Prologue
Equestrian/Griffon War: Day 112
Colonial Windger was in his command tent studying a map of the surrounding area. He figured that he could use the Everfree Forest for simple ambushes and fallback points if he needed to retreat his Legionnaires to safety. After learning that the Princess of Friendship had hidden the true army she mustered and unleashed it he had to come up with secondary measures.
One such measure was building a second smaller camp into the Forest to divert the Princess’s attention. So far, they haven’t found either camps he had set up but it was only a matter of time before they do.
“Sir” Windger turned around to see one of his Legionnaires in the tent entrée way.
“What is it”
“Sir the Squire has arrived” Windger smiled.
“Excellent, show him in” the Legionnaire left and in that time Windger stood from his chair and walked around the table.
The Squire came in dressed in the 2nd degree Squire uniform. A black shirt under a black tunic with sand colored pants. A belt over the tunic also held the Squires gray bag. His hat was a mud green flat cap with a beak and on said beak was goggles. His boots where black with tall back to keep a little efficiency in appearance.
The Squire stood straight and saluted Windger. “Sir, 2nd degree Squire Gael reporting as ordered buy General Iron Wing, Sir” Windger held up an arm and said.
“At ease Squire, do you know why you are here”
“Sir, I am to act as courier for you and Vector Squad, Sir”
“Excellent, I know that you just arrived but I have an emergency letter needed to be delivered to our second camp in the Forest. After you reach the camp you won’t be needed until tomorrow, understood” Windger said.
“Understood Sir” Gael took the letter from the Colonial and headed for the second camp inside the Everfree Forest.
Windger put his fingers to his chin in thought. Half thinking about the Forest and half about the boy newly in his command.
