//------------------------------// // Day 1 - How Do You Deal With That // Story: First Week of Summer // by Zenyattaluver677 //------------------------------// It was around twelve o'clock in the afternoon and the girls who were formerly known as The Dazzlings, were all currently enjoying their first day of summer vacation. Adagio Dazzle the oldest of the three, was in the living room sitting in her reclining chair and was browsing through the TV channels to find something to watch, Aria Blaze, the second oldest, was also in the living room, but, she was lounging on the couch and playing a game on her phone and Sonata Dusk, the youngest, was sitting on the floor in the living room and was playing with about four of her toy horses she'd brought up from downstairs. After a few minutes went by, Sonata got bored of playing with her toy horses so she walked over to the couch, sat down and then cuddled up to Aria and began to watch Aria play the game that she was playing on her phone, resting her head on her older sister's left shoulder as she did. "I'm bored Ari." Sonata said a few minutes later. "What do you want to do then?" Aria asked her younger sister as she paused her game and looked down at her. "I don't know." Sonata answered, glancing at the TV for a second and them back at her older sister. "Why don't you ask Adagio if you can watch your cartoons for a while, she's had the TV all morning." Aria whispered, pointing to Adagio who was sitting in her reclining chair and watching the TV. "Dagi." Sonata said, turning to look at her oldest sister. "What do you want?" Adagio flatly asked, turning her head to look at her youngest sister with a flat expression. "C-Can I watch my cartoons for a while?" Sonata asked, looking away from Adagio as she did. "No, I'm watching one of my shows right now. You can wait." Adagio answered, looking back at the TV screen. "You've had the TV all morning though." Sonata exclaimed, sitting up and looking at Adagio again. "Sonata. You can wait your turn!" Adagio loudly replied, glaring at Sonata as she crossed her arms across her chest. "Fine!" Sonata loudly exclaimed, glaring back at Adagio while getting herself worked up. "Sonata come with me." Aria softly said, getting up from the couch and reaching out her hand for Sonata to take it when she saw that her younger sister was working herself up. Sonata took Aria's hand and followed her out of the living room, the reason Aria was taking her away from the living room was because Sonata was working herself up because of the argument her and Adagio were currently in, and because Sonata had anxiety, she sometimes didn't realise when she was getting worked up and should stop arguing about something. It was the same thing that happened when Sonata got frustrated about something but wouldn't take a break from it and keeps going until the point where she's so worked up that she'll either start crying or she'll slip into an anxiety/panic attack. Aria quietly and calmly led Sonata into the laundry room, mainly because it was the closest room and was away from Adagio. It was also quiet in the laundry room so Aria would be able to calm Sonata down and be able to communicate better with her, once they were in the laundry room, Aria turned to her younger sister and reached over and began to gently rub her sister's left shoulder with her right hand to help her calm down. "Ari, she wouldn't let me watch TV." Sonata exclaimed, gently wrapping her arms around her older sister's waist and leaning into her. "Shh, I know she wouldn't. Just forget about that for a minute while you calm down ok." Aria softly said, gently hugging her sister back and rubbing her back, which was also to help her calm down. Sonata buried her face into her older sister's right shoulder while she began to take deep breaths to calm herself down, since she'd begun to hyperventilate when she'd been arguing with Adagio, that was the reason Aria'd known she was getting to worked up and why Aria'd taken her out of the living room. After calming herself down for a minute, Sonata looked back up at her older sister and smiled at her, Aria returned the smile before she began to softly talk to her younger sister. "Nata, you know you shouldn't argue like that." Aria softly said, reminding her sister that she shouldn't argue with Adagio like she had because of her anxiety. "She started the argument though." Sonata quietly explained, gesturing to the hall with her free hand as if she were gesturing to Adagio. "I know she did, but you know how bad your anxiety is and you also know that one of two thing will eventually happen when you get worked up like that." Aria slowly explained so she wouldn't freak her younger sister out, even though her younger sister knew what she was talking about. "I know Ari, I'm sorry." Sonata replied, looking away from her older sister and down at the laundry room floor. "It's ok. Now, I'm going to head back to the living room, you can either come with me or go do something else until Adagio's done watching her show on the TV." Aria explained as she walked towards the laundry room door and turned to look at her younger sister before leaving the laundry room. "I'm going to go up to my room." Sonata said, walking over to Aria and stopping in front of her older and very protective sister. "Ok, that's fine. Come down and get me if you want or need anything." Aria softly replied, smiling at her younger sister as they both left the laundry room. "Ok." Sonata said, returning Aria's smile before heading upstairs to her bedroom. Aria watched Sonata head up the stairs before she continued to walk back to the living room at the end of the hallway, when she got to the living room, she sat back down on the couch and grabbed her phone. After grabbing her phone, she went back to lounging on the couch, unlocked her phone and then resumed to play her game she'd been playing before she'd calmed Sonata down. "I don't understand how you deal with that little brat every single day. She's annoying." Adagio exclaimed to Aria when she noticed Aria back on the couch. "Adagio she's not a brat, and she's not annoying. She just has anxiety, that's all, and I'm able to deal with her everyday because I only think about her having anxiety when she's upset or wants something, any other time, I think of her as a normal person, just like you and me." Aria explained flatly, pausing her game to look over at Adagio. "Where is she anyways? I wasn't done talking to her yet." Adagio asked, saying she still needed to talk with Sonata about who's turn it was for the TV. "She's in her room, besides, I don't need you making her work herself up anymore than she already did. That's not something she can just do like you and me." Aria answered, going back to her game and unpausing it again. "What do you mean she can't do that like we can? It's something everyone's mind takes care of." Adagio asked, confused as to what Aria'd just told her and trying to convince her otherwise. "Exactly. Her mind is different than ours, since she has anxiety, it's really easy for her to work herself up, but then it's really hard for her to just simply take a deep breath while in a argument like you two were in and just calm down. She has to be removed from the area or room that's stressing her out in order for her to calm down." Aria explained again, hoping Adagio would eventually get and understand what she was saying. "Oh, whatever." Adagio replied, shrugging off what Aria'd said and going back to look at the TV. Aria rolled her eyes and then went back to playing her game, ignoring both Adagio and the show Adagio was watching on the TV, since it was something that she didn't really like and that wasn't appealing to her. Making a mental note to herself to check on Sonata in about ten minutes to see how she was doing.
