Chapter 30: An Unexpected turn of Events
I rush towards The Town’s square weaving between empty streets and jumping over any rubble and derby in the way.
‘Rarity better be alright’ I thin k to myself, ‘if Phantom has done anything to her….’
I see Town square dead ahead in front of me and I begin to slow my speed down and hide around the corner of a building too see if I can scan the area for Phantom
‘Were is he’ I think to myself looking around to see if I can see Rarity and Phantom
I notice Rarity on her knees with her hooves tied behind her back like Al and his family but she had a cloth tied around her mouth.
‘Probably to stop her from moaning and Whining’ I think to myself
It was only Rarity in the middle of the field with no sign of Phantom around
‘Probably a trap’ I think still looking around just in case, ‘guess it’s time to spring the trap’
I rush over to Rarity still keeping a look out for Phantom
“Rarity you alright” I say untying the ropes that kept her bound
“Shadow” cries Rarity pulling the cloth away from her mouth and wrapping her arms around my neck
“You alright Rarity” I say placing my head against hers
“Im alright but you have to leave before he comes back” says Rarity pulling away her purple mane brushing across my face
“No need to leave Shadow” says a voice from behind me, “How about you stay here and play a game with me”
I turn around and see a tall figure standing in the darkness of the Shadows
“So what you say Shadow…Wanna play” says the figure stepping out of the Shadows revealing the face of the infamous Phantom
“So you’re Phantom” I say standing on my back legs in front of Rarity, “What do you want with me anyway”
“Shadow don’t you remember me” says Phantom, “don’t tell me you forgot all about me”
“Can’t say I remember you” I say looking at him with a crocked face
“Come on Shadow, don’t you remember me from high school” says Phantom with a crazed look on his face
“Josh?” I mutter
“Ding Ding Ding, you win Shadow” giggles Phantom
“But what do you want with me” I say in confusion
“Don’t you remember Shadow…. Remember it was a Monday afternoon we had just finished period 5 Math’s and we were heading out to lunch…you didn’t really know me back then but the local bully Roger did, remember he decided that it was time to get the four hundred dollars I had brought to school that I was going to use to buy a new computer” Says Phantom bring back the memories of high school
“Remember that Roger decide to beat me in front of the entire school not even the teachers or principle would stop the fight…and if it wasn’t for you stepping in I would have been killed and I would never have seen that four hundred dollars I spent months saving up”
“Then why are you trying to kill Shadow for” says Rarity standing up from behind me
“Cause Shadow here promised me that day when ether I need help against bullies you would be there and help me but remember that one day I was been beaten behind the library and where were you…ha were where you…you let me get beaten to a pulp and you and ever since that day I’ve decide that you are my number one enemy in the world”
“But that’s not Shadow’s Fault” yells Rarity
“Oh I left out the important part” says Phantom face hoofing himself, “your knight in shining armor here was at school he was but he decided that I was more appropriate to walk pass me and instead chase after some girl”
“That’s not what happened” I yell
“Lies all Lies” screams Phantom, “now die”
Phantom lunges at me ready to strike me down with a flying punch, it was a simple enough move to dodge but if I did it wouldn’t be me getting hit it would be Rarity. I had to stand my ground and take whatever impact was coming my way
“OMMFF” I moaned as his punch connect with my stomach knocking me onto my knees
“Come on Shadow fight back…it’s more fun when you fight back” shouts Phantom readying another punch aimed at my face
“Rarity Run” I whisper to her
“No point” laughs Phantom
“RUN!!!!” I shout standing up and landing a punch in his face
“Aggh” screams Phantom as he falls back
I turn to see Rarity running but she falls to her knees in pain
“Rarity!” I scream rushing over to her, “What’s wrong” noticing she is holding her stomach
“I don’t wanna alarm you but my water just broke” says Rarity looking into my eyes
“Oh my Celestia Rarity” I say in excitement
“Oh how touching…Shadow’s going to be a father” says Phantom walking over to us both, “Alright im going to be your Celestia or whatever you call your god…Im going to allow you to take your fiancé here to the hospital out of kindness you had shown me that day but come tomorrow at warehouse 22 in canterlot is where we will finish things for good”
Next thing I know a puff of black smoke surrounds were Phantom had just stood
“AGGGHHH, Shadow I need the Hospital NOW” screams Rarity
“Don’t worry Rarity I’ll get you there” I say grabbing Rarity in my forelegs, “Hold on”
I begin to fly with Rarity in my arms as fast as I did when I was racing Dash
“How far away is the hospital from here?” I ask Rarity
“It’s at least a couple of hours and I don’t think we will make it” moans Rarity
“We have to make it” I say trying to fly faster
I suddenly have an idea and change the course of where we are going
“Were are we going Shadow” moans Rarity in more pain
“Were going to Sweet Apple Acres”
“What….Why?”
“Applejack will be able to help because at this rate we won’t make it to the hospital”
“you better be right” moans Rarity squeezing her arms around my neck even tighter
We finely reach Sweet Apple Acres and I burst through their front door where im greeted by Twilight, Dash, Fluttershy and Applejack
“Hey Shadow…What’s wrong with Rarity” asks Twilight
“Well…Rarity’s Water broke and she’s kind of having the baby now” I say
“And why in tarnation did you bring her here for” questions Applejack
“It is too far away to the Hospital in canterlot so I was hoping that any ponies you saved are doctors or nurses” I say looking around the room, “By the way glad to see your all safe but, where is Pinkie Pie?”
“She’s…Um…Keeping the guest occupied” says Fluttershy softly
“Where are the guests” I say to Applejack
“There in the barn” she replies
“Okay I’ll be back soon” I say rushing out the front door into the barn
The barn was crowded with tons of helpless ponies that had survived the attack early this week
“Okay any pony here a doctor” I yell trying to be heard within the crowed
The next thing I hear is Pinkie Pie yell at the top of her lungs “IS ANY PONY HERE A DOCTOR…IF SO GO TO THE FRONT OF THE BARN”
“Thanks Pinkie” I say smiling and nodding in gratitude
I was approached by several doctors within the barn
“So what is the problem” ask one of the doctors
“My fiancé is having a baby right now and I need a doctor immediately”
“Well I don’t deal with pregnancies” said all but one nurse
“Well lucky for you I do” said the cream colored nurse with soft yellow hair
I showed her the way to the house were Rarity laid on the couch panting and moaning at the pain
“Okay step aside” said the Nurse let me do my work, “Okay miss my name is Nurse Jenny im going to help you give birth to your foal…Okay on three push as hard as you can”
“One….two….three”
“AAAAAGGGGHHHHH” moaned Rarity pushing for dear life
“Okay keep pushing… would you mind getting me some towels”
“Sure” said Dash quickly zooming of and come back quickly with a bunch of towels
“Thank you….Keep pushing”
“AGGHHH…Twilight don’t you know a spell that would stop this from hurting so much” moans Rarity
“Im sorry Rarity but I can’t cast any spells that will help during pregnancy because it may affect the baby”
After hours of Rarity screaming and moaning in pain the new born baby was finally delivered
“Congratulations…you have yourself a lovely baby boy” says the Nurse wrapping a towel around the new born
“Oh he’s so cute” said Fluttershy softly
“Shadow we have our own little baby boy” smiles Rarity in excitement, “what are we going to call him?”
“I look outside and see the sun begin to fade away and the moon beginning to rise.
“How about Dusk”
“Dusk…I like that little baby Dusk” smile Rarity rocking Dusk from side to side
“Well I’ll leave you all to it” smiles the nurse leaving through the front door
“You wanna hold him” asks Rarity
“Alright” I say placing little baby Dusk in my arms
“Hey boy, hows it going…” I say tickling his belly while rocking him from side to side
“Hey Rarity if you don’t mind I was hoping to go to bed” I say noticing she has already drifted of to sleep, “guess that answered my question”
“Hey Applejack do you have a crib were Dusk could sleep for the night”
“Yeah we have Applebloom’s ol’ Crib in the guest bedroom” replies Applejack
“Thanks for everything you guys, I mean it I would have made it around PonyVille without all of your help” I say walking off into the guest room
I place Dusk into the old crib and say goodnight before hoping into the guest bed and drifting off to sleep
