Applejack sure is getting mileage out of our arrangement. Magnet North thought to himself as he hauled off another bucket full of apples. But a gentleman always honors his agreements. I'm no exception. North wiped the sweat from his brow, and snuck a glance at Applejack.
I'd be lying to myself if I said she wasn't pleasing to the eye. North thought with a small smile. She's fairly muscular with the farm work she does, so she certainly knows how to make strength beautiful. North observed how easily Applejack handled heavy lifting. "How's it coming along on your end Applejack?"
Applejack smirked. "Ah'm pretty much finished North. Though I wasn't expecting you to get your hands dirty." She pointed to the magnet crests on North's hands. "Truth be told, Ah was expecting you to whip out your magic and use that to move all the buckets."
"And risk you clocking me on the head for not putting in an honest effort?" North joked, earning a small chuckle from Applejack. "Wouldn't be very noble if I took the easy way out. Besides, if you really wanted to see me show off my magic, give me anything that's metal. As my talent crest shows, I'm best with polarity magic. Or magnesis for lack of a better term."
North then chuckled as he remembered the first meal he'd had at the Apple family's home. "I remember when Apple Bloom asked me if I could bend and levitate a spoon with my magic. I told her that a real challenge would be to have me rearrange it into a different shape." He then stared right into Applejack's emerald eyes. "Put my magic doesn't just work on metal. I can also use polarity magic to push or pull other objects. Care if I use you for a demonstration?"
"Fine." Applejack said with a shrug. "But don't go and try anything funny. Otherwise," Applejack patted one of her legs. "Ah'll give you a taste of Kicks Mcgee here."
North gulped, and gave Applejack a nervous smile. "Believe me. That's the last thing I'd want to do to ANY woman. Heck, I've not so much as even kissed a girl yet!"
"Whoa there sugar cube. Calm down." Applejack said. "Ah was just jokin'." She then smirked at the flustered Element of Nobility. "Ah can tell you're not the kinda guy to take advantage of a girl like that. As for how Ah know this? You could've used that time you sent Flim and Flam packing to score a mug of cider. But you didn't. So you've got mah trust North. Ah'm ready and waiting for when you're good to go."
Magnet North let out a sigh of relief. "Oh thank Celestia. That takes SOOO much pressure off my mind." North fired up his magic. A light blue aura surrounding his hands. He then snapped his fingers, and the magic changed color from blue to red. "This might tingle a bit lass." North sent out a small beam of magic that hit Applejack. Coating her in a faint red aura. North snapped his fingers again, and his magic aura turned blue before he cast a beam of magic onto himself. "Now I'll demonstrate how opposites attract. Or you could say," North made a pulling motion in Applejack's direction, and the farm girl found herself floating over to North. "I've got a magnetic personality." North cancelled out his magic, and caught Applejack as she landed.
Applejack couldn't help the blush that came from North catching her. "Pretty neat trick sugar cube." She said as she broke eye contact. "Say, you want something to drink? It's pretty hot out." North raised one of his eyebrows in suspicion, but Applejack dashed off back to the house!
"Well." North said with a sigh. "I guess our attraction's starting out weak. Just means there's all the more room to build it up."
