Twenty five years passed since the presence of humans came to the land of equestria since then the human civilizations has expanded to where they control the east coast provinces and some of the north provinces. The ponies have advanced in technology by examining human weaponry thanks to this they have been able to upgrade their armies to the point where they can hold their own. Though they now have advanced weaponry for their troops towns and villages get little to no protection. The war between the two was beginning to lead into a long and decisive war that may well go on for decades more, Something must change.
(We join a mercenary by the name of Kris who is currently under fire in the everfree forest.)
*Gunfire* "Jesus Christ what the hell!?"
A bandit calls out "come on out buddy we just want your crap, we promise we wont hurt you"
Kris replies vulgariously "Go to hell" and tosses a grenade at the bandits. Then Kris attempts to escape. Another bandit notices the explosive "GRENADE!!" the bandits scatter but one, the bandit then shoots off his rifle and hits Kris in the lower leg. Kris cries out in pain as he rolls down a hill and out of the forest, as Kris's vision starts getting blurry he notices a figure walk towards him.
A quite voice talks "are you okay mister?" Before Kris could respond he fainted from the whiplash of falling down the hill.
Kris wakes up to the smell of tea and the feeling of fur on his legs "argh where am I?" A whimper comes from the fur on his legs, as his vision comes back theres an old labrador retriever staring him in the eyes. Kris extends his hand and presents it to the canine. The dog smelled kris's hand and knulssled his palm "hello there big boy. Do you know where I am?" The dog then jumps down and runs into another room as kris tries to stand he notices his wound had been patched up, kris then limps over to the other room where he sees a yellow pegasus pony with a pink mane making tea. Kris speaks up "um....hi there."
The yellow pegasus backs up and cowards in a corner she quitely talks "please dont hurt me I wont tell anypony about you just dont kill me."
Kris sits there across from the scared pony and responds "kill you why would I kill the person who rescued me, my names Kris and yours is?"
The shy pegasus whispers "fluttershy"
kris smiles "well then fluttershy where am I and how did I get here?"
The pony emerged from the corner and said "this is my home I found you wounded right outside the everfree forest."
Kris then asks "so are you the one who treated my wound?"
Fluttershy shook "no it wasnt me it was my pet rabbit angel."
Kris sits there confused "a rabbit fixed my leg?"
fluttershy then nodded "yep he is trained in medical work he got lessons from nurse Redheart."
Kris shrugs his shoulders and then sighs "well then I..." his stomach then growls real loud.
The pony notices the growl "are you hungry when the last time you ate?"
Kris mummbled "Um..yesterday morning I believe."
The curious mare stepped back and said "my well I'm heading out to the market would you care to join?"
Kris stands up "YES!" but then collaspses "ow but first if I could get a krutch that would be nice." Fluttershy giggled and brought kris a krutch "alright you ready"
Fluttershy shook "yeah lets go." The two headed down into the market where they were greeted by sneers and gloomy faces."I wonder whats wrong with every pony" asked fluttershy.
Kris replied "its cause I'm here just like how you coward in the kitchen that fear that anger is the same as I'm receiving right now."
Fluttershy answered "but your not a bad man."
Kris smiled "I appreciate that Fluttershy but these ponies are gonna need proof that I'm not bad." Kris then asked "do you mind if I go explore the market I need to see if they got what I'm looking for."
The mare tilts her head and says "okay but don't get in trouble kay?"
Kris bowed "Yes of course miss." Kris walked off looking for a blacksmith he came across a booth with a stallion selling various amounts of swords and other battle equipment. One of these weapons catches Kris's eye "I'll take that sword, sir." The man lays a 2ft long wakashi katana made of Damascus steel.
The man responded "that'll be 1'800 bits and we'll throw in a strap for you to hold onto your back."
Kris shakes the mans hoof "you have yourself a deal good man." Kris regroups with Fluttershy by the entrance he asked "were you able to get everything?" Fluttershy nods. Kris takes a step and loses his balance falling on Fluttershy "I'm so sorry Fluttershy you okay?"
"yes I'm okay you" Before Kris can say a word a hoof connects to his face launching him into a vacant booth.
Kris emerges from the rubble "ahh shit what the fuck was that!?" He looks up to find a light blue pegasus with a rainbow mane staring at him.
The pony screams at Kris with a intimidating voice "stay away from Fluttershy you filthy little ape or ill rip off your arms!" Fluttershy stops the blue pony and demands her to stop. "Fluttershy why was this human with you what was he after your money, your virginity, or was he after your life."
The yellow pony got up and bucked her friend "that's my friend Kris he just fell on me cause of his wounded leg."
Kris barely conscious "Fluttershy..i-is this your friend?"
The mare sighed "sadly yes, her name is rainbow dash, she was just trying to protect me."
Kris replied "well if shes not going to say sorry maybe she can carry me back to your house." Fluttershy stared into the rainbow pony's eyes.
"Fine ill take him back"
Kris arguably responds "im sill waiting for an apology."
Rainbow Dash sighs and says "im sorry for hurting you I was just protecting her from harm."
Kris smiles "thats okay, you dont need to carry me I got it." The group heads for fluttershys house where kris sees a group of mares gathered by the house they stand there confused as they see a human walking around their town with two of their friends with him.
A purple unicorn approaches and asks "who are you?"
Kris answers "my name is Kris and I'm a mer~" before kris could finish a explosion along with gunfire goes off in the town Kris stunned "What was that!?"
A white pony speaks up "they're back"
"Whose back?" asked Kris.
"Bandits, they have been coming here plundering our shops stealing our fabrics and bits." The purple maned mare said as she stared at the smoke coming from the market. Rainbow dash then opened up the door to the house to where she told everone to get inside before someone does something stupid. Everyone nods and walks in.
"So now that everyponys here you want to tell us why a human is here." asked a orange pony with a cowgirl hat but nothing else. Fluttershy explains all the turn of events leading from finding Kris knocked out and wounded next to the everfree forest to the point where rainbow bucked his face in.
"So is he nice or is he like all the other scumbag humans" said the purple unicorn.
The orange pony look shocked and said "Twilight how could you say that, that's discrimination."
Kris stopped the orange pony "she's right we humans are scumbags, but most of us are very kind and harmless, unlike those bandits out there."
Twilight turned and said "well this town has had enough problems with humans, begone by tomorrow or ill report you to the royal guard."
Kris chuckled "the royal guard hahahaha the royal guard won't do nothing!"
Twilight's face got red "what are you laughing at, the royal guard will throw you in prison for trespassing."
Kris grabbed the mares horn pulled her face in and stated "if the royal guard cared about this town then why haven't I've seen a single guard around, and also why would there be a group of bandits wreaking havoc across your lands, CAUSE THE ROYAL GUARD COULD CARE LESS!!!.......I see I'm no longer wanted ill be leaving"
Fluttershy then grabbed Kris's hand "please don't leave she'll say sorry."
Kris kneed down to the pony grabbed her hoof. "Don't worry I'll be back and everything will be much better." So Kris left ponyville slipping pass the bandits and making his way through the everfree forest.
A week passes and Fluttershy is at the market with her friends Fluttershy sighs and the orange pony says "hey honey whats bothering you?"
"its Kris its been a week and he hasn't been seen or heard of since he left, what if the bandits got him they could be torturing him or worse."
Twilight turned to the sad little pony "where ever he is I hope no "pony" is getting hurt."
A man then bashes the bud of his shotgun down upon Twilight's head knocking her out. "Well would you guys look at that looks like I've caught us dinner tonight." A loud laughter comes from behind the booths as a group of large humans appear and start beating up on the poor knocked out mare. The ponies soon rush over to help their friend, but stops when one of the bandits shoots off his gun."Now you little cunts stay still" the man then points his gun at the pink pony's head "we'll show you what happens to little horses when they act tough." His finger touches the trigger and the ponies stand their helpless."die!"
The bandit aimed the gun and in the blink of an eye a hooded man slices off the bandit's hand. Shortly after jeeps and buses carrying armed humans and ponies jump out and started a firefight with the bandits. The hooded man grabs the unconscious mare "come on guys follow me!" The ponies trot away behind one of the buses where they lie their friend down. "I must go to my men, you guys stay hidden. MEDIC!!" A armored mare ran over." Now listen this pony was whacked hard in the head with a shotgun then beaten up when down, check for head trauma, and internal bleeding. I want you to get jack and rick to protect this five can you do that?" The man then ran into battle howling orders and giving a moral speech "alright men leave no bandit alive, these bandits are things that give us mercenaries a bad rep lets show them what we can do and free this town from their brutal ways!" The men all cheered and pushed the bandits into the open where all of them were killed in a circle of bullets. The men all stand up with a smile on their faces relieved the battle was over. The hooded man then says "men great job a successful takedown with no injuries, but our work isn't over lets rebuild the damages."
Ponies start coming out their houses to find a bunch of humans and ponies packing up their weapons and grabbing tools to fix the booths and buildings that were damaged in the battle. The masked man then walked over to the five mares who were gathered around their friend.
The purple maned pony runs up to the man and bows "thank you very much sir my names Rarity might I ask the name of our hero?"
The man laughed "calm down rarity I'm no hero I'm just a mercenary paying back his debts" the mare sits their confused as the man slips off his hood.
Fluttershy's mouth widens "KRIS!" And tackles kris to the ground "I thought you were never gonna come back."
"Well I had to repay my debt to you, you saved my life now I saved yours. We even now?"
The yellow pegasus smiled and hugged the man "yes, yes we are."
"Fantastic, just amazing" a pony of an elder age walks over "thank you kind sir you saved my village from those awful bandits, as the mayor I would like to give you something, but since the raids I have nothing for your trouble."
Kris smiled "well I have an idea how about you can repay us. Let us set up our HQ here. Not only would you have able men helping out your village we are willing to provide you some protection against any threats."
The mayor thinks it over for a minute "we do need some protection and there has been a lot of damage since the raids. Okay you got yourself a deal you provide us with protection and we'll provide you with an HQ and a reasonable pay check."
The men all cheer and one of the 6 mares hops onto a stage and says "lets all celebrate with a PINKIE PIE CELEBRATION!!!!" Music comes on and everyone starts partying and having the times of their life.
"As we do this I will need a name of your group"
Kris holds up his drink and shouts out "TO THE FREE WILLS!!
