Player, Sans, and Twilight stood before the entrance that led into the first level. Looking back, Twilight and Sans nodded at Player persuading him to walk. Taking a deep breath, Player stepped forward and past through the gate followed by his two party members. Once they crossed the gate, the darkness soon vanished as a small village pixelated into view.
"Hey isn't this?" asked Sans.
"Yeah the village where we met Twilight," answered Player.
"Wait then this is ponyville?" asked Twilight.
"Is that the name of this place?" Sans countered with a second question.
"Yeah but....it looks dead," answered Twilight. Sure enough the place wasn't in the bright colors as it was before. This time the overworld was purple and glitching as if the map was corrupted. Player looked up as a text box appeared before him.
Level 1: Poetic Justice
"Poetic Justice?" asked Player.
"The name of the level," answered Sans. At that moment a small yellow pony with red mane and bow ran up to them.
"Help us!" the pony pleaded.
"Applebloom what are you doing here?" asked Twilight. The pony looked towards Twilight but then turned back towards player and repeated.
"Help us!" she repeated.
"Applebloom it's me Twilight, can you tell us what happened?" asked Twilight. But the pony ignored her and repeated the phrase to Player as if she wasn't there. "Why isn't she listening to me?" Twilight asked disappointed.
"Uh I hate to break it to you, but I think she's an NPC," answered Player.
"A what?" asked Twilight.
"A Non Playable Character," answered Sans. "They're common in RPGs like these and only has a certain dialogue system that they're programed to say," "Normally it's only Players that can interact with NPCs,"
"That explains why she isn't responding to you," added Player. "She isn't ignoring you, it's because you aren't the player, it's sad to say that to the NPCs, party members are invisible to them,"
"So if only a player can interact with them then..." stuttered Twilight.
"Only Player can respond to your friend," answered Sans.
"Help me," Applebloom repeated. Player noticed that an explanation point was hovering above her head indicating that she had a request. He lifted his finger as a interact option appeared. Player selected interact and Applebloom's dialogue immediately changed. "Someone's in trouble, y'all gotta help 'em!"
"Can you take us to them?" asked Player.
"This way," said Applebloom. She turned around and ran off. Player looked at Sans and Twilight nodded. The three quickly followed after Applebloom. They were led to small area of ponyville where several houses were already in ruins and crumbling.
"Sweet Celestia, what happened here?" asked Twilight.
"Over there," said Applebloom pointing at something. The three looked up and saw a young girl wearing a yellow hoodie blue pants and yellow shoes surrounded by a horde of black ponies. They looked like smaller versions of Chrysalis but with blue eyes instead of green.
"Changelings!?" gasped Twilight.
"What?" asked Sans.
"Their Chrysalis's minions," answered Twilight.
"Chrysalis is the pony that was working for P2 right?" asked Player.
"That's right," answered Twilight. "What are they doing here though?"
"Fight now, ask later," said Sans. "Hey!" Sans called out to them. The girl and the changeling horde turned to face them. "Don't you think it's unfair to be ganging up on a girl like that?"
"Who are you?" hissed a changeling.
"I'm Sans, Sans the skeleton," said Sans introducing himself. "As for you, why don't you go buzz on back to your queen and quit bugging that girl?" asked Sans. "You won't be destroying her character THAT easily,"
"Wha how do you know about our plans?" asked another changeling.
"Easy, I can see through your hole plan," snickered Sans.
"Very funny Sans," said Player. He walked up next to him with a serious look. "But seriously, if you don't leave her alone.." Player closed his eyes and took a deep breath. "You're going to have a bad time,"
"Ha, you can scare us all you want but you'll never beat us that easily," laughed a third changeling.
"Alright you asked for it," said Player. The changelings quickly turned their attention away from the girl and towards the three. A black text box appeared in front of Player. The Changeling Horde appeared! " Three text boxes appeared in front of Player, Sans, and Twilight with four options: Fight, Item, Pass, and Run.
"Ok so how do I do this?" asked Twilight.
"Oh right you don't know how this works," said Player.
'Aye just watch an' learn, Player let's show her how it's done," said Sans.
"Alright," said Player. Confused, Twilight watched as Player took a step forward. He pushed the fight option as his four skills appeared in the text box. Dagger Slash, Talk out, Spare, Determination Suddenly, a small dagger materialized in Player's right hand leaving Twilight staring in awe. Player used Dagger Slash Player lunged forward towards the first changeling and slashed as a -50 appeared over it's head. The changeling screeched as it's body glitched out and vanished.
"What how?" asked Twilight. Sans nudged Twilight and pointed over Player's head. Twilight looked up as a +30 appeared over his head. Player stepped back as Sans took his place.
"My turn," said Sans. He pushed the fight option pulling up his skills. Bone Barrage, Gaster Blaster, Teleportation, Telekinesis. Sans's right eye flashed blue as a large skull appeared next to him. He pointed at the second changeling with his finger gun as the Gaster Blaster opened it's jaw. Sans used Gaster Blaster "Bang," he said. A blue beam shot out of the Gaster Blaster and struck the second changeling as a -60 appeared over it's head. The changeling glitched out and vanished as a +30 appeared over Sans's head.
"Alright you're turn," said Player.
"But what do I do?" asked Twilight.
"Just select fight and select one of your skills," answered Sans. Twilight swallowed hard and stepped forward. She looked down and selected fight pulling up her skills. Magic Blast, Teleportation, Barrier, Friendship. Twilight bent down and pointed her horn at the third changeling. However she noticed that something was different. Normally it was difficult for her to charge up a magic attack, but this time it only seem to happen immediately. Twilight used Magic Blast Twilight thrusted her horn towards the third changeling as a ball of purple energy struck the changeling as a -50 appeared over it's head. The changeling glitched and vanished as a +30 appeared over Twilight's head.
'Did I do it?" asked Twilight.
"Hell yeah you did!" exclaimed Player.
"Not bad, but now you gotta switch with Player again," said Sans. Actually feeling disappointed, Twilight switched with Player. A black text box appeared in front of the three. Player Turn End. Enemy Turn. The fourth changeling flew up to Player and bit him as a -2 appeared over his head. The changeling flew back and the last changeling flew up to player and bit him as a -2 appeared over his head.The changeling flew back as another text box appeared. Enemy Turn End. Player Turn. Player stepped forward and selected fight. Dagger Slash, Talk Out, Spare, Determination. Player used Dagger Slash Player lunged forward and slashed the fourth changeling causing him to vanish. A +30 appeared over his head followed by some catchy music.
"What happened?" asked Twilight.
"Look," said Sans pointing towards Player. This time a white text box appeared.

"You're turn," said Player switching with Sans.
"Let's finish this," said Sans selecting fight. Bone Barrage, Gaster Blaster, Teleportation, Telekinesis. Sans used Telekinesis Sans's eyes flashed blue as he held out his hands in front of the changeling. The small red heart that appeared over it's chest turned blue as Sans started swing his hands up and down causing the changeling to magically fly up and down into the ground as if an invisible force was slamming it into the ground. -2 Combo x30 The changeling glitched out and vanished as a +30 appeared over Sans's head. A white text box appeared in front of Sans followed by the catchy music.

"Whoa what just happened?" asked Twilight.
"And that's how you battle RPG style," said Player.
"Hey," The three turned around to see the girl walking up to them. "Thanks for that," said the girl.
"Anytime," said Sans.
"I'm Monika," said the girl holding out her hand.
"Player," said Player shaking her hand.
"I'm Twilight Sparkle," said Twilight.
"Name's Sans," said Sans holding out his hand.
"Oh god no," said Player. Monika reached out and shook his hand as the familiar sound rang out. Monika blushed as Sans burst out laughing.
"The old whoopee cushion in the hand trick, it's always funny," chuckled Sans. Twilight groaned and face hoofed herself in disappointment.
"Aye don't worry he's always like this," said Player whispering into Monika's ears.
"Is a comedian?" asked Monika. Player nodded. 'That explains why,"
"Well it was nice meeting you, but we gotta get going," said Twilight.
'Wait, do you mind if I go along with you guys?" asked Monika.
"What?" asked Player.
"I mean, don't really know where I am and I wouldn't want to have to deal with enemies alone when I could be fighting them off with three others," said Monika. Player looked at Sans and Twilight to get their opinion, but it was obvious to Player that they all wanted the same thing.
"Welcome to the party," said Player holding out his hand. Monika hesitated but managed to take his hand. A white text box appeared in front of them. Monika joined your party!
"Well there's are fourth member," said Sans. Player pulled up the menu and selected Party Members. The list popped up with the last slot filled in.

"Well now that's done, shall we move on?" asked Player closing the menu. Everyone nodded in agreement. "Then let's keep pushing forward!" Player announced. The group let out a cheer as they followed Player to their next destination.
