The next morning, Apple Bloom woke up with a huge smile and jumped out of bed and started making, she was excited to meet her cousin again.
After awhile Applejack Granny Smith and Big Mac was making sure everything is set for the family reunion, "is everything set big brother", Applejack asked smiling as he check and nodded.
"Eeyup", he said smiling as Apple Bloom ran off towards the town to get her friends and boyfriend so they can meet her family as well.
An hour later the family showed up as Babs was confused as to where her cousin was, "Apple Bloom still hasn't shown up yet", Applejack asked coming up to her as she shook her head no.
Then that cowpony groaned, "where the heck is she", she said to herself annoyed and started walking away to check on the rest of the family.
After awhile, "sorry we are late Babs, my friend Spike here had chores", she heard Apple Bloom say as her eye's widen at the name.
She turned and saw her cousin and friends with three colts, but one was a colt that she never thought she see again as he stared at her in shock.
"Spike", she said in shock with wide eyes as Applejack trotted up to them.
"Babs....wait, if your here, then...oh no", he said before he was scooped up in a hug by Babs folks, he was trying to get out as everypony looked in shock, including the Crusaders and Applejack.
"Spike...we are so glad we found you...what happened to you and why are you in Ponyville", Mrs Seed said and asked as she was nuzzling him with a happy smile.
The colt was able to get out of their hugs, then he backed away from them glaring as they became confused.
"Spike...it's us...Amy and Jim Seed", Amy said confused looking at the angry colt wondering why he's angry at them. (yes I know the names are human but I couldn't think of pony names for Babs folks)
"Stay away from me, both of you's", he said glaring through grit teeth, then he ran off as they tried to call him but he ignored them.
"Babs...how do you know Spike", Apple Bloom asked confused as her friends and boyfriend wants to know too, especially Scootaloo.
"Well...you remember how we been writing to each other cuz", she said looking down as the filly nodded.
"Well...he's my friend...my only friend in Manehattan and we knew each other for years", Babs told them as they were shocked.
"Wait...so he's the colt that you sometimes mentioned in the letters", Apple Bloom said in even more shocked.
"A week after we showed him the Equestrian Daily News Paper that rescue ponies found his dead parents in the Everfree Forest, he ran away without letting us know...we had the officer's in the city search for him and after two months, we just accepted that he was long gone and left the city", Amy told them frowning as the Crusaders were shocked.
"Wait..so Spike is a run away", Scootaloo said in shock as Babs Amy and Jim nodded with frowns, the cowpony looked down as she knows the colts pain of losing parents.
"I'm gonna go talk to him ok, if anypony knows what it's like to lose parents at a young age it's me", she told them before running off to look for Spike.
With Spike sitting on a hill, "they are probably here to take me back to Manehattan and throw me in a orphanage", he said to himself glaring.
Then he heard Applejack call, "Spike...Spike, where are ya sugarcube", she was looking for him, after awhile she found him on the hill and trotted up to him.
"There you are....tell me what in the hay was that all about", she asked glaring wanting answers as he turned away from her.
"You wouldn't understand Applejack", he said looking out at the view of Ponyville, she sat next to him looking down at him.
"I will if you tell me...remember what I told you, your like family to me sugarcube..you can tell me anything, I'm here for you", the cowpony told him putting on a smile as he looked up at her and sighed.
"I was angry at them cause...over a year ago, they were gonna throw me in a orphanage", the colt told her looking away, but all it did was made her curious about something.
"Why were you scared to go to an orphanage", she asked out of curiosity as the colt glared at the ground.
"I have my reasons", he told her glaring away, she kept on pushing on and pushing on and asking why he was scared to go to an orphanage.
Then he grit his teeth as he had enough and turned to her, "just drop it AJ, you don't know how I feel or what I went through for the past year", he said through gritted teeth as she glared at him.
"I know how you feel Spike..I'm an orphan as well...I feel your pain of losing parents", she told him glaring as his eye's widen, then glared again.
"How can you know how I feel...you have a brother and sister and a grandma and cousins...I was alone after my real parents died...I never knew my real grandparents because they died after I was born", he told her as he looked down.
He felt light tear's in his eyes, "I didn't want to go in a orphanage because I didn't want to be made fun of and bullied for being an orphan and alone and having no family left..and for the fact that I don't have my cutie mark and that I can't fly..that's why I ran away", he said again as Applejack just stared at him with a hurt look remembering what he told her and her friends when they first met him.
"I rather be a homeless talentless cutie markless orphan then a bullied flightless orphan that has no family and no cutie mark", he told again frowning while looking down.
Then Applejack pulled him in for a hug, "I'm sorry Spike...I never knew how hard it is to be alone with no family left...guess I'm lucky to still have my brother and sister and grandma and the rest of my relatives", she told him frowning as he wriped his eye's putting on a small smile.
"It's ok...plus I'm glad I end up in Ponyville, other wise I wouldn't have had a great mom and five great aunties that always been there for me", he told her smiling and hugging her back.
"You should explain to them as to why you ran away", Applejack told the colt breaking the hug as he thought about it.
"Well...you did show me that I should always be honest, guess I should explain to them why I ran away", he said putting on a smile.
Then he hugged her again and lightly nuzzled her, "thanks for being there for me auntie", he said smiling as she hugged and nuzzled him back.
"I'll always be here for you nephew", she said breaking the hug, then they started walking back to the reunion.
With a embarrassed Fluttershy, Twilight Rarity Pinkie and Rainbow Dash had smirks as the shy Pegasus was in a dress that the fashionista mare designed for her.
"Y-You think Soarin will like me in this dress", she asked blushing while turning to the mirror and looking at herself.
"Oh he will love to see you in that Fluttershy...trust me", Rarity said with a smirk as she and the rest of the Mane 6 were happy that their friend is going on a date tonight.
"Thanks for looking after Spike tonight Rainbow", the shy Pegasus said smiling as the the rainbow maned Pegasus waved it off with a smile of her own.
"No problem Shy...and I'm sure Spike wouldn't want to wake up to noises coming from your room of telling Soarin to-ow what the hell Rarity", Rainbow said rubbing her head where she got hit by a rolled up news paper by her glaring friend.
"Rainbow Dash....a true lady waits untill the third date to invite the stallion in and have a little after date fun", she said smirking as poor Fluttershys face was red with wide eye's
"O-Oh my", she said putting a hoof to her mouth, she was having a hard time not picture herself inviting Soarin in her home and leading him upstairs.
She end up getting a winger as her friends snickered at that, she snapped out of her little daydream and became even more embarrassed.
"Looks like Spike will be getting a dad son", Twilight said smirking with a giggle, Fluttershy blushed with a smile knowing if her and Soarin become a couple, she will have a little family of her own.
Back at the Apple family reunion, Spike and Applejack walked up to Amy Jim the Crusaders and Babs, "sorry for yelling at you", the colt said looking away.
"Can you tell us why you ran off....why did you want us to stay away from you", Jim asked confused as Spike glared at the ground.
"Cause you were gonna throw me in a orphange", he said glaring as their eyes widen in shock, especially Babs and the Crusaders.
"Spike...we weren't gonna throw you in a orphanage", Amy said walking closer to him as he grit his teeth.
"Yes you were...I heard you both talking about what you were gonna do with me and wondering if I'm gonna be ok with it", the colt said glaring and pointing a hoof at them.
"We were talking about adopting you", Amy said as Applejack the Crusaders and especially Babs were shocked about this.
"W-What", the colt said in shock with wide eyes.
"We were gonna give you a family Spike...Barb and Thorn knew how dangerous the Everfree Forest was, they told us that if anything happens to them..to take care of you and raise you like our own", Jim said frowning as his wife nodded.
"Wait...so Spike was so close to being my brother", Babs said in shock as her parents nodded, then she realised how weird it would be to have a crush on her brother.
Spike sat down while looking down not knowing how to take this in, after awhile of taking it in he realised he was in the wrong and frowned.
"So you were gonna adopt me", the colt said frowning as they nodded, then he hugged them both as they hugged him back.
"I'm sorry for being mad at you both", he apologized frowning as they forgave him putting on smiles.
After awhile, everything was back to normal as everypony was enjoying the family reunion.
Spike and Babs were catching up and talking while she's shows him the family, but Scootaloo was staring at them and not liking how close they are.
The Crusaders saw this as Button asked, "you ok Scootaloo, you look like you wanna rip someponys heart out with your teeth".
"I'm fine...not like my boyfriend is talking to another filly", she said through gritted teeth while continuing to stare at Spike and Babs talking.
A couple of hour's later, Spike was sitting on the hill looking out at Ponyville, he heard rustling of a bush and saw Babs walk out of it with a smile.
"There you are Spike, been looking for you", she said smiling as she trotted up next to him.
"The Apple family seems nice Babs, never knew you had such a big family", the colt said smiling as she chuckled and nodded knowing her family is pretty big.
"You should have seen the look on your face when I told them you had a fan boy crush on the Wonderbolt captain Spitfire for how cool and badass she is", she said smirking as he glared.
"You said you wouldn't tell anypony", he said blushing while pointing a hoof as she laughed, he laughed too as they sat on the hill.
Then the filly stopped laughing with a smile, "so...how did you end up in Ponyville", she asked as he chuckled at that.
"Well I snuck on the Friendship Express since it was the last stop, plus some ponies in Canterlot are snobs", he told her as she didn't say anything.
Then she frowned and nuzzled him under his chin saying, "I missed you Spike", the colt chuckled lightly and nuzzled her back.
"I missed you too Babs", he said back with a sad smile and continued to nuzzle her, they failed to see a glaring Scootaloo watching them from a bush.
Then they broke the nuzzle, "come on, let's get back to the reunion", the colt said smiling as he ran down the hill.
He saw his girlfriend walking out of a bush, "hey Scootaloo, can't wait to spend the night at your place", the colt said smiling as she forced a smile and nodded giving him a kiss.
Then Spike continued to run towards the reunion, but Babs decided to walk as she saw Scootaloo also and smiled at her friend.
"So....it's been awhile Scoots", she said smiling as the athletic filly was just glaring at her, she didn't like the way she nuzzled her colt.
"Yeah....it has, Babs do me a favor and stay away from my boyfriend ok", she said before walking away towards the reunion not seeing the shocked look of the filly.
