Nopony Said It Was Easy

[youtube=EdBym7kv2IM]

There you were. Standing patiently in the library, scanning through the hundreds of thick books on the shelves for the, if you're not mistaken, fifty-seventh time. You sighed lightly, looking at the clock as it struck eight, ringing loudly into the chamber of books. Never had you been so eager for the night to arrive, yet funnily it was Spike, the one dragon that you're acquainted with, not you, that was pacing around the room, rambling and ranting about the lavender unicorn he had come to call his big sister, the love of your life:
"...and she's always late on the first date! Who would've thought she, the most organized pony in Ponyville, would be late on her first date?!"

You chuckled lightly, patting the dragon's head while giving him a short answer:
"I'm patient enough."

A crash of books erupted from upstairs. You looked up in horror, but relief overcame it as you heard the lavender unicorn mutter disappointingly at herself:
"Dang it."

"How long are you gonna take, Twilight?"

"I'm.... I'm almost... done, Spike!"

From the conversation, you wonder if she was actually dating you, not Spike. You laughed silently at that, before you shout out:
"Do you want me to help you?"

A small gasp, though near-silent emanated from upstairs. The door creaked open slightly; you could see her violet eyes peering nervously outside.
Ah... those violet eyes. The ones you've been staring at for the past two months. The ones that could never took your own eyes off of. You gave her a meek wave, making her shut the door instantly. Spike guffawed at that, nudging your hoof gently with a mischievous grin.

"I'm coming!" the unicorn shouted at the top of her voice. A grin immediately plastered onto your face when you heard her stumbling above, your patience finally paying off.
As the door opened, you couldn't help but let your jaw drop in awe as the lavender unicorn stepped outside, wearing a glittered, light violet dress that flutters with each step down the stairs. A small, ruby brooch hung on her mane, gleaming in the light. You smiled dreamily: it was the same brooch you bought two weeks ago for her birthday, to which she insisted for you and you alone to help her put it on.
You could only stare as the mare approached you, slightly giggling with a blush at your quirky grin as she asks:
"What do you think...?"

You blush in return, giving her a peck on her snout.
"I think," you said, holding her hoof, "that you're the most beautiful mare I've ever met."

Twilight laughed softly as the two of you grew closer, both of your snouts nuzzling gently. Your pupils brightened, gazing down at her violet eyes in a pure sensation. You could feel it, your heart beating faster and faster like a renegade alarm clock in your chest, both of your lips getting closer... and closer...
"Ahem," Spike cleared his throat, instantly breaking into the moment. The both of you jumped back from each other, chuckling slightly with embarrassment.

"Shall we go then?" the unicorn asked, wrapping her hoof around yours.
You nodded slightly, giving her a tender smile. She giggled slightly, helping you to straighten your tie. Just as she did that, you held your breath, not from the choking sensation that only a tie could bring, but from the date that the both of you were expecting.

It's time.

"I really shouldn't have ordered the berry pie!"

You couldn't help but laugh out loudly, watching the unicorn groan and clutching her belly. Reaching for the bottle, you pour another glass of champagne, passing the filled glass to her.
She gave a sincere 'thank you', before gently sipping on the glass, letting the feeling mix in her mouth. Placing it down, she immediately smiled, her lovely eyes twinkling much like her name. It reminded of how you both met: when you first stepped into Ponyville and bumped into her or, more accurately, her thick, musty encyclopedias.

You raised your hoof, catching the attention of a waiter. He quickly strode towards you, brushing his exquisite mustache with utmost care and precision as he asked with a bow: "Yes, sir?"

"The bill, please." you answered politely, still grinning in wonder at the lavender unicorn as she looked around from the red, carpet floor to the dazzling chandelier hanging over the both of your heads. You couldn't help but chuckle once you remember how she constantly blabbered on about stuff and whatnot, to the point where you sometimes dozed off. It was only yesterday when you mustered up your courage to ask her out, much to her happiness.

"Of course, sir."

With a mischievous grin, you kicked her hoof teasingly from underneath the draped table, making her yelp back in surprise. You snicker as she rolled her eyes, sitting back down with a smile.
"If I had only known you were this cheeky."

The bill shortly arrived, as your hoof reached for your wallet. You quickly paid the waiter, the pony nodding his head with a 'thank you,' before excusing himself, leaving you and Twilight alone together once more.
Twilight was now blushing, but her smile became sinister as she fidgeted her hooves nervously. She constantly looks at the exit, as if pleading for the double doors to open. You had a hunch, but you weren't exactly sure about it.

You couldn't help but ask with worry: "What's wrong?"

"Nothing," she dismisses it, giving you a smile, although she looks more nervous and annoyed than happy.
"Just... forget about it. Not really a big deal, anyway."

"You can trust me, Twilight. I won't tell anypony."
There was something in the air; a feeling of uncertainty. You bit your lip as you shifted forward, much to her curiosity, before you began to ask hesitantly:
"Is it... him?"

Twilight immediately flashed to you a cold stare, a small flicker of rage flaring up in her pupils. She looked away from you, her eyes seemingly watering up as she spoke with a tremble:

"We're done here."

She suddenly stood up, leaving you in a huff. You quickly stood up as she pushed the double doors wide open, hurriedly walking out the restaurant. You groan at yourself frustration as you chased after her.
"Wait, T-Twilight!"

The mare was now furiously stomping away from the restaurant, heading towards the meadows on the outside of town. You galloped after her, immediately drawing unwanted attention from the other ponies around. The clock struck ten, ringing throughout the whole town. It was more of a taunt to you; a single reminder of how much time you had left, making you grumble at yourself. "Remember," Spike's voice echoed once again in your head, just before your departure, "don't bring up anything about the past few months."
You groaned in frustration. How could you have forgotten that? The most important advice of all?! It's the one thing that you weren't supposed to do, and you did it! You just did it!
"Twilight, wait!" you shouted, making her stop in her tracks. Your heart sank with guilt as you heard her sniffle underneath her mane, her body shuddering with grief. You reached out to touch her shoulder, watching her as she sobbed, burying her face in her hooves.

"Go away!" she screamed, abruptly jerking your hoof away. Tears streamed down from her eyes, painfully staring with rage into yours.
"You wouldn't understand what he did to me! You would never understand!"

"Wait, Twilight!"

Immediately, you wrapped your hooves around Twilight before she could walk away, the unicorn starting to squirm and jerk violently, trying to free herself from your tight embrace.
"L-Let me go!" she screamed tearfully, crying out with hate while pushing your hooves away in vain.
"LET ME GO!"

"Twilight, calm down!" you shouted above her loud screaming.
You hushed her, the unicorn still trying to free herself. You whisper into her ear as her screams started to die down into small sniffles and sobs. The needle of guilt pierced deeply into your heart, watching as her scars were reopened anew, the pain and suffering she emitted entering your ears.
"Calm down... calm down..."

Twilight stopped squirming, still wailing bitterly in your hooves. She shuddered violently from her despair, her tears dripping onto your hooves. She whimpered as you pecked her cheek, hushing her tenderly like a mother.
"I understand, Twilight... I understand..."

She turned to you, doubtful teary eyes gazing into your own; the same ones you adored. In your tight embrace, you held your mouth close to her ear, her eyes widening in brief surprise as you started to sing:

Come up to meet you, tell you I'm sorry,
You don't know how lovely you are;
I had to find you, tell you I need you,
Tell you I set you apart.

The unicorn trembled in your embrace, closing her eyes gently.

Tell me your secrets and ask me your questions;
Oh let's go back to the start.
Running in circles; coming up tails,
Heads on a silence apart

Twilight buried her face into your suit, crying softly. You tried not to cry as well as you heard the anguish in her voice, continuing the song:

Nopony said it was easy,
It's such a shame for us to part;
Nopony said it was easy,
No one ever said it would be this hard.

The mare looked into your eyes, her own gleaming with tears. You gave her a smile as you brushed her ruffled mane aside, quietly whispering the last sentence into her ear:

Oh, take me back to the start

The night was sweet, mellow, sweeter still with the love of your life lying right beside you. You looked into Twilight's eyes, the mare giving a slight blush of humiliation. The both of you muzzled your snouts together, your hoof running down her mane, making her tremble. She obviously had never been alone like this before; it's time for that to change.

I was just guessing at numbers and figures,
Pulling the puzzles apart;
Questions of science, science and progress,
Don't speak as loud as my heart.

Both of your clothes from the dinner date were tossed aside, scattered onto the wooden floor. She fell onto her bed, landing with a smile on her face. You gave her a grin, licking your lips as your face got closer to her body. She moaned slightly as your cold tongue met her coat, sliding down her body tentatively.
Her hooves started to wrap around you, begging you to continue. You gave a soft lick on her ankle, making her squeak in delight. It was instinctive, really, for everything to happen, yet you decided it was enough; you were in her house after all, not wanting to let a certain baby dragon catch you both in the act anyway.

Twilight moaned as you did it in reverse, your tongue tracing slowly back up to her stomach. She squirmed, gripping on her sheets as she tried to cover her giggle. You smile back mischievously, heading up to her snout. Those violet eyes... oh, how they stared back at you. Like the brightest stars of Luna's sky, you always said.

But tell me you love me, come back and haunt me;
Oh when I rush to the start.
Running in circles, chasing our tails,
Coming back as we are.

You both stared into each other deeply. It wasn't long before Twilight drank from a glass of wine, letting it run in her mouth. She beckoned you closer with a grin too seductive for a mare like her, showing how hard she was trying to entice you. My, my, her and her innocence.

It wasn't long before your lips met, the tingling grape sensation only aroused the both of you even more. Both of you closed your eyes, letting the hormones rage. You felt her cheeks redden with lust, letting out a small pant as your kiss grew deeper and deeper. Your tongue slithered around hers, swirling furiously with the grape mix in her mouth. She let out a slight moan, her chest heaving with pleasure. You soon found your hoof running down her body, continuing your fiery kiss as you stroked at her sensitive erogenous spots, making her squeal in deep passion.

Her hoof ran down your body as well, bringing you closer and closer. Sweat dripped from both of your manes, only fueling the desire for more. You feel her tremble as your hoof ran down her legs, slightly touching her rump as well.
"Lower..." she managed to mutter in the kiss. You couldn't help but oblige, your hoof now running down dangerously close to her rump. Any lower, you would've reached an ecstatic point of no return.

Nobody said it was easy,
Oh, it's such a shame for us to part;

Twilight's hoof tenderly ran down your body, stopping as her hoof felt a bandage. She reached around in confusion, still moaning and heaving from the kiss, to which you tried so hard as to distract her from it, yet a part of you knew she was too smart to do so.
Both of your lips broke, a long thread of saliva hanging between your snouts. You licked your lips playfully, still enjoying the fizzing taste of wine in your tongue. Twilight was, however, looking at you perplexedly as she gestured her head towards the bandage, making you sigh.

Nobody said it was easy,
No one ever said it would be so hard.

You unwrapped the bandage, slowly revealing a deep, old scar, slashed permanently onto the side of your body. Twilight gasped in horror at the sight, making you turn away in humiliation. She reached her hoof towards it, her mouth still agape at the mark.
"Wh-what happened?" she stammered her question.
"Who did this to you...?"

"The mare before you."

"I... I didn't know..." she managed to speak, her gaze fixated onto it. Those tears came back in an instant; those echoes of her screaming how you didn't understand. They weren't tears of grief nor depression, but rather the tears of guilt. In all of that, she could only respond to your blunt statement with a stammer:
"I'm... I'm s-sorr--"

You hushed her immediately, placing a hoof on her lips. She stared straight into your eyes, her watering pupils begging for forgiveness. Nothing was worse than knowing she tried to run away from you, yet she had been the mare who patched up your heart slowly after her first encounter. That was good enough.
"What's past is past," you said, giving a smile. The mare looked away as you brushed her mane aside, tangled amidst the intimate lovemaking. You nip her ear, making her giggle as you said to her:
"The scars may linger, but my love for you overcomes all that."

I'm going back to the start...

Twilight smiled with tears in her eyes, some of them running down her cheeks as she mouthed out: "I love you too." Those four words were like a lullaby: gentle enough to lull you to sleep while sweet enough to tickle your heart. Everything was perfect about her, and to retain the trust of perfection... you could never have been more proud of yourself.
She pulled you closer in a warm embrace, shifting slightly to ease herself. You smiled, hugging her tightly like your favorite teddy bear as she whispered into your ear quietly the magic word. It was one of those magic words that you scoffed at when you were young, but when the mare you know as Twilight Sparkle said it, you couldn't help but find that somehow, there is something magical beyond her being just the Element of Magic. No, there is the magic of Twilight Sparkle; the same one that send your heart aflutter when she whispered:

"Thank you..."
