After defeating Tirek, and saving Equestria, a statue was raised in Ponyville in memory of his heroic duties. The gold plated statue stood tall, with Goku as a super saiyan. Nearly a year had gone by since that fateful day, and Goku knew his time to leave, was closer than ever.
Equestria's leading scientists, including Twilight, worked day and night to get Goku's new space pod working again. Meanwhile, Goku spent his free time exploring Equestria, making friends, and perfecting instant transmission. Every now and then, he would visit the royal castle to spar with Princess Luna, and Celestia.
Through their training together, Goku grew even stronger, and helped Celestia find her hidden power through a transformation much like Luna's ability to control Nightmare Moon. Celestia soon gained control of hers as well, named Daybreaker. Though, Goku was certainly no match for them, he did his best to help them sharpen their abilities, so that they may defend Equestria when the time comes.
The day of Goku's scheduled departure had finally arrived. The pegasi made sure to keep the weather calm for an easy and safe takeoff from the planet, keeping the winds low, and the clouds sparse. Thousands of ponies filled the streets of Canterlot as Goku, and his new friends made their way through the city toward the royal palace, where the repaired space pod was ready.
"I can't believe a year went by so quickly. I wonder how long it will take me to travel to Earth." Goku scratched his head.
"By my calculations, it shouldn't take you very long at all!" Twilight exclaimed.
"I wish I didn't have to go though. I really like it here. Everyone is so nice, and it's so much more peaceful than Earth."
"Aside from the whole Tirek thing that happened." Applejack reminded everyone of the events that took place not too long after Goku crash landed. "I'm still surprised how powerful he was, even with Goku on our side!"
"Well, to be completely honest I could have killed him if I really wanted to." Goku explained, "But with all the magic in his possession, I didn't know what would happen to it. I didn't want to risk losing it all, you know?"
"Could you imagine this place without magic? This place would be chaos!" Rainbow exclaimed. Behind her, Discord appeared out of thin air.
"Did somebody say chaos?" He pulled all the girls into a group hug.
"Not you, knucklehead!" Rainbow replied, wiggling free of his hug. "Don't think you're off the hook just yet for what you did!"
"Oh but I already paid my debts, Rainbow. Remember?" Discord laughed, "My community service is done! I am a free man once more!" He said, putting on a pair of shades.
"What's a man?" Pinkie asked.
"I am!" Goku replied. The girls laughed as they approached the entrance of the royal castle walls. The guards opened the gates, allowing them through. Behind the castle walls, lied a the great royal garden, where Goku's pod awaited in the clearing.
Princess Celestia stood alongside Luna and Cadence, along with a young stallion holding a camera. Goku looked over at Fluttershy and noticed she was shedding a tear.
"Hey, what's with the waterworks, Fluttershy?" He knelt down.
"I'm just sad you have to go. You've been a great friend to us all! And just to think you'll be so far away."
"Come now darling. It's not like he won't ever visit us again." Rarity put her hoof around Fluttershy, "You will come and visit us again, won't you?"
"Of course! I won't ever forget about you girls." Goku spread his arms and brought in everyone for a hug, "Thank you all so much for taking care of me and helping me get better. I can't thank you enough. Without any of you, I probably would have died. Now here I am, about to go back home to see my family."
"Do say hello to them for us, dear." Rarity said.
"Will do Rare!"
"And be sure to show them some of my cake recipes!" Pinkie jumped with excitement, holding up a bag. "We packed you a going away present!"
"No way!" Goku took the bag, and opened it up to look inside. Inside were pictures they had taken, recipes from Pinkie Pie and Applejack, and a new outfit Rarity had made herself. "This is awesome! I can't wait to try this on Rarity!"
Goku packed away everything back into the bag, and placed it in the storage compartment of the pod. He turned back to everyone one last time. Everyone stood in a line, including the princesses. Celestia knelt down to one hoof, and bowed her head.
"Goku. I want to personally thank you one last time for your heroism, and bravery. Without you, Equestria might not be here today." Celestia said. "I wish you the best of luck on your journey home."
"I'd like to thank you all too. Especially Fluttershy. I mean, you gave me a place to sleep and food to eat! What more could I have asked for?" Goku said. "I really can't wait to see you all again."
Goku turned, and climbed into the pod. Once he settled into his seat, he took one last look at his friends, and waved.
"Goodbye!"
The door closed, and the sound of the engines powering up became audible. Everyone took a step back as the pod lifted into the air slightly, before rocketing up into the atmosphere. The tiny pod quickly became invisible to the naked eye as it continued to pick up speed, eventually escaping the gravitational pull of the planet. Twilight and her friends looked to the sky, and together yelled...
"Farewell, Goku!"
