alpha’s way. Neon walks up by Alpha and holds her hoof.
“Let’s go Alpha, we need to get home before it hits sunset” Neon said as Alpha agrees and walks with Neon into the everfree forest. The everfree forest was known to be dangerous when walking alone at night. Neon was a little scared of the everfree forest as it was hard to see due to the thick trees blocking the sun. Alpha lead the way as she wasn't scared and she knew the way to the everfree labs. Neon looked around the forest hearing owl’s cooing in the trees.
“It’s okay Neon, it’s just the owls trying to scare you” Alpha said looking at Neon with a smile. Neon looked at Alpha and trusted her from what she said as they continued through the forest. Neon then saw a odd pony stomping on a pony’s body as Neon gasped. The pony looked as it had red eyes as it was growling in anger. Neon crouched in fear as it charged towards him, but Alpha knew this will happened as she stands in front of Neon as the pony sucked in Alpha’s soul. As the pony eaten Alpha’s soul, Alpha’s body and mane turned into a grayscale color.
The pony looked at Alpha confused why she is still alive after the blow. She fled from the scene as Alpha sat on her rump looking down. Neon walked up tearing wondering if Alpha is okay.
“Alpha? A-Are you okay?” Neon said tapping on her shoulder, but she didn't respond. Neon picked up Alpha with all of his strength and carries her to the everfree labs. “I promise Alpha that I will get my revenge on who did this to you” Neon said reaching the gates, he sets her down and scans her key card on the scanner as the gates open. He runs inside carrying Alpha as he didn't want to lose Alpha.
