//------------------------------// // 9/16/15 // Story: Letters From a Friend // by moviemaster8510 //------------------------------// Spike, I'm glad to see you write that. I went to bed before I could receive your letter back, and for that, I apologize. It is good that we got that sorted away, and I hope I can be friends this time around and write to each other too. And judging from your last response, I couldn't help but read a few times over, but are you saying that your kind actually controls the day, night, and even your own weather? Like, I have to be sure I'm not assuming something incredibly silly. I have to say, that's going to be on my mind for the better part of the day, but I'd really like to know how you make that all possible? Do you live in any kind of solar system, or are the sun and moon magic too? I mean, that's certainly not as cool as how we "do it" here. Our planet revolves around a sun, and we have a moon that revolves around our planet. Our planet (I'll just call it Earth for future reference (though that is our planet's name)) also rotates, and it completes a single rotation every 24 hours, and when it rotates away from the sun, that's nighttime (we also have timezones, so everyone operates on a similar day period). As for seasons, our planet is also tilted at an axis, so each hemisphere gets more direct sunlight at different parts of the year. Those with more experience summer (hot, typically dry weather) and those with less experience winter (cold, snowy weather). The hemispheres get equal sunlight during spring and autumn, so weather's a bit more neutral. Sorry if that doesn't blow your mind, but at least we have the title of "Best Horror Storytellers" on lock. But yeah. I'm heading to class soon and won't be back for several hours. I still look forward to hearing back. Sincerely, Toby P.S. Also, yeah, weather operates on its own here, though far be it from me to try and explain it.
