//------------------------------// // Entry #010 // Story: Silent: Windy Chyme's Story // by Phoenix Heart 27 //------------------------------// Dear Diary, As quickly as it began, school is done for the summer! Thank Faust for that! My grades were stellar! Almost all “A”s (I had like 2 “B”s)! When I got home on my last day, dad was there. At first, I flinched as I approached him with my report card in my hoof. He looked nicer than usual. He greeted me with a smile. An actual smile diary! That’s something I hadn’t seen him do in a long time. So he asked me how my day was and I told him about it and mentioned my report card. When he asked to see it, I (very apprehensively) hoofed it to him. What came next shocked me so much! He scooped me up like when I was younger and gave me a big hug. Told me he loved me and that he was sorry for how he’d been acting over the past 2 years. So when he saw that my grade point average said “3.8” he was happy. So happy that he insisted that we celebrated. He told me to get dressed in one of my real pretty dresses and call up whatever friend I wanted because we were going out to eat. I was confused because we barely had enough bits this month to pay rent and groceries. Much less on gas, electricity and cable/internet. While I questioned that in my head, I wasn’t about to let a situation like this go unnoticed! So I ended up calling Stormy and Lightning up and after some parental talks and pick-ups, we were off to my favorite place on Equus: “Chazz E. Cheeser’s”. Perfect way to celebrate a great report card and getting Honor Roll for the 2nd time this school year (which I told dad on the way there)! Things were FUN! I beat dad in ski ball and we all had pizza and ice-cream. Lightning had won like 5 rounds of one of those racing games and had enough tickets to get a light up musical ring that was worth 700 tickets...which he gave to me (only because I gave him half of my bag of gummy worms). I ended up setting a new record on one of the dance games they had there and, combined with the 600 tickets I collected from a few hours of ski ball, I had enough for the ultimate prize: A giant stuffed dolphin which was like 1000 tickets! Stormy only had 800 tickets and got herself a lava lamp and a smaller stuffed dolphin. Now I’m heading to bed with Bubby and my new dolphin. Wonder what I’m gonna name her (and yes, my dolphin is a girl)? Goodnight diary. Love, Wind Chyme (age 7 and 1/2) P.S.: I now have a name for the dolphin. Diary, meet Cheyenne!
