Escaping From Reality

Chapter Two

Twilight, Spike, and I made our way to the train station, stopping along the way at Sugar Cube Corner, because we hadn't eaten breakfast yet, which is where I met Pinkie Pie.

She tried to get a “Welcome Back to Equestria” party ready for me, even though she didn't know about me at all, because Twilight forgot to tell her about me, claiming that she was busy.

Luckily Twilight grabbed Pinkie's tail with with her magic and stopped her. Apparently Twilight doesn't want anyone to know about me yet and she made Pinkie do a pinkie promise to prevent from telling anyone.

Anyways with that over we got to the train station and bought our tickets. For some reason we got four tickets, an extra.

“Why do we have an extra ticket?” I inquired, thinking about who may be coming with us, “Is there somepony else coming with us?”

“Maybe. It all depends on whether or not you’ve been discovered and if your enemies will act on it if you have any at all,” Twilight explained. “If they do so something about it then you can change to get away, but if you get back to the train and you are seen before you can change back you can give them the other ticket.”

I considered this. “Okay, that makes sense,” I said slowly, “but what if it turns out we don't need it?

Twilight bit her lip, then sighed. “Well better safe than sorry, right?”

I considered this for a moment and said, “Yeah that
makes sense, but what if I have to change multiple times?”

“Hmm, I guess just stick with your pegasus form?” Twilight mused. “That way you can have an easy escape out a window and get back seemingly as that same pony.”

“Okay, good idea, but I don't really want to change just, yet. I'll only change if I need to. Also there isn't really anywhere to do it without anypony seeing me right now”

“Oh, right!” Twilight laughed. “Oops!”

“ALL ABOARD!”

The train arrived. We all went aboard it and sat down in an empty compartment.

All in all though the ride went pretty smoothly. We talked about what Canterlot is like and how Celestial is like as a pony.

As a bonus I also got to see the cool scenery between Ponyville and Canterlot.

We started walking up to Canterlot Castle was and where the princesses lived. We encountered many nobles along the way. Unfortunately they were pretty much all snobs, because whenever I happened to be in their way and they walked into me they were very rude about it, saying that “I should watch where I was going.”

I don't think I'm going to like any of the nobles here.

When we made it to the front of the castle the we were met the Royal Guard. They stepped aside and bowed.

“Princess Twilight Sparkle, welcome,” They chorused, before standing back up.

One of them stepped forward and asked quizzically, “But what are you doing here, princess? We weren't told if your arrival.”

Twilight face hoofed, “Ugh, oh right. I knew I forgot something.”

I got a little confused. “But I thought you didn't want anyone to know we were coming.”

Twilight sighed, “Well, I didn't want anyone to know about specifically, except for the princess, but I did want her know we were coming so she could get ready.”

“Okay,” I said slowly. “So when do we go inside?”

The same guard from before stepped up again to answer, “Unfortunately since you have failed to contact the princess you will have to wait until the day court is over. You can wait in your old room, when you were living here, if you would like or you can stay with your parents.”

Twilight takes a glance at me and sighs, “As much as I would like to catch up with my family, I would also like as little people as possible to know about this.”

“That's understandable, but with all due respect, you are a princess right? Anypony would recognize you trotting around Canterlot at this time of day.”

Twilight blushed a little, “Oh! It was a disguise spell I created that lets select ponies see me as myself and everypony else as a random passerby.

“Hmm, given your status as a guard I could teach you the spell later for any stealth missions your ponis decide to undertake.”

The guard rubbed his chin, “Well, that would be useful. Yes, it would be an honor to learn from you, Princess. Thank you”

That was when I realized something. “Your ponies?” I asked speaking to the guard. “Are you a high ranking guard?”

“Yes,” She puffed out her chest. “In fact I am second in command here. I am Lieutenant Sweet Heart, but don't let the name fool you I can easily beat you if I have to.”

To this Twilight started giggling. “Oh, I don't think you'll be beating Stargazer. If you are ever unfortunate enough to face him that is.”

“Is that so?” Asked Sweet Heart. “Well I guess I gotta see him in action first.” She had a wide grin on her face. “I guess I have something to look forward to.”

“Well,” I said, “You may have to wait, because I am not exactly up to par right now, since I lost my memory.” At this Sweet Heart raised her eyebrows, but chose not to say anything. “Although, I think I still have some muscle memory of this, so there is a chance you may see it if I am in danger.”

“I see,” She replied. “Well, in any case I've held you up too long. You can go up to your room. The princess requested that we left it the way you was when you left.”

“Okay, see you later,” I told her.

“Bye” Twilight said as she rejoined the conversation.

“Yeah, see you around.” Sweet Heart waved us goodbye.

Twilight started walking and I followed to what assumed was the direction of the room she stayed in when she was learning as Celestia's personal student.

Before we got 20 feet, however, Sweet Heart started calling out to us, “Wait! The princess has requested to see you two right now.”

So we walked back over and the doors to the castle started opening. We walked through the long hallway inside and came to another set of double doors.

Inside I saw Celestia sitting on her throne. She turned to the doors.

She took one look at me and narrowed her eyes.

“Guards! Take that pony down to the dungeons right away!”
