"Magic, what else would it be powered by?" Twilight asked Rainbow Dash, with a sarcastic tone in her voice.
"Sure...So how do I activate it once I get flying?" Rainbow Dash asked.
"Simple, just preform a sonic Rainboom!" Twilight said happily
"Cool." Rainbow said with pride, she was the only pegasus able to preform a sonic rainboom in Equestria now, and she was now able to do it with little to no effort.
Rainbow Dash crouched down at the back of a long runway at the top of a cliff, her wings splayed out ready to launch her into the horizon. "So I do a sonic rainboom and then the thing attached to my back will make me go faster?" Rainbow Dash asked once more just to be sure.
"Yep, al..." she was about to warn Rainbow Dash to hit the button on her chest to detach the machine if something happened to go wrong, but Rainbow was already a dot on the horizon.
Rainbow (Blue text is a link to music) was speeding forward, her wings tucked in tightly, she opened them for a second to propel her forward with a hard gust and then tucked them back in. She was in her zone, sound started to disappear and then it happened. She felt like she broke through a wall, and color was every where, then the machine kicked in, purple was blowing out of it and pushing her forward. Her goggles pushed into her eye's, color started to drain from her vision, one shade after the other, the last one to go was blue, then every thing went black, she knew she was still awake she felt the wind hit her face as she zoomed onward. Then a rainbow tunnel appeared and she was zooming through it, it was almost epileptic. Then she blacked out for real (stop music on red from now on).
She woke up with something shaking her, as she opened her eyes she was blasted with light. She shook it off and looked at what was shaking her and screamed. "Sorry to frighten you, are you all right?" the creature asked with a sense of worry in his voice.
Rainbow Dash calmed down after a second, she knew this was no time to freak out. "I'm fine, um... who are you?" Rainbow asked trying to stay calm.
"I'm Leon...come on, you might want to get up." he said as he held a hand out to help rainbow up.
Rainbow grabbed Leon's hand for assistance and nearly freaked when she saw her own hand, she barely held back a scream. "So, what's your name?" Leon asked happily.
"Um... you can just call me dash." she said.
"Oh, if were going by nicknames, everyone calls me Professor." he said as he took off his coat and held it out for Rainbow Dash to take.
"Uh... why are you giving me your coat, and why are you being so friendly?" Rainbow asked innocently.
"Well, their was a flash of light coming from this alley, and decided to check it out, when I came around the corner their you where. As to why I'm offering you my coat, that's because your *ahem* indecent." he said with a slight blush as he looked off to the side.
"Um... thanks." she said taking Leon's coat and wrapping it around her.
"So...do you have a place to stay?" Leon asked looking back at the slightly more decent Rainbow Dash.
"I wish I knew where this Place was." Rainbow said matter o' factley.
"That's no good, not at all. Well welcome to America, do you have any memory of where you came from?" Leon asked seemingly concerned.
Rainbow Dash thought for a while, she had never herd of this 'America' and never herd of any creatures like these. She decided to play it safe and lie "I don't have a clue." she said with faux depression.
"Well, listen, you can stay with me for a while if you want to." Leon said sympathetically.
"That would be awesome!" she said excitedly.
"Alright then, follow me." Leon said happily.
They walked along for a while, rainbow took in her surroundings. Massive buildings as far as the eye can see. Then they stopped and Leon looked at Rainbow "I'm gonna stop in that store to get something," he said as he pointed to one of the smaller buildings "you can come with me if you want to or you can wait out here." he said
"I can wait." Rainbow said not wanting to encounter any more of these creatures.
Leon took a couple of minutes but soon enough he came out with a grey bag, and they were on their way once again. Leon stopped in front of what looked like a nightclub and said "Well home sweet home, by the way, how old are you?" he asked Dash.
"I'm nineteen, is that a problem?" she asked in return.
"Not a big one, just don't take any alcohol offered to you." he said.
"What? I Remember being able to drink back where I came from!" she said.
"That's good that your remembering stuff about where you came from, but about the drinking thing, in America you can't drink tell you 21, though most other countries have there drinking age much lower." he explained.
Rainbow nodded in acknowledgement, and they approached the club. Leon stopped and looked at the bouncer "The girl is going to stay with me for awhile, she's only nineteen but I won't let her into the bar, okay?" he asked.
The bouncer nodded and smiled at Leon "Not a problem, though I didn't know you were much of a relationship guy!" he said jokingly.
Leon patted the guy's shoulder and smiled, shook his head, laughed, and started to head up the stairs. He looked at Rainbow dash and waved his hand to tell her to follow her. They made their way through the club and headed up some stairs near the back of the club. They walked through a large doorway and they entered a very modern looking apartment. Leon closed the door, and the music coming from the club disappeared.
"Here," Leon handed the grey bag he was carrying to Rainbow "I hope I guessed your sizes right."
Rainbow looked into the bag, it contained a blue t-shirt with a rainbow stripe that crossed diagonally across the shirt, and a pair of jeans, some socks, a pair of running shoes, and some undergarments. "Theirs a bathroom over their if you want to change now." he said as he looked through what seemed to be mail.
"Thanks." Rainbow said as she made her way to the bathroom.
Rainbow Dash entered the bathroom, it was very large. It had a hot tub in one corner a stand up shower in the other, a toilet, and a large mirror. Rainbow looked at her self in the mirror, she was short compared to Leon, she still had her rainbow ma...hair though, she could see the muscles under her skin, though they weren't very large. She tried on her clothes after looking at her new self for a minute. Her shirt was a little small, it hugged her and didn't cover her entire torso, but she liked it . She didn't like the jeans however, they were tight, and that was all well and good, but they restricted her movement. She poked her head out the door and called out to Leon, when he appeared she asked if he had any scissors, he came back shortly with a very sharp pair of scissors. She cut one of the legs to a very short length, that alone made it a hundred times easier to move and she examined her self in the mirror, she liked the one pant leg look.
She came out and found Leon sitting on a bright white couch. The apartment had a large window behind the couch that let in the light of the setting sun. Their was an all glass coffee table in front of the couch, and a large TV on the wall to the right , it looked as if it were actually part of the wall . Their was a kitchen at the opposite wall, with a open bar that separated it from the living room. The door to the Bathroom was the first of three in a hallway to the left wall. "What do the other two doors lead to?" Rainbow asked Leon.
"The door at the end of the hallway leads to my bedroom, the door opposite from the bathroom door leads to what was suppose to be a guest room, but I converted it into a large walk in closet." he looked at rainbow dash and smiled "I really like what you did with the pants." he said.
Rainbow Dash smiled, but then her stomach let out a rumble and she blushed lightly. "Sorry, I'm kinda hungry." she said looking at the floor.
"Not a problem, do you eat fish?" Leon asked.
"No, I would never dream of eating another living creature." She said a little taken aback.
"A vegetarian eh, I have plenty of Vegetables and fruit, no need to worry." Leon said heading toward the kitchen.
Rainbow thought for a second and came to a conclusion that it was probably normal for these creatures to eat meats. Then she came up with another couple of question that had been bugging her "Why do people call you Professor, and why do you live above a club?"
"Well I live above a club because it's cheap, actually it's free as long as I help the staff if issues come up and help the owner with logistics, I also produce my own music and DJ for the club sometimes. As for why people call me Professor, that's because I am a professor." he said with a smirk that Rainbow Dash ,for the shortest second, thought was cute before she realized what he told her and looked at him with confusion.
"You don't look that old, how are you a professor!" she said, Rainbow learned from Twilight that to become a professor you had to have years, sometimes decades, of study and classes.
"Well you see," he said as he threw a menagerie of vegetables up into the air and caught them again in the stir fry pan "I am extremely gifted at the sciences, I surpassed all of my peers and was taking college level classes in middle school, overtime I got job at the university, and now I'm a professor of theoretical physics and just science in general." he said clearly proud of him self.
"Wow, I'm decant at physics but I wouldn't dream about becoming a teacher." rainbow said. It is true she is skilled at physics, she would have to be if she was the greatest flyer in Equestria.
"Anyway, what kind of music do you like?" he said finishing the stir fry vegetables and switching the pan with a pot to boil some noodles.
"I really like electronic music" and not a second after that some Trance was playing in the background.
Leon finished making the dishes, and set one in front of Dash, who was now sitting at the bar. "Tell me what you think when your done, if it's cool with you?" he asked, and Rainbow nodded all ready eating the surprisingly good meal.
Leon sat down at the couch and ate his meal quietly, bobbing his heat to the music, the lights in the apartment changed color and turned on and off to the music, like a small club. It sent Rainbow into a kind of trance, just looking at Leon eating and enjoying himself and before she knew it she was done. Leon finished and took Rainbows dish from her and put them both into a washing machine, and turned to Rainbow "Well, was it any good?" he asked a happy smirk on his face.
"It was... really awesome." she said.
"That's good. Last time I had to cook I nearly set fire to the place." just as he said that a few knocks came from the door.
Leon opened it and the bouncer from earlier asked him something inaudible, and Leon looked over at Rainbow "I gotta go help get some troublemakers out of the club, when you get tired, you can go to sleep in my bed, I just washed the sheets so hygiene it shouldn't be a problem, I'll go to sleep on the couch."
Before Rainbow Dash could protest Leon was out the door. An hour went by and Rainbow began to worry but she was beat and decided that she should get some sleep. As she entered the room she was entranced by the blue and green lights that dimly lit the room, and as soon as she hit the bed she was out.
