The Battle of Canterlot came to a close soon after the death of Daybreaker. Even the most fanatical of her followers were given pause after Celestia had burned a section of Canterlot to the ground, and killed hundreds, if not thousands of her own people. 

The Capitulation of the Empire was a short affair. Nova Griffonia had taken the small area of land cut off from equestrian proper by Stalliongrad, and Stalliongrad had taken large swaths of Northern Equestria, after that they completely pulled off from peace talks and refused to provide anything else to the repairing of Equestria, particularly Nova Griffonia, who were still reeling from the loss of an entire army. 

The Yaks, claimed to have done their part and returned to their homeland. They did however, put forth small sums of money towards the repair of Pinkie Pie's home town and pony town, as a sign of appreciation for the Pink Pony.

This of course forced the Commonwealth and the Crystal empire to put more into Equestria's rebuilding, but in a few months they had mostly been able to stabilize the region, and prevent a total collapse. 

Princess Luna, however, had completely turned down any offer of being given the title of ruling Equestria once again. This cause major waves across the country, which forced the nation to accept the tenants of Democracy. Mayor Mare, would go on to earn a massive promotion from small town mayor to President of the nation. 

One of the more controversial moves of the Crystal Empire and the Changeling-Olenian Commonwealth was to completely forbid an Equestrian standing army of over 100,000, but most opposition did see the claims the Empire and Commonwealth made as legitimate. 

Soon enough veritable peace was established in the region, and the followers of Daybreaker were completely dealt with.





King Thorax and Queen Velvet sat together in the closed space of their vehicle. Both of them wore formal clothing, and were clearly prepared for something. Thorax nervously tugged on his suit's collar as their drive brought them through the streets of Canterlot. 

Most of the Ash and rubble from the battle had been sweeped away, and construction had gone into repairing the massive amounts of devastation caused by the final battle of the, newly dubbed, Solar War. 

"Stop fidgeting so much Thorax. You look fine." Velvet said with a smile. Thorax turned to his deer wife and gulped. 

"I know, it's just..." he started but was hushed by Velvet.

"You need to stop being so worried Thorax. This is a quick political meeting, and if anything, a reward ceremony." Velvet said as she sat back. "You need to stop getting so nervous about these kinds of things." 

"That's just the problem," Thorax said looking through the window. "Are we really deserving of this reward? Maybe the Griffons or Stalliongrad would be better-" 

"Oh just shut up Thorax." Pharynx, who was sitting in the front of the car said. "Despite the claims of the Griffon's they didn't do crap during the war effort. More Changelings and Deer died during the Solar War than any other group combined." Pharynx started as the car drove towards the palace. 

"Mostly because of Daybreaker burning our cities." Pharynx added clenching his hooves into fists. 

Thorax gulped and took his hand down from the collar and breathed out slowly. 

"Speaking of the Solar War," Velvet said as she crossed her legs and took a sip of some tea she had brought with her into the car. "is Cadence and Shining Armor going to be there? I certainly look forwards to meeting them during a time frame when the entirety of the world isn't about to burn." She said with a smile. 

Thorax smiled. "I am certain they are going to be there. I look forwards to meeting them again." He said as the car come to a stop. Pharynx left the car and stood outside. 

"Are you ready my dear?" Velvet asked as she set her tea aside and stood up. 

"Indeed I am." Thorax said as he stood up as well. "Harmony itself was challenged during the Solar War, but I think it is safe to say that we saved it." He said as Pharynx opened the door for them.

"Indeed we did." Velvet said as they prepared to take a step out of the car. "To a brighter future." 

With smiles, they both left the car, and walked forwards towards the palace.
