//------------------------------// // The Change // Story: Wallflower’s New Blue Cat // by Head of Common Mockery //------------------------------// Dex-Starr stares at the Red Lantern Power Battery. Something seems off about it. He can’t quite put his paw on it, but he feels like something has changed. “You feel it too?” A raspy voice asks. Dex-Starr looks behind himself to see an old friend. Atrocitous. “Something seems to be occupying your mind, old friend.” Red Lanterns about rage, yes? Dex-Starr asks, confused about something. Atrocitous wishes that he had the answer to his friend’s question. But that’s the thing. He didn’t. After Atrocitous’ discovery of both a second earth and a world controlled by a mysterious magic, he’s been hung up on this strange feeling like all Red Lanterns are about to go through a change. He feels like they are about to evolve into something bigger than what they already are. “... I cannot answer that right now, but.” Atrocitous grabs his ring and begins to remove it, “I do know that we can now remove our rings without dying.” Atrocitous takes off his ring, losing the bone armor that he was wearing. “As you can see, I still live,” Atrocitous says, his powers got until he puts the ring back on. ... We going through more than change. I think we evolving. “I think there is a reason behind this change. One that could grab the attention of more than just us. I have sensed the rage and hatred of a human who is not of this universe. His name is Allen Baxter Busterfield, and I feel that his rage has hit the boiling point. I shall observe and make sure that his rage is pure. You may join me to Equestria, if you wish.” I pass. I check on Wallflower. She might have nightmare. “I see. Go forth, Dex-Starr. Bring peace to Wallflower Blush while I investigate Equestria. I sense victims that are not dead yet they have much loss. I shall see you again when I require your services.” With that said, Dex-Starr opens a portal and leaves for Wallflower. As he floats through the portal, he ends up in the backyard of Wallflower’s home. He looks up at the two-story house and spots Wallflower’s room with the window open. Dex-Starr flies up to the window to see Wallflower tossing around in her bed. Her face has a look of sorrow upon it. Not wanting to see Wallflower in distress, Dex-Starr floats over and lands on her bed, nuzzling his head against Wallflower’s. It alright. I here. I keep you safe. I make you feel strong. I good kitty... Dex-Starr curls up next to Wallflower and closes his eyes as Wallflower unconsciously pulls him close. Dex-Starr looks up at Wallflower’s face to see her smile. Dex-Starr smiles and gets comfortable. ... I your kitty.
