The Dark Zone was a dreary and hauntingly quiet place where spirits are said to wander forever. It is in this place that Spike finds himself in after Twilight used the Universe Swap spell on him. After wandering in the darkness,he ran into the pony of Death itself who had appeared before him when he accidentally bumped into her. He had found out that the being was actually an Alicorn version of Fluttershy. He then asks her what was going on to which she replied, "Come, I'll bring you to one who can answer your questions better than I...". It is here where our tale continues...
"W-wait up!" Spike says as he runs after Nightingale, whom had already started to leave him behind.
"Try to keep up dragon, this place is not as empty as it appears." Nightingale says emotionlessly.
"Ok." Spike says as he starts to fly behind Nightingale.
The two make their way through the dark area, weaving through dead trees and plants to wherever it was Nightingale was taking them. Spike wanted to question her but he decided that he liked living and decided to keep it to himself, not wanting to make his new ally angry by pestering her with questions about her and her home. His only hope is that Twilight will be ok without him...
Nightingale gave him a curious look and said,"You seem troubled..."
"Well, I was just thinking about my home and all..." Spike said.
"You must miss your home, do you? Relax yourself,we're almost close to where we need to be..." Nightingale said.
"Wha? Really?" Spike says as they come upon a bright light.
"What is that?" Spike said.
"Go through it... Sky Land is on the other side..." Nightingale said.
"O-ok" Spike said.
They went through the light and then found themselves on an island in the sky.
"We're here..." Nightingale says.
"Where are we?" Spike said.
"Sky Land, home of the Goddesses..." Nightingale responded.
Spike looked around and saw a whole lot of clouds. He also saw Five different areas aside from the one he and Nightingale came from. The areas all had different names written nearby each one. In front of them was a massive Library, however the name of it was Bibliotheca. On the right of it was what seemed to be a bakery which was named Pistrina, on the left was a bank which was named Ripae, next to them was a castle which was named Arce Vita and finally there was a rather huge open battlefield and a training area. Spike was amazed by all of the places and wished that he could visit them all but he had questions that needed answering so he decided to deal with those areas later.
"Have you had enough sightseeing Spike?" Nightingale says in a monotone.
"Eh heh, Sorry..." Spike said.
"It is alright. Come Wisdom awaits." Nightingale says as she heads for the Library.
"Coming!" Spike says as he flies behind her.
The two make their way to the library making sure to stay on the path when they eventually make there. Spike goes to knock but Nightingale moves him out of the way.
"Why'd you do that for?!" Spike protested.
"Wait..." Nightingale said.
Spike was to question why but right then, a Lavender Alicorn landed right in front of them. From what Spike could see, the Alicorn had a similar body type to his adoptive older sister, Twilight Sparkle. However the similarities between them end there. The Alicorn's mane and tail were different than Twilight's own and she wore glasses, something Twilight never did. The Alicorn seemed to be studying him as well, it was not long until she spoke, "Olleh!"(Hello!)
"Huh?" Spike said in confusion.
The mare giggles then says,"Ekips! Modsiw I !"(Spike! I Wisdom!)
"Your speaking backwards again, Wisdom Spark." Nightingale said to the Alicorn, now named Wisdom Spark.
"Am I? My utmost apologies. I am rather fond of speaking in reverse. I am Wisdom Spark, the Goddess of Knowledge." Wisdom Spark said in a rather familiar accent.
"Please do not ever do that again..." Nightingale said.
"Okay!" Wisdom Spark says cheerfully before going over to Spike and saying, "Hi there!"
"Uh, hi?" Spike said unsure of how to speak to the confusing mare.
"Nice to meet you, Spike!" Wisdom Spark says as she goes to the door of the library.
"He has questions about this world, can you answer them?" Nightingale said.
"Yup! Ah sure can." Wisdom Spark says in a rather impressive country accent.
"Good... Now then, Spike, it was a pleasure to meet you but I must go. I have a job to do and I do not wish to have a mortal in the way." Nightingale said.
"Thanks for guiding me through that creepy forest." Spike says.
"You are welcome. Farewell...." Nightingale says before she returns back to the Dark Zone.
Spike watched as she leaves then feels a tap on his shoulder.
"Sorry to bother you but do you want to come inside? I made gem cupcakes, just for you!" Wisdom Spark says cheerfully.
"How did you? Never mind." Spike says before he goes into the library.
When Spike went inside, what he saw blew his mind. The library was much bigger on the inside than it was on the outside, he saw massive bookcases everywhere, each one filled with row after row with books on various different topics and they were all sorted alphabetically and by date as well.
"Whomever stacked all of those books had a lot of time one their hoof". Spike thought to himself as he looked around and saw that there appeared to be reading areas and even a place for little foals to play too. It was like every possible source of knowledge was there in this one library alone.
"Like it?" Wisdom Spark says cheerfully breaking Spike from his thoughts.
"Yeah... " Spike said.
"Yay! That's a rather nice thing you say. Thank you!" Wisdom Spark says right before she giggles.
"Uh, you're welcome?" Spike said.
"Come, come! You have a question, do you not?" Wisdom Spark said.
"Oh right... I do, just where am I?" Spike says as he also ponders on how he'll return home...
