Chapter 28: New Yorke Adventures
We head inside New Yorke without knowing where to look for Alexia Jordson.
“Okay so where do we start” I say looking around for a building or a billboard displaying her name
“Uhhh…to put it this way I don’t know” says Dash
“Yeah I don’t know ever” says Applejack, “I never go to big cities like this”
“Yeah I kind of figured this would happen” I sigh, “Well this is going to take a while”
“Well you lucky you have a capital city filly like me around to show you the way” says Vinyl walking in front of us all,
“Well lead the way then Vinyl” I say standing beside Vinyl
“Okay but keep close…you don’t wanna get lost in this city” says Vinyl lifting her glasses of her face and placing them on top of her white horn
We follow Vinyl in a tight pack, as if we were afraid to fall behind or get lost in this monster of a city.
“How long until we are there” moans Dash
“Just a little further Dash” giggles Vinyl getting used to the complaints of Dash, “Here we are”
We walk down to the end of the street and see a massive building with Alexia Jordson wedding styles written in cursive. We walk up the stairs to see a view of the main lobby through a glass revolving door decorated with all kinds of assortments
“Well thanks Vinyl for escorting us here” I smile
“No problems but this is how far I can go” says Vinyl turning to walk down the stairs
“Why’d that be” asks Applejack
“I got a concert on tonight so I I’ve got to go and set up my gear and help with getting the stage ready”
“Oh yeah I completely forgot about that” I say face hoofing myself, “Well how do we get out of New Yorke from here?”
“Umm…Just take a left here and follow the street and you should find your way out” says Vinyl making hoof gestures of were to go
“Well I guess I’ll see you around” I smile
“Well, if you save PonyVille that is” Says Vinyl with a little Smile
“I…better get going don’t want to waste what valuable time we have”
“Yeah, see ya all later”
“Bye Vinyl” says Dash and Applejack as she walks off
“Oh Shadow” says Vinyl
“Hmmm”
“Make sure you survive”
“Hey, Vinyl sounds like you’re getting soft on me” I smile
“No nothing like that just…Don’t die yet…I got to kill you myself for rating me out to Dash” smiles Vinyl with a mischievous smile
“Will Do” I nod
Vinyl begins trotting off and Dash, Applejack and I walk inside of Alexia Jordson Wedding styles.
“Hello Ladies and Gentlecolt how may I be of service today” says a light blue earth pony behind the counter
“Um…. I have an appointment with Miss Jordson today about a wedding Dress for my Wife”
“Surname Please”
“Shadow”
“Uh yes…Miss Lady Rarity has asked for quite an expensive wedding dress… but it does sort her taste” says the receptionist
“Yeah you could say that again” I smile placing my forelegs on the counter, “so how do you know Rarity?”
“Me and Lady Rarity are pretty good friends and im also one of Rarity’s Bridesmaids at the wedding”
“Oh so I guess she’s already started sending out the invitations”
“Yep I got one last night will we were talking over the phone” replies the Receptionist, “Uh Miss Jordson is waiting for you”
I walk over to were another filly was waiting to escort us to Alexia Jordson but I turn around to ask a friendly question to the receptionist
“Hey, what’s your name by the way?”
“The names Amethyst
“Well I guess I’ll see you at the wedding Amethyst” I say turning around to the escorting filly
“This way Sir” she says begin to walk off
“Come on Applejack and Dash” I say noticing them sitting on the lounge in the lobby
“If you don’t mind me I’ll be stayin’ here until you come back” says Applejack
“Same here… I’ll wait until your finished Shadow” yawns Rainbow Dash ready to fall asleep at any moment
“Alright then” I say following the other filly
We walk through a serious of corridors and rooms before finally reach the main office of Alexia Jordson
“Here we are Sir” says the filly while opening the door
“Thanks”
I walk into Alexia Jordson’s office and see a yellow unicorn with a scarlet red mane
“Hello Mr. Shadow, I hear you are here to pick up a wedding dress for lady Rarity” She says turning to face me
“Yep that’s me” I smile
“Ah… you look a lot different to what I expected you to be” says Alexia in surprise, “how about you sit down and we will work out the paperwork”
“Sure” I say sitting down on a red swirl chair
“Well as you know this dress is the pinnacle of the wedding designer industries and it comes at a high price as well”
“Yeah I know Rarity explained all this to me before I set out for New Yorke”
“Alright this is where sign then” says Alexia Jordson giving me the paperwork and a blue pen.
I begin to sigh the paperwork and hand it back to Alexia when i finished
“Alright follow me then” says Alexia jumping out of her chair
We head down another serious of corridors and rooms until we wind up in a room were the wedding dress of my future wife sat on top of a mannequin.
“Wow…It looks much more spectacular than the pictures” I say in astonishment
“Of course it does…Im the one how made it after all” boasts Alexia
“Rarity will be speechless when she sees this” I say walking around the dress
“Well there is the requirement of payment before you can have the dress” says Alexia getting serious all of a sudden
“Oh yeah sure…How much”
“10,000 bits please”
“Well this should do” I say taking off one of my bags and tipping it out on a nearby table
“Ah Rarity has been saving for years I see” smiles Alexia
“Of course” I smile back
“Well there is 12,000 bits here so you get to keep 2,000 bits” says Alexia placing the remaining two thousand into the bag
“Well… Is there any way I could safely transport this back to PonyVille
“Well there is a carriage company that could take you back to PonyVille from here…Let me give them a call”
Alexia Jordson walks over to the phone and starts punching in the phone number for the carriage company and places the call on speaker
“Hello this is George from New Yorke Carriage Company, we travel to any destination” says George sluggishly
“Hello…I would like to hire a carriage from Alexia Jordson Wedding styles, New Yorke to PonyVille” says Alexia
“Sure we will dispatch a Carriage there right away ma’am… it should be there within five minutes” says George with the same sluggish tone
“Thank you George” says Alexia as it was to lighten up his day, “Well as you heard your carriage will be here soon, so you better go and wait outside for it”
“Yeah…Thanks for the Wedding Dress Rarity will be ecstatic”
“Of course she will be any Fashionesta would be” boasts Alexia
“Hey you never told me how you know Rarity” i say with a interested look on my face
“Well…she has made a couple of dresses for me when I don’t have the time or equipment to use”
“Oh okay…Well thanks again” I say placing the dress across my back carefully so it doesn’t touch the ground
“No worries”
I begin to head back to the main lobby, which felt like it took five minutes to reach
“Alright Dash and Applejack time to go” I say heading directly for the Carriage waiting outside, “we have a town to save”
We carefully place the dress inside the carriage making sure nothing will destroy or harm the dress because if something did Phantom wouldn’t be the one we need to worry about.
I sat beside the dress just in case it fell of the seat with Dash and Applejack sitting on the other side
“Are we ready to go sir” says the carriage driver
“Sure…Is it possible you could get to PonyVille the fastest way possible” I say eager to get back
“Got a case of the fiancé blues?” jokes the driver
“Yeah something like that” I say softly
We begin travelling in the carriage back to PonyVille and according to the position of the sun it was about mid afternoon
“Hey guys, we better get some rest because we have a big fight on our hands tomorrow” I say softly
“Yeah we better” says Applejack leaning up against the left side of the carriage placing her hat over eyes
“Hey Shadow” says Dash softly
“Yeah Dash” I reply while looking down at the ground
“You think about tomorrow” asks Dash
“Yeah…I just hope everypony is okay” I say even softer
“Yeah me to” says Dash, “Well look on the bright side at least you got me and Applejack to help you
“Hmm…I’m sorry for bringing you into all this” i say looking into Dash’s eyes, “It’s all my fault that this is even happening”
“It’s no one’s fault that any pony has the intentions to harm others”
“But, if I never came to PonyVille this Phantom would never have been here and PonyVille would be alright”
“And if you didn’t come to PonyVille, you wouldn’t be getting married in two weeks, you wouldn’t have a little filly coming along, you probably wouldn’t have friends that are as loyal and trustworthy as us.
“Hmm…that’s true” I say a little smile appearing on my face
“Shadow I Promise you when we arrive in PonyVille everything will work out” comforts Dash
“Yeah I hope your right Dash” I reply softly with the thought of Rarity being hurt or worse flowing through my mind
“Well we better get some rest…we don’t want you to be tired again tomorrow”
“Yeah you should try to sleep as well” smiles Dash leaning up against the right side of the carriage
I lean up against the carriage to attempt to get some rest before we arrive in PonyVille, It may have not looked like it at the time but I was scared as hell, not knowing what to expect when we arrived or what I was about to face.
‘Im sorry Rarity, I never should have come to PonyVille and none of this would have happened’ I think to myself, ‘I pray to Celestia you are safe’
