Time

Rainbow Dash trotted through Cloudsdale, slowly. Few things were different. The schools were mostly the same, the weather factory hadn't changed a bit, and the memories to be reaped were all too clear. It all made her unhappy.

Stupid magic, stupid spells. She just had to go playing with things she doesn't understand. There was nothing fun about having been sent 10 years back in the past. Well, almost nothing. The daredevil paused, and watched from a distance, as she spied two ponies playing together, in the clouds. One filly bore the unmistakable awesomeness that was her own. There was the cool rainbow mane, along with the bright, flashy cutie mark. The other filly was no doubt her best friend. Adorable, pink mane, and shy demeanor. Rainbow Dash watched the two of them play together, simultaneously recalling the very day she was currently witnessing, in the recesses of her memory. She stood, watching, thinking, as her past self had fun with her best friend. In the silence, though, Rainbow Dash simply hoped that when she returned to her own time, she would have the courage to admit her feelings.

The two fillies took a moment's rest, having played the day away in a long haze of joy. They simply lay on their cloud, not far above the city.

"Hey, Fluttershy?"

"Yes, Rainbow?"

"Do you ever think about the future?"

"The future?"

"Yeah, the future. You know, like 10, 15 years from now, when we're both full-grown ponies".

"Yes, I do. Probably more than I should, actually".

"And what do you think it'll be like?"

"Well, I don't really know. But, I hope that, at least, you're there".

The rainbow filly grinned. "I'll always be there, shy".
