“Cock-a-doodle-doo” Applejack said looking at the rising sun at the east orchard.She saw Twilight’s parents talking with Granny Smith ,so she decided to join them.
“Since When is the last time you seen Twilight?” Granny Smith asked.Both of them looked at each other.
“I remember when she’s five or six years old.That day is when we helped her packed her things since she is going to move in the castle to continue her study, but unfortunately our parting ways ended badly” Twilight Velvet said sadly.Her lips are quivering as her tears streamed down uncontrollably.Night light pat her head.He didn’t want to tell them the whole story, it might feel bad for both of them.He looked worried to his wife, when he remembered what happen to that night which is close to the the day of Heart’s Warming Eve.
Applejack came and saw that Twilight’s mother is crying.She walked beside Granny Smith and whispered.”What happened to her?”
“I never thought that your friend Twilight who’s brilliant,powerful and cheerful had a family problem.And I didn’t know that she didn’t see her parents since she was a filly” Granny Smith looked at the couple in concern.
“I thought so too, after that night when Spike told us about it.I felt sorry for Twilight.That’s why we are preparin’ for Twilight’s surprise”
“Speakin’ of surprise, I thought you’re goin’ to Ponyville to help Rarity decorate the whol Ponyville.”
Applejack’s eyes widen as she remembered that they didn’t finish their task yesterday.” It’s best to get movin’ I don’t want to have rotten apple friend, do I ?” she said as she place her hat on her head properly and start running towards Ponyville.While Granny Smith invite the parents inside the barn to grab some breakfast.
“Applejack is taking so long, thanks to her that I tried myself to wake up this kind of early even though I don’t like it” Rainbow groaned.
“I think she’s helping Granny Smith in the orchard” Fluttershy said.
“Why don’t we start decorating while waiting for Applejack” They all nodded at her.
“WAIT!! “ they turned around to see Applejack running towards them panting heavily.
“What the hay Applejack?! You said to me that I’m the one here needs to wake up early.Guess what? You’re the one who need it more than me” she grabbed Applejack’s mane so that she could muzzle to muzzle on her.Fluttershy pulled them off to each other.Still glaring at each other.
“I came here late ‘coz Twilight’s parents are crying because of how they really miss Twilight” she raised her voice glaring at Rainbow.Rainbow’s face softened by hearing that.
“Don’t fight to each other or else our surprise for Twilight might be ruined” Pinkie said as she point Twilight and Spike walking inside the Sugarcube Corner.
“Please tell me Pinkie that you moved the banquet in the town hall” Rainbow looked at the Sugarcube nervously.
“Yup me and Applejack moved it there once we finished cooking all the dishes” Rainbow sighed in relief.
“Come on Girls let’s decorate while Spike keep Twilight away from the Town Hall” Fluttershy said.Rarity distribute the Christmas tree decor to Fluttershy and Rainbow.Pinkie galloped towards the other way putting the streamers.Applejack followed her to decorate the Town Hall.
“You know Twilight, I think I like the idea that we are both siblings even though not by blood” Spike said happily.
“Of course Spike,I didn’t think you as an assistant only but a little brother too.Since Shining Armor moves out for training for being a guard in the castle.” She places the three bits to Mrs.Cake as she give the Gemstone cupcake to Spike while she eat her waffles.They both saw a empty chair and they both decided to sit there for a while.
“Twilight can I asked you something?” He asked.
“Well you’re asking me right now, so don’t ask me if you want to ask something....What is it you want to ask?” She grabbed a small bite to her waffle.
“Why do you hate Hearts Warming Eve?......Please don’t hate me” Spike covered his face with his claw preparing for Twilight to do some magics on him.But when he expect it to happen,it didn’t happen.
“I’m sorry Spike, I don’t think you will understand or will never understand ” she said.
“Let’s see if Twilight is doing okay” Pinkie said to herself.She galloped inside the Sugarcube Corner.She was about to say hi to Twilight when she heard her talking to Spike.She sit behind Spike’s chair and start listening.
“It’s complicated for me and my parents Spike” Twilight said.
“You could say anything Twilight, you know that I will do anything just to listen to you especially when you have a problem.You’re the one who told me that I’m your number one assistant, so it means that I’m the first one who’s going to help you get through with this” Twilight’s eyes are tearing up as soon as Spike’s words struck her heart.
“Remember the -day that I was a-accepted for b-being protegé by the p-Princess? T-that night my parents shouted at m-me and a-asked me to c-choose which of t-them I want.W-when I pick to s-study in C-Canterlot my dad he h-hit me with.....” she didn’t continue her sentence as her emotion took over her.Spike stood up from his chair and walk beside Twilight rubbing her back.
“Shh Shh it’s okay Twilight”
“As much as I want to spend Heart’s Warming Eve, I can’t.That’s why I keep telling to you and the others that I hate this ocassion, that it’s only a waste, and that it’s not important.I cope myself with my studies every Heart’s Warming Eve so that I can’t feel myself lonely.I don’t want to spend Heart’s Warming because that time is close to the day of the holiday” she sniffed.
“You know that I’m here and will always be.You’re the one who told me that I’m you’re number one assistant, so it means that I’m the one who’s going to help you solve this problems and get through with it” Spike looked at Twilight who keep crying on her hooves.
‘ So That’s why Twilight hate Hearts Warming Eve because it’s not her who’s missing in here it’s her parents and....us who always didn’t care or even bother about her feelings’ she thought sadly.She run outside the Sugarcube Corner to gather her friends.
“IT’S DONE NOW” Rainbow cheered.Four of them stomping their hooves as they completed their task.
“Where is Pinkie? I thought she’s only here just jumpin’ And hoppin’ around the town” Applejack looked around to see Pinkie galloped towards them.She panted heavily.
“What happen to you Darling” Rarity walked beside her.
“Well I was going to say hi to Twilight but when I heard her and Spike talking about something.So, I sneak near them and listen to what they are talking about”
“But Pinkie isn’t that kind of rude?” Fluttershy asked.
“I know it’s rude but I heard something important that you need to get some plastic to inhale on” all of them look at each other confused from what Pinkie’s trying to say and looked back to Pinkie.
Fluttershy gulped” W-what do you mean by that?” She asked nervously.
“She said that she hates Heart’s Warming Eve because her father hit her” she answered simply.
“WHAT??!!!” They asked at once.
“Well that’s what I heard.” she said.
“I thought it’s only Twilight’s fault but....I’m going to give her father some sense from doing that to her daughter” Rainbow said without waiting for their response she flew towards the barn leaving a rainbow trail behind.
“Come on ya’ll we need to follow her before somethin’ happen and before she ruin our surprise for Twilight.It’s so hard to decorate that darn thin’ just for nothin’” The all nodded as they followed Rainbow towards the barn.

Rainbow knocked on the door rapidly.When someone opened the door.And saw that Twilight’s parents are sitting on the sofa.
“Ohh Rainbow is there anythin’ You—“ she paused when Rainbow walked pass her and walked in front of Twilight’s father and slapped him with her hoof.They both jumped in surprise by Rainbow’s action while Night Light rubbed his aching cheek.
“What is wrong with you” Twilight Velvet asked.
“I just want to knock some sense to him for him to wake up and for making Twilight looked miserable this Heart’s Warming” her face redden as she glared at him angrily.Applejack And the others burst inside the barn stopping Rainbow.
“Wait Rainbow stop” Fluttershy said while she and Rarity walked beside her.
“You don’t understand what happened” Night Light glared back at her.
“Maybe ya have yer reason to why ya hit Twilight that time, especially when she was a filly” Applejack looked at them.
“I’m going to tell you what happened, but first please tell to Miss Dash that I will not going to start talking until she calm herself down” he said to them.All of them looked at Rainbow.Rainbow was taken a back by his condition.
She looked at them in shock“Wha-but-he......fine I’ll calm down, now start talking before I lose my temper” she said not meeting her gaze to them.They sighed in relief and put all of their eyes to Night Light who’s starting to talk and joined by his wife.
