//------------------------------// // Prologue // Story: EoH Evolution: Season 3 // by Bahamut0 //------------------------------// The Castle of the Two Sisters All was silent in the ruins of the old castle in the Everfree Forest. However, the infamous castle was far from deserted. A lone figure looked up at the moon through the destroyed ceiling. Her body was bathed by the moonlight giving a silver aura around her black body. "How long has it been since my second defeat?" Nightmare Moon thought out loud. There was no one here to know of her surviving the blast from the Elements of Harmony. "I suppose that really doesn't matter. It's not like there's anyone who's thinking of me. Or rather, there's not anyone who wants to think about me." A sad smile crept its way across the fallen princess's lips. "But I can't really blame them for that, can I?" Gazing at the ruined throne room, Nightmare Moon began to recall memories of her existence. The day she fully manifested through Luna's negative emotions. Her and Luna's banishment to the moon for a thousand years. But the memory of most significance was that of her return and subsequent defeat. "A thousand years of nothing to do but plot vengeance and stew in anger. And all it accomplished was nothing." Nightmare Moon let out a sigh as she looked to the night sky once more. She made to touch the old throne, but her hand just went right through it. "All because I wanted to grant Luna's wishes." Memories of her imprisonment, as well as Luna's torment played in her mind. "How can I even say that I tried when all I did was cause her more pain than I thought possible? Perhaps this fate of being a spirit is for the best." "All my existence has ever wrought is pain and sorrow." Nightmare Moon clenched one of her fists. "There are so many things I've done wrong. And despite that, one person tried to help me." Memories of her return surfaced. In specific, memories pertaining to Burst Stream. "He tried to convince me. He knew what I had done, and how I had hurt Luna. And still he tried to help us. Even throwing his own life away for our sake. If he could see that, then maybe I can try." "I want to make things right." Nightmare Moon said as she looked to the moon. "I WANT TO MAKE IT ALL RIGHT!" As if her declaration was heard by Faust herself, an aura of rainbow magic surrounded Nightmare Moon! This magic. . . it can't be! Why is the magic of harmony surrounding me?! A blinding white flash illuminated the whole castle! And just as soon as it mad materialized it faded. Leaving a very confused Nightmare Moon standing in the throne room. "This has been a strange night." Nightmare Moon muttered to herself. "I feel like my heart's beating like-wait." Nightmare Moon put a hand on her armored chest. Despite the armor barring her hand from her skin, she could feel it. She had a heartbeat. "This can't be possible. But still," The former Lady in the Moon closed her eyes, and summoned her broadsword. She was successful, but there was something different about the blade. It looked like it was made of the night sky itself! "It appears that I've been given another chance." Nightmare Moon walked over to the old throne, and sat down. A contemplative expression across her face. "The night is still young. And I have so much to plan. . . "
