Adagio's Minor Chord

Five weeks ago, the Dazzlings, Adagio Dazzle, Aria Blaze and Sonata Dusk, were defeated by the Rainbooms during the Battle of the Bands. They had destroyed the Dazzlings' pendants which they drew power from, which they could not longer do. Without them, their nothing. They're all now harmless. They aren't a threat to anyone anymore...

And it's all because of those fucking Rainbooms!

Even weeks after these events, they still managed to live fine. Especially Aria and Sonata. They managed to get over their loss and continue forward with life. Yes, Aria was still upset and they still get nasty glares from others but they managed to live passed it.

Adagio, however, is different. She was still absolutely furious at what happened. There wasn't a single day without her either throwing a fit of anger or bursting into tears. The other two former sirens tried all they possibly could to cheer up their upset sister, but they were never successful, so they soon enough gave up. They both hated seeing her like this, but they couldn't blame her. They all lived for this moment for centuries and yet it was taken away from them in only minutes. Everything they ever dreamed of, what they had built up for, what their power was for, all gone, because of a group of teenagers.

Adagio was currently laying down on their living room couch, facing the ceiling. She was thinking, and very deeply, 'What went wrong? How did they stop us just like that? A moment I lived for for my entire life, and yet it was taken away from me by some talentless whores!'

"Adagio? Are you okay?" came the voice of her blue haired sister.

Adagio turned to Sonata. "What do you want?" she asked.

Sonata sat down at the end of the same couch. "I just wanted to see how you were doing is all. And I made you a PB&J sandwich," Sonata said, placing a plate on the coffee table. She sighed, "You still thinking about... that night?"

"It's all I can think of, honestly."

"Well, look on the bright side. At least you still got us! Me, you and Aria, against the world!" Sonata smiled.

Adagio sat up and looked at Sonata at the end of the couch. "Sonata, there is no bright side, living with you and Aria is bad enough, and don't say that it's us against the world. We have nothing for this world!" She laid back down with a tear running down her cheeks. "Not anymore, anyway."

Sonata looked at her, sadly. "So that's it? You're just gonna lay there crying?"

Adagio would have retaliated, but it wasn't worth it. Not yet, anyway. "What do I have left to live for anyway? I lead us into such a sorry and pitiful life now."

"Okay, that's about enough for me to take." Aria appeared from the kitchen. "How come you're still sad over our loss? It's been over a month, Adagio! Let it go already!"

Adagio got up from the couch and looked at her other sister. "Let it go? How can you expect me to let something like that slide?" she barked. "We have been building up our power hundreds of years! And then those Rainbow whores had to come out of nowhere and completely take away what we lived for! And you're telling me to let that go?!"

"Yes, it's shitty, but think of this, Adagio: What would we have done if we actually managed to win?"

Adagio thought about it for a moment but came with no answer.

"Exactly, nothing! If we managed to accomplish world domination, we would no longer have anything to live for. Our life would be far more boring than it is right now."

Aria sighed and looked away from her. "Sonata and I have moved on, Adagio, we think you should too."

...

"Adagio?"

When Aria turned back around, Adagio was nowhere to be seen. Their front door was open. Clearly Adagio had stormed off to be on her own. The two sisters just stared outside, with Sonata showing a sorry look on her face, while Aria shared a look of disappointment.

Aria heard Sonata whimpering. She hugged her. "Don't worry Sonata. She just needs to open her eyes is all," Aria said to Sonata calmly while stroking her hair.

Adagio was walking down the streets of the city with her hood over her face, as to hide herself from the public around her and to stop herself from shivering. She mumbled curses under her breath, "Damn Rainbooms! Damn Aria! Damn everyone!"

She continued down the street, shivering from the coldness of the night. She hid her face from everyone who passed her. Adagio has been given enough shit already. Getting recognised because of her past actions was the last thing she needed. Right now, she needed to be alone.

Adagio turned the corner at the end of the street and it turned out she was at the café where she had first witnessed the Equestrian magic of this world. Things were much different then. The three of the Dazzlings would sit at the same booth almost every night and use their singing voices to power their amulets. With that power, they were able to hypnotise people to do whatever they wanted. They had done this for centuries and it killed Adagio every time to think about how easily her and the Dazzlings were stopped.

Tears of rage formed in her eyes as she turned away from the café and continued walking down the street. She kept passing familiar victims, whom were exposed to their magic, and was constantly reminded how she can no longer feed off of them.

Adagio began sniffling. "Those sons-of-bitches ruined everything! They took away everyone we had and now we can no longer call ourselves sirens!" She passed a corner which lead to a movie store. "I swear, if I ever come across one of those Rainbooms again, I'm gonna-!"

She stopped at the sight of a pink haired, yellow skinned, girl who was leaning against the all of the store. Almost immediately, Adagio was able to recognise this girl. She was the shy one of the Rainbooms, Flutter... whatever her nane was. Adagio's rage suddenly built up inside of her and it only grew the more she looked at the girl. What was better was that she was alone, and she was helpless.

Adagio started walking towards the girl ahead of her. She had the chance to show her something she should have during their first encounter with one another. Adagio took this opportunity without hesitating. Once she reached the girl, she punched her with full force against her cheeks, violently grabbed her by her coat and threw her back against the wall. Adagio repeated hitting her against the wall until the girl eventually fell to the ground.

She began silently sobbing. "P-Please stop!" the girl got out.

But Adagio didn't want to stop. She wanted this to last.

She began kicking the girl's stomach while the girl continued to cry in pain. She tried to call for help but the shy girl barely had the power to scream anymore.

Adagio was about to go in for one more hard kick but then she was thrown away elsewhere by someone else. This newcomer punched her directly onto her forhead and had attempted to pull Adagio's hood off to reveal her face but she held it down and tried to shake this person off of her.

"Fluttershy! Run!" the person cried.

Adagio recognised that voice. It was that damn Sunset Shimmer girl! The one who stopped her and her sisters! The one who stopped her... and her sisters...

It was her fault! She made them like this! She is what caused Adagio such pain for over a month! She destroyed their amulets! If it wasn't for Sunset, Adagio's plan would have worked flawlessly!

Sunset continued to try and pull Adagio's hood off but ended up pulling her towards her. Adagio took this chance to headbutt this bitch directly onto her nose.

Sunset cried in pain as she was sent tumbling backwards and onto the road. Her vision readjusted and had gotten back up to her feet, but it was too late as there was an oncoming car that had appeared only feet away from her. The wheels of the car screeched trying to come to an immediate halt. It didn't stop in time though...

Adagio watched as Sunset’s body was sent flying down the road like a ragdoll being thrown. Her body laid on the road showing no signs of movement.

"Sunset! No!" Fluttershy cried out, rushing over to her friend. She began sobbing even harder as she held Sunset's head. "H-HELP! SOMEBODY, PLEASE HELP!" she screamed.

Adagio watched them both in horror. This wasn't what she wanted. She only wanted to bring them as much pain as they gave her. She didn't want this at all! Adagio took off sprinting faster than she ever did back to her house, leaving Fluttershy and the body of Sunset Shimmer.

Adagio slammed the door behind her as she reached her house. She panted fiercely as her face remained traumatised after tonight's events. She slowly walked backwards away from the door and into the living room. She crashed onto the couch and began crying to herself.

Aria rushed into the living room. "Adagio!" she said. "What's going on? What happened to you?" She stared directly into Adagio's watery eyes and had noticed a few bumps and bruises on her face.

Adagio didn't answer her. How could she, though? She can't just come straight and admit she most likely killed someone tonight. Instead, she hugged Aria tightly and cried into her chest. Aria was surprised by Adagio's sudden act of affection.

This was the first time in quite a long time where Adagio had actually hugged somebody. Aria thought this was because of whatever had happened tonight. Adagio was also crying much harder than usual. Whatever had happened, it was traumatising. But it wasn't worth hurting her even more by asking her about it. Instead, she returned the hug. They both held eachother tightly for a while. Adagio's stream of tears stained Aria's shirt but she couldn't care less about that. All that mattered right now was what Adagio was feeling.

Adagio continued crying for another few minutes before letting go of Aria. She calmed down a bit but her cheeks were stained with tears. Aria wiped the remaining tears from her sister's face and smiled calmly at her. Adagio smiled back and rearranged herself on the couch to sit up.

She let out a long sigh. "I've... not been a good sister lately, have I?"

"What?!" Aria said, shocked. "Adagio. No, no, you've always been a great sister. You've just been down in the dumps lately, no one can blame you for that." She hugged Adagio again. "You've always been a great sister, and leader. Hell, if it wasn't for you taking the lead, we'd have probably split apart the moment we got to this shitty world. We love you, Adagio, and we always will. No matter what."

Adagio started crying again, this time with happiness. "Thank you, Aria. I love you guys too," she whispered back to Aria.

"So, what did happen to you, if you don't mind me asking?"

Adagio pulled away from her purple sister. "Um..."

2 Weeks Later...

The Dazzlings had registered into the hospital. They walked down the long corridors, looking for the room they wanted to visit. Sonata was the one who found the room and they all entered one by one.

At the back corner of the room laid a girl with bandages all on her arms, legs and head, Sunset Shimmer, who was doing surprisingly fine after the incident that night.

Sunset was just staring out of the window until Adagio cleared her throat to get her attention.

"What're you three doing here?" Sunset asked weakly.

Sonata was the one to answer. "We just wanted to see how you were doing."

"Why would you care about how I'm doing?"

Adagio sighed. "That's sort of why we're here... About the night of your accident... Um..."

Sunset wasn't sure of why they knew about her accident. But then she put two and two together and came to a realisation. "Which one of you three did this to me?!" Sunset aggressively asked.

Adagio stepped forward. "I-I did... and I came to apologise."

Sunset was surprised by that. "You? Apologise to me? After everything that has happened between us?"

She nodded slightly. "After you and your friends destroyed our gem stones, I was the only one who never got over it. Everyday, I would wake up to feel sadness and rage and think about how you all ruined us. Because of you, we can no longer call ourselves sirens.

"That had caused me some serious problems. I would get suddenly get mad to the point were I would break something, or I would just break down and begin sobbing." She looked to Aria and Sonata.

"My sisters would try and help me feel better, but it never worked. I continued to feel horrible and it only got worse.

"That was until that night came. I stormed out after Aria told me how she had enough of me being always sad. I walked down many streets..." Adagio was struggling to continue speaking without feeling as though she would cry again. "...until I came across your friend. The moment I saw her, I wanted to make her feel what I had been feeling or five weeks. Pain. And then..." She didn't want to bring it up again.

"But know that I didn't want this to happen. After everything that had happened, I think something clicked in my head. This wasn't what I wanted. The pain I had brought to the both of you that night wasn't worth it. I thought bringing you and your friends pain would help me feel better. But as it turns out... it didn't. And I am deeply sorry, Sunset."

Sunset was at a loss for words after hearing the horrible things Adagio had went through. "I-I didn't realise. I didn't think I would push you to such a limit. I guess I have to apologise as well." She looked up to the ceiling with guilt.

Aria now stepped forward. "Also, we wanted you to know that we're new people now. And we would appreciate it if you gave us a chance and hopefully become friends." She knew she would have gagged after saying that if she hadn't changed. This wasn't the case though. Aria was very sincere. She had drastically changed after the Battle of the Bands.

Sunset looked back at the three girls and smiled. "Well, if you came all this way to apologise, then I don't see why not."

"For realzies?!" Sonata yelled excitingly.

"Heh. For realzies," Sunset laughed.

Sonata smile grew larger and larger. Never before had her sisters seen her so happy. Then again, they never actually had any real friends before, so this was exciting for all of them.

Sunset yawned. "I think that's the painkillers kicking in now. I guess I'll see you three later." Her eyes closed to go to sleep.

"We'll visit you soon, okay?" Adagio said.

"I'll be waiting," Sunset began falling to sleep.

The Dazzlings all walked out of the hospital. Adagio had never felt so happy in all her life. She actually liked, no, loved this feeling. This was the time were they could finally start over freshly. And it all starts with a friend, a real friend. Right now, things were finally turning around for the Dazzlings and they couldn't be happier.
