The day of the tournament came and everyone filled the stands faster than usual. The bright sun was refracting the light from all the shiny buildings in Los Pegasus in a beautiful prism all over the Stadium. As the clouds above blocked the sun and caused the light to die down all the teams gathered in the center for the opening ceremony.
“ Ladies and Gentleman put your hands together for the eight teams that have worked their way to reach our lovely city,” The mc shouted as she gestured towards the big screen showing all eight teams standing on stage. The audience cheered their loudest as the camera shifted to each team.
“ And now let's introduce the Teams first representing the state of California is Team Silverwing,” the Mc shouted as the crowd erupted in applause.
“ Representing the state of Oregon is Team Wild Claw,” The Mc shouted as the crowd cheered again.
“ Representing the state of Washington is Team Navy Steel,” The Mc shouted as some of the audience held up some white sheets of paper and created a giant American flag with them.
“ Representing the state of Idaho is Team Lucky Clover,” The Mc shouted as the crowd continued to cheer.
“ Representing the state of Montana is Team Wild Spades,” The Mc shouted as the crowd kept cheering.
“ Representing the state of Wyoming is Team Heavy Metal,” The Mc shouted while the crowd cheered.
“ Representing the state of Utah is Team Dazzlings,” The Mc shouted as the cheering kept going.
“ And finally representing the state of Arizona is Team Crimson Night,” The mc shouted but the crowd was not as loud due to the fact that this team looked kind of creepy and gothic.
“ Now that introductions are out of the way let's go to the board and see the match ups,” The Mc shouted as the screen showed the bracket for this tournament,” Silver was surprised his team was in the A block and going first again. Silver was also relieved that the main enemy was not in the same block as them this time.
“ And our first match up in the A block is Team Silverwing and Team Navy Steel,” The crowd cheered as the match up appeared on screen.
“ And now we will have a thirty-minute intermission to allow both teams to set up and then we will reintroduce our competitors for this match,” The Mc shouted as the spotlights dimmed.
The truck for Team Silverwing backed in just in time and Silver Lyra and Lightning pulled their runners out While Ratchet prepared to activate the transformation sequence and his tools. The Leader of Team Navy Steel which was a white man dressed in a naval lieutenant’s uniform with a few metals on his right side came to Silver to introduce himself.
“ My name is Lieutenant Ironthorn of the Second Division Aviation Unit your father was our former captain until he retired how is Captain Bullet by the way?” Ironthorn said.
“ Nice to meet you and my dad is doing pretty well he is probably watching this match right now,” Silver replied.
“ Glad to know and good luck on the track,” Ironthorn said as he returned to his team’s pit to check the status of their setup. After both sides finished setting up their pits the Mc returned to her podium ready to announce the start of the first match.
“ We are back folks and now Starting our A block off on our left are our nation's greatest troops. The defenders of both our seas and sky give it up for Team Navy Steel,” the Mc shouted as the three members of Navy Steel walked into the stadium the third member carrying an American Flag like any of the armed forces would do during special events.
“ And on the right are the saviors of Canterlot City. The Wings of the sunny skies give it up for Team Silverwing” The Mc shouted as Silver Lyra and Lightning entered the arena with some of the teenage male spectators adding some whistling to the cheers for Lyra and Lightning. Naturally Lightning hated it and Lyra felt flattered.
“ Alright duel fans now that our teams our introduced lets get this match started so first taking the first leg for team Navy Steel is Jet Mistral. The crowd cheered as a light blue skinned man wearing a camo riding suit riding a camo runner almost identical to Silver’s only equipped with a overboost system meant for a much faster take off.
“ And riding the first leg for Team Silver wing is Lyra Heartstrings. The crowd cheered equally loud as Lyra pulled up next to Jet a bit intimidated by the fact she and her team are up against the navy.
“ Miss Heartstrings don't be so nervous we may be official members of the Military but for now we are just regular competitors like you and your friends. Jets words calmed Lyra down and the duel was about to begin.
“ Now activating the Action Field Speed World V,” The Mc shouted as she snapped her fingers. The entire stadium began to change into a track full of ramps and half-pipes along with a giant roulette wheel near the center for an added twist. The bubble containing the action cards burst and scattered them all across the field as both duelists took off once the green light flashed. Lyra was neck and neck with Jet until Jet increased his throttle some more and took the corner at the last minute thus earning him the first turn.

“The first move is mine so to start I will Summon Mecha Phantom Beast Tetherwolf in attack mode. A helicopter with the motif of a wolf began to slowly descend into the stadium hovering above jet and unleashed a mechanical howl.

“ Now I activate Tetherwolf’s effect when it is normal summoned I can create a Mecha Phantom Beast token. Tetherwolf revealed a hologram projector on its underside and created a hologram of itself right below it.

“ Normally this is the part where Tetherwolf’s level increases by the level of my tokens but I will discard my Level Jammer to negate that effect you see whenever a Monster’s level changes I can discard this card to revert that monster’s level back to its original Level. A strange device with a display screen clamped itself to Tetherwolf and flashed a seven which then changed into a four.
“But one token is not enough now I activate the Spell Flying V Formation,” Jet said as a spell with an image of five jets flying in a V formation appeared. While i control a Mecha Phantom Beast monster i can Special Summon three more Mecha Phantom Beast tokens in Attack Mode. three miniature hologram projectors suddenly took flight and projected three more copies of Tetherwolf and all five monsters took the form of the Flying V.

“ Five monsters already you navy guys sure don,t waste any time,” Lyra said a little impressed.
“ that's just the beginning ms heartstrings now I activate another Spell Tuner Swap,” Jet said as a spell with an image of Junk Synchron changing places with Dark Resonator appeared. This allows me to tribute one monster on my field and Special Summon a Tuner Monster from my Deck with the same level in attack mode so I will tribute one of my tokens and from my deck I Special Summon Blue Impala. One of Jet’s tokens flew into the air and exploded and out of the blast descended a blue impulse with the motif of an impala.

“ Now that the stage is set I tune my level three Blue Impala with my level four Tetherwolf to synchro summon one of our best troops. Blue Impala took off at top speed and disintegrated and turned into three stars that turned into three green rings that encircled Tetherwolf and turned it into four stars that fell into alignment before it all flashed.

“ Mighty soldier of the sky above let your vigilant eyes and mighty wings take off at top speed and protect our country from our foes! Synchro Summon! Take flight! Level Seven! Mecha Phantom Beast Concoruda!” A red and yellow plane with the motif of a garuda began to hover over Jet while keeping up with him and Lyra.

“ And finally I will set three cards face-down and end my turn,” Jet said as three set cards appeared behind Jet’s fleet.
“ My turn I draw,” Lyra said as she drew her sixth card. Lyra felt like this was too easy since Jet’s tokens have no attack and no defense points and considered the possibility that one of Jet’s face downs could hurt her if she rushed in recklessly. Lyra noticed she drew exactly what she needed.
“ For my first move I activate the spell Show Starter,” Lyra said as a spell with an image of a curtain opening and an audience settling down. This spell prevents you from activating your set cards until the end of the Battle Phase. Lyra’s spell sent some music scores flying towards Jet’s back row and not only turned all the cards black but engraved a clef on each of them.
“ Now that the coast is clear i activate Polymerization and fuse the Adagio Aria and Sonata in my hand to create a new monster. The three monsters in Lyra’s hand glowed and all three cards transformed into the monsters depicted on the cards and spun in the vortex.
“ Mighty lead singer of the concert, Song of fun and ignorance, song of indifference combine into one and bring this show to its finale! Fusion Summon! Take the stage! Level Nine! Leafa the Melodious Countess. A green and white flower began to descend from the sky and began to slowly bloom revealing a blonde haired fairy with blue eyes wearing a white and green gown with green music clefs on the white parts and then began to sing softly.

“ Why is your monster’s attack points undetermined?” Jet asked Lyra.
“ The fusion materials will determine those you see for each monster I used to Fusion Summon this card that amount is multiplied by 1000 so since I used three monsters Leafa attack points are 3000,” Lyra explained as Leafa’s tune began to pick up in volume.

“ But that's just her attack points her real effect is she gets one attack for each monster I used to summon her so since I used three monsters Leafa can attack three times, oh and in case you thought I was not paying attention I noticed your tokens have no attack points so this might hurt a little.
“ Time to battle Leafa attack his first token with Melody Burst Stream. Leafa gathered her energy from her lungs and unleashed a wave of concentrated sound towards one of Jet’s tokens. Jet looked around and saw an action card straight ahead. Lyra noticed it too and tried to grab it before Jet did, unfortunately, Jet was faster and successfully grabbed it and wasted no time in using it.
“ I activate the Action Spell Reinforce this gives the token you are attacking an extra 1000 attack points until the end of the turn. The token that was under attack was coated in a coat of metallic liquid which reinforced its metal plating.

“ That is still not enough to save your life points,” Lyra pointed out as her attack covered the area they were in and a thick layer of smoke covered both of them. Lyra was sure she reduced Jet’s fleet until the smoke cleared and the token was still flying high.
“ How is your token still alive my attack was clearly stronger so it should have been destroyed,” Lyra asked confused.
“ Simple Concoruda is one of our best soldiers as long as he is around my tokens can,t be destroyed by battle or card effects but don,t worry your attack still hit me hard,” Jet pointed out.

“ Then I will just get rid of your Concoruda Leafa focus your next attack on Concoruda. Leafa fired another concentrated blast of sound and aimed it for Jet’s Concoruda. Jets noticed a clutch action card and grabbed it. Lyra also grabbed an action card and both her and jet activated them at the same time.
“ I activate the Action Spell Take Flight since your attacking my Concoruda it gains 600 attack points until the end of the Battle Phase looks like both our monsters are going down. Concoruda began doing a loop de loop as its attack points raised significantly.

“ Not exactly Jet because I activate the Action Spell Miracle so my Leafa is sticking around for act three since she can't be destroyed in battle this turn. Leafa elegantly spun around the explosion and landed back on Lyra’s field and curtsied.
“ Time to finish this Leafy attack the token on the far left,” Leafa fired her sound wave at the token on the far left of Jet’s field. Jet saw another Action card and grabbed it. Even though Jet was about to lose this match he could at least deal some damage to Lyra before going out the door.
“ I may be going down but not before I make one last move I activate the Action Spell Phoenix Arrow this powerful Action Spell deals 1500 points of damage to you so good luck dealing with my teammates. Jet unleashed the flaming arrow that transformed into a phoenix which then proceeded to nail Lyra as Leafa’s attack nailed her target and ended the first leg for Team Navy Steel.

Jet proceeded to his team’s pit and pulled in to pass the baton along with his set cards and remaining tokens.
“ Sorry I could not keep the fight going for long Gale that fusion monster really took me by surprise,” Jet said as he dismounted his runner.
“ Not to worry Jet now that the battle is over we are now free to trigger our plan and besides this is Captain Bullet’s son we are talking about he assembled a very good team I'm actually excited to see what else they have,” Gale said as she mounted her runner and donned her helmet. Gale took off at rapid speed and caught up to Lyra faster than normal and drew her opening hand.
“ And now riding in for the second leg of Team Navy Steel is the lovely Gale Valentine,” The Mc shouted as a woman in her mid-twenties wearing the same camo riding suit as jet only this one was the woman’s version and the same long golden blonde hair as her mother flowing in the wind. The males in the audience began to whistle and hoot at her like most men do with pretty women. Gale ignored all of it and focused her sights on Lyra.

“ My turn I draw,” Gale said as she drew her sixth card. Gale decided to pick up where Jet left off before Lyra sealed his back row.
“ First i Activate one of the cards my teammate graciously left for me behold the Quick-play Spell Scramble!! Scramble!! Since i only have tokens on my field and you have that fusion monster of yours this spell allows me to tribute both of my tokens and Special Summon an equal amount of Mecha Phantom Beast Monsters from my deck however they will be shuffled back into my deck at the end phase so say goodbye to my tokens and hello to Black Falcon and Coltwing. Both of Gale’s tokens flew into the air and collided into each other and out of the explosion came a osprey with a colt motif and a black bird type aircraft with a falcon motif.

“ Now both my monster will gain six levels thanks to my tokens,” Gale’s monster began to glow with a green aura as their levels skyrocketed.

“ But that’s not the end so from my hand I activate the Continuous Spell Token Ballista,” Gale said as a Spell with an image of said mentioned weapon with a Sheep Token loaded on to it appeared and then manifested into a giant green ballista that landed on the center stage awaiting ammunition. Once per turn this spell allows me to tribute one token monster I control and inflict 700 points of direct damage to you and I will use this effect right now. Gale loaded one of her two tokens into the ballista and the token was launched and transformed into a fireball that nailed Lyra right in the back.

“ Now with one less token on my field both Coltwing and Black Falcon lose three levels. Both monsters began to shift down a little as their levels dropped.

“ Now that i have the right levels i overlay my Black Falcon and Coltwing. Both Black Falcon and Coltwing transformed into streams of green energy and began to orbit around each other as they entered a black galaxy like portal and exploded.
“ Mighty Mechanical dragon of the sky roar loudly and incinerate my foes to ashes and them blow them away with your mighty turbines of destruction! Xyz Summon! Report for duty! Rank Seven! Mecha Phantom Beast Dracossack! A Mechanical dragon that looked a lot like some kind of plane began to descend from the clouds above and then unleashed a mighty mechanical roar left the audience shaking in their seats from all that decibel and horsepower.

“ Before you point out the difference between our monster’s attack points let me tell you none of that will matter because i am activating Dracossack’s effect once per turn by Tributing a Mecha Phantom Beast monster i control i can target one card the field and destroy it however Dracossack can,t attack on the turn it uses this effect so i tribute my remaining token so i can destroy your Countess. The remaining Token on Gale’s field was absorbed by Dracossack and Dracossack unleashed a flamethrower from its mouth that was aimed directly at Leafa. Lyra noticed an clutch Action Card on her left and leaned in to grab it successfully. Lyra wasted no time in activating it.
“ I activate the Action Spell Mirror Barrier so now my Leafa is safe. Leafa was placed inside a transparent disco ball which shielded her from Dracossack’s flamethrower and kept her alive.
“ You may have dodged one of my monster’s effects but now i activate Dracossack’s other effect by detaching one overlay unit Dracossack generates two tokens to keep it safe from being destroyed in battle or by card effects. Dracossack ate one of its overlay units and the jet strapped on top of it launched two drones that projected two miniature versions of Dracossack to flank the original Dracossack on both sides.

“ Oh and just so you don,t pull off another triple attack like last time I’m activating an oldie but a goody behold the Continuous Trap Gravity Bind now as long as this trap remains in play all level four or higher monster is not allowed to attack and since Xyz monsters have ranks instead of levels Dracossack is immune to this card’s effect. The entire stadium was crushed under a heavy wave of gravity that left Leafa pinned to the ground with her legs crossed trying desperately to get back up while all of Gale’s monster flew safely above the field unaffected by the drastic change in gravity.
“ I set two cards face down and end my turn,” Gale said as two set cards appeared in Gale’s final S/T zones.
“ My turn i draw,” Lyra said as she drew her second card. With Gravity Bind in effect Lyra was stuck until she drew exactly was she needed.
“ I may not be able to attack but I can still use Leafa for something so first I activate the Spell Fusion Blast this card inflicts half of Leafa’s current attack points to you as direct damage so take this. Leafa mustered all of her strength to channel an orb of light and fired it despite the strange way it was moving because of the heavy gravity it still nailed Gale for a good amount of damage.
“ I thought you would resort to something like this so i activate my Trap Souvenir Grenade,” Gale said as a trap with an image of a female sniper hugging a swordsman while holding a grenade that was set to go off flipped face up. Whenever i would take effect damage this trap inflicts that damage to both of us. An active grenade was tossed onto the track right between Gale and Lyra before exploding and covering them in a thick layer of smoke. When the smoke cleared both Gale and Lyra were covered in black smudge marks.

“ You may be thinking hurting myself like that was reckless but as members of the US Navy we are always willing to take a bullet for our great nation no matter how much it hurts,” Gale said as the next action card was coming into view. Gale hit her nitro to grab it before Lyra and succeeded and after slowing down Gale wasted no time in activating her newly acquired Action Card.
“ Looks like we reached the end of your little performance so I activate the Action Spell Acid Burn this inflicts 300 points of damage to you which is exactly the amount I need to end this. Lyra remembered the last time she was hit by this spell but this time she was ready for it.
“ I'm not going anywhere yet so in response to your Action Card i Activate the Quick-Play Spell Fusion Breaker,” Lyra said as a spell with an image of Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon blasting an army of monsters appeared. By returning Leafa to my Extra Deck not only do i negate your effect damage but i destroy all the cards on your field so looks like I'm safe. As Leafa took her bow and left the field a pulse of energy was released from Lyra’s spell card and blow everything on Gale’s field up covering her side in a thick layer of smoke. When the smoke cleared not only was Dracossack still Flying high but the last remaining set card left behind by jet was still there.
“ That was a nice try however you did not destroy everything remember those tokens I had well they gave their lives to protect Dracossack from Destruction,” Gale explained as she pulled another card from her GY to explain how one of her set cards was still there as well.
“ Also since you destroyed this card i was able to rescue my Teammates last set card too with this. it's a handy Trap card called Booby Trap R,” Gale explained showing Lyra a Trap Card with an image of a yellow ethereal R over a purple portal. When this set card along with one or more Spells or Traps is destroyed by an opponent’s card effect simultaneously this card allows me to chose one of those cards from my GY and reset it on my field as for what it is you will just have to wait and see.
“ Looks like this really is the end for me but at least I cleared the way for my friends I end my turn so give me your best shot,” Lyra said as she smiled a little.
“ My turn I draw,” Gale said as she drew her fourth card. Gale suddenly saw why Silver chose Lyra for his team not just because of the love the two of them shared but because Lyra was a great strategist. It was like she was a song composer and her monsters where the orchestra.
“ Well Miss Heartstrings I must say it has been quite an honor to duel you and I am very impressed with your skills so now it's time to see what your friends can do,” Gale said as she prepared to give her monster her next command.
“ Ready Lyra time to battle Dracossack give miss Heartstrings a proper send-off with Turbine Fireblast. Dracossack unleashed a huge cyclone from the turbines on its wings and added the fire from its flamethrower to create a flaming tornado that blew away the rest of Lyra’s Life Points and caused her runner to emit smoke.

Lyra drove back to her team’s pit and pulled over right next to Lightning who was getting ready to take off. Lyra handed the baton over to Lightning.
“ I must say Lyra that was an impressive first win and an impressive match against the daughter of a legendary duelist,” Lightning said to Lyra as she slapped the band on her arm.
“ Thanks, Lightning I never thought we would see a legendary Duelist today but before I forget whatever you do be careful against Dracossack and their last set card something tells me it's going to be a game finisher,” Lyra replied as Lightning hit her gas and took off.
Meanwhile inside the Living Room of the Silver Mansion Silver Bullet along with his wife Ruby Style, Wind Rider, Edgar Heartstring and his wife Sylvia Heartstrings were watching the match on Bullet’s 100” plasma screen with surround sound and everything. Edgar and Sylvia cheered loudly as their daughter took her to leave from the duel and Wind Rider was thinking very hard about Team Navy Steel.
“ Hey Bullet aren't those the kids that enlisted with our unit eight years ago,” Wind rider asked after the names of the first two members refreshed his memory.
“ Why yes those are the new recruits we trained years ago and if their leader is who i think it is than our kids will have one heck of a challenge,” Bullet replied.
“ Well one thing for sure our Lyra proved her mettle today so let's get back to watching,” Sylvia said while Edgar agreed with her.
