Practice

"Listen, If you're going to be of any use to me, you have to work on both your transformation appearance and speed," Chrysalis said matter-of-factly. "Today we'll work on your appearance."

"Ditto," The creature said with a nod, an adorably tough expression on its face.

"What? That doesn't even make any sen-" Chrysalis stopped, making a horrible realization. "Is . . . That's all you can say, isn't it? It better not be all you can say!"

"Ditto?"

"Oh, you've got to be kidding me!" Chrysalis screeched. "FINE! Basic language skills will be added to the list! Why not!"

The rest of the day was spent as practice, Chrysalis ordering its servant to create small protrusions towards the edges of its mouth and eyes, the places that refused alteration. The knobs started out small, but had nearly grown to the size of the average muzzle by the end of the day. Still, the shape would need to be flat at its top. It would also have to include two nostrils, and a mouth that contained a tongue, uvula, and at least thirty six teeth. Chrysalis groaned at the lack of progress, hoping that she could at least get the Pokémon to form the bump in the middle of its face.

"Now then, copy my face like you did before."

Ditto, confused as to how to do it any other way, created Chrysalis's entire body, but stopped its transformation after completing the slender, black neck of the former Changeling Queen. Ditto thought that practice had been going great, and was sure that when it dramatically completed it's Queen's face, she would be more than pleased. Focusing, its mouth produced two, small fangs, which were new, but Chrysalis was still waiting on a muzzle.

With a final burst of energy, Ditto shut his eyes tight, sure his new muzzle would be perfect . . . and a dot the size of a pimple took root where a nose would go. Chrysalis resisted the urge to throw her creation into the sun.
