A sound almost like wind, but wasn’t was heard near the Castle of the Two Sisters. At the time there just a dirt patch was replaced with a big blue box with the label , “POLICE PHONE BOX" on top of it. On the door, it also read in bold letters, “PULL TO OPEN” along with other instructions. A brown stallion wearing a fancy black trench coat of sorts stepped out of the box and took a breath. He walked down the stairs to the Tree of Harmony.
“Oh come out,” The Doctor shouted, “The Doctor will see you now!”
Then Twilight appeared but wasn’t her. Instead, it was the physical image the Tree uses to communicate with others.
“Doctor?”, the Tree asked, “I thought you were Time Turner.”
“That is a nickname I used to blend in with ponies,” The Doctor explained, “In terms of conversation I won't call you Tree of Harmony, what should I call you instead?”
“Harmony will do nicely,” it said with humbleness and then squinted her eyes at him, “I do sense more from you, Doctor. I sense loss.”
The image of Twilight Harmony was using went from being happy to sad. Harmony then switched to Fluttershy for such matters as this.
“I'm sorry for your loss,” it said
“Losses,” The Doctor corrected with great sadness in his voice, “But Thanks.”
“From the sound of your voice,” Harmony said switching to Rarity, “You are old.”
“ I am about three thousand years old give or take, I lose track sometimes”, The Doctor said turning his back on the tree look up towards the sky as if looking at the stars, “I'm older then some civilianization, at this point.”
“Dear Doctor, you talk of eons and thousands of years. And yet, I too am millennia old, older than I care to think, and older than my thought thereof”, The tree stated, while using one of its roots to touch the Doctor's forehead.
“What do you know of –”
Before the Doctor finished his sentence, the Tree touched his forehead and probed his forehead. The Tree saw some human females. Some of them die, leaving his life, or forgetting him. The Tree also saw all the Doctor’s regenerations. Including one of a terrible war that with his race that was against another that was pure evil that made Harmony scared like a little foal to a clown. She saw other things the Doctor, himself wasn't pound of doing, as well. Harmony had enough, and the root retreated into the soil like a frightened child. Then for a minute, the Tree went black as if almost went into to shock.
The Doctor touched the tree, to consult it. When the tree touched the Doctor, it created it a pathway to see The Doctor’s memories, but it also created a pathway to see Harmony’s ’ memories as well. The Doctor saw how Tree chooses it Twilight as its link after the Rainboom event and he also saw how much Harmony and Discord were of the need to this world. One can’t exist without the other like a symbolic circle and that ’s why Twi and Harmony both hate Discord with a passion, they are opposites. That is also why Discord was in stone and not banished, that is because of that symbolic link.
“I understand you never saw death before,” he said sadly, “For that, I apologize, but I also understand…”
“You understand nothing Doctor!” Harmony said with her avatar being Nightmare Moon
The Doctor was unphased by this and still had a calm attitude, and he straighten his coat.
“I understand that you are but a mere child. However, I made you see those precise memories because I knew like a child that you would be curious about me. I also wanted you to understand that if I learn anything in my enteral walk of the universe is true friendship comes with loss. Especially with immortals like out selves”, The Doctor explained
“I'm sorry,” Harmony said switching her appearance to that of Fluttershy, “Its just that I never experience lost before and you have a million times over.”
“I'm come out wiser out of the friends I have made because of it. I once thought was alone for the longest time, then a truly dear friend of mine once said to me I have the biggest family the universe”, The Doctor said with caring tone his voice, “And she was and always will be right.”
“Wise words indeed Doctor,” Harmony complimented him
“Now tell me I been wondering this for the longest time. You and Princess Twilight are linked yes?”, The Doctor said pointing at her
Harmony switched her appearance to that of Twilight and nodded in response.
“Does that mean Twilight is immortal?”, The Doctor asked
Harmony turned her back on the Doctor and bit her non-existing lips and was hesitant to answer. Harmony knew one of these days Twilight, herself, was going to ask that question along with several others. Harmony was the very reason why Twilight and the others saved Equestria time and time again. In a way, it just likes the Doctor, and his TARDIS saving the universe and countless worlds throughout time and space.
Harmony sighed and said, “Yes. However, her friends are not. I also understand she and I have the biggest challenge yet to come, that is the lesson of loss and how Twilight will deal with it . Either she will become the worst villain Equestria has ever seen or rise better from it and become even wiser then her mentor would ever hope for.”
“If Twilight does become a villain, then I will have to stop her, from herself, or Celestia will. I have feeling deep in my hearts she will become a villain because you know, that I know, she grew up sheltered and hadn’t experienced loss or even death like her friend Applejack”, The Doctor said with bitterness
The Doctor sighed, chuckled and said, “I remember meeting Pear Butter and Bright Mace once there nice people. I do see where AJ got her honesty from.”
“Ya could have saved them,” Harmony said switching to Applejack
The Doctor gritted his teeth and said, “I couldn’t because their deaths are a fixed point in Ponyville’s timelines. If I saved them , it could have case untold damage on both time and space. Trust me that thought entered my mind for the most felting of moments, but then I came to that conclusion. “
The TARDIS phone than ringing and the Doctor smiled
“Well duty calls, just make sure Twilight learns the lesson of loss before its too late!”, he said running to his TARDS
“I will!”, Harmony’s avatar shouted back before disappearing
The Doctor entered the TARDIS and just like it was there one moment it was gone the next. Not leaving a trace of its existence, leaving Harmony with fear of future for Twilight.
