Sly Cooper: Family of Thieves

by Blackdrag-rose

Band: Cairo Museum

Their plan was bare bones, which was thanks to the fact that they didn't have much time to really survey the situation, obtain information on the routes that the guards took, or figure out exactly where the Clockwerk parts were located, but fortunately that last part was supplied by Carmelita. Bentley went over the various blueprints he could get his hands on, before they arrived at the museum, and was able to create a basic plan for them to follow when they reached their destination. Sly, Gilda, and Derpy would run over the rooftops until they reached the dinosaur exhibit, where they should be able to lower themselves into the room the ancient bones were in and make their way up to a walkway that was above the floor of the area. From there, according to what Bentley could see, they could activate an elevator and raise him up to their level, as he intended to enter the museum through the basement and met up with them, before finding the main terminal to give them total access to the systems throughout the buildings. Murray and Diz, on the other hand, were supposed to meet the siblings halfway, dropping into an area that was along the way to where the Clockwerk parts were located... once Bentley was able to give them the best place for them to drop into the building.

At the same time they all knew that Carmelita, along with someone that was supposed to be her new partner, would be near the Clockwerk parts and that they would likely be guarding them in some manner, which meant they had to be careful when they reached the target destination... and by then Bentley was sure that he would figure out how to draw Carmelita and her partner away from the parts so the others could take them.

When Murray stopped the van near the museum, in a location where he would be able to quickly access it if they needed to run and where they could easily carry the Clockwerk parts to, the gang got out of their seats, gathered the various pieces of their gear, and climbed out of the van. From there the six of them split up and headed towards their destinations, so that when they were all in position they could begin the operation, to which Bentley headed into the basement, Murray slowly climbed up a different building with Diz following him, and the siblings made their way over to the building with the dinosaur exhibit. Sure enough the three of them were able to quickly make their way over to the building in question, though as they did so they found that hatch that would allow them to enter the part of the building they needed to drop into. Sly, upon reaching the hatch, pulled out some rope and attached it to something nearby, allowing him to climb down into the exhibit room below them, though Derpy and Gilda followed after him the moment he reached the floor... though Gilda made sure to undo the rope and collect it so they wouldn't leave a clue that might trace back to them.

Once the three of them were together again, and took a moment to actually stare at the large T-Rex skeleton that was nearby, they focused on the task at hand and pulled out their binocucoms, so they could let the others know that they were in position and that they were ready to begin the operation.

"Breaker Alpha Foxtrot this is the Wizard," Bentley said, seeing their icons appear on his own binocucom, as he knew what that meant, while at the same time Murray and Diz continued heading towards their own destination so they could be ready for when the siblings arrived, "do you read me Sitting Duck?"

"This is Peking Duck. I hear you, Blizzard." Sly replied, though while part of him was intentionally saying the wrong words, to calm his nerves considering that they were going after the parts of his ancient enemy, the other part didn't think they really needed codenames at the moment.

"No Sly, I'm 'the Wizard' and you're 'Sitting Duck'." Bentley replied, though his tone indicated that he couldn't believe that Sly was even doing this at the moment, but at the same time Gilda and Derpy knew that Bentley was only using these new codenames to calm himself down as well.

"I read you loud and clear, Lizard." Diz commented, as he had decided to have a little fun and speak up from where he and Murray were, while at the same time Sly and his sisters had to resist the urge to chuckle, because at the very least they weren't completely nervous about the situation they were in.

"No I'm... forget it, none of you are taking this seriously." Bentley stated, where his tone revealed that he was slightly annoyed with all of them, but since they were all in position he knew that he'd have to talk with them later and focus on the task at hand.

"Look, Bentley, I know this is your first time out in the field but you've got to loosen up." Gilda commented, as she knew that this was going to be hard for their friend, but he needed to remember the training that Sly put him and Murray through during the last two years, "If we're going to get to those Clockwerk parts I need you on your toes. So in plain talk, what's your status?"

"Well, I've established myself in the basement," Bentley replied, revealing that he had accomplished the task that he had given himself when he was creating the plan they were following, which was great news for their operation, "and I'm pretty sure I can rewire the service elevator if one of you can power it up from that security station."

"Sure thing." Sly said, as their binocucoms shifted to the switch in question, which was on the wall of the walkway that rested above them, though at the same time Bentley sighed as the connection was terminated, allowing them to put their binocucoms away and focus on the task at hand.

Fortunately it didn't take them long to figure out a way up to the walkway above them, as that required jumping on a bounce pad that was just in front of the T-Rex and landing on the dinosaur's head, to which they carefully walked across the bones, to make sure they didn't topple the skeleton, and jumped over to the walkway. Sure, Gilda and Derpy could have used their wings for something like that, but there were times where they wanted to do things like normal thieves, which meant they refrained from using their wings all the time... though they said nothing as they reached the service elevator and flipped the switch.

"Okay, I've spliced the wires... ouch!" Bentley said, where the siblings heard him hurt himself a little in the process of rewiring the elevator, though they stood there as they waited for him to come up to their level, "Hold on. There it is."

When the elevator arrived Sly, Gilda, and Derpy greeted Bentley as the elevator came to a stop and he walked out of the container, though at the same time they could see that he was wearing a bulletproof vest with some pads on his knees and elbows. He was also wearing what many would assume was a hunter's hat, which went well with the crossbow that he was carrying with him at all time, one that he outfitted with a number of darts that he could use if he was forced to actually fight someone. Bentley had also managed to figure out how to craft a few explosives over the last two years, though since they were trying to sneak through the museum, and not let the guards find them before they reached their objective, he had decided to leave them in the van, especially since he could ask either Gilda or Derpy to get them if he actually needed one of them in the near future.

The moment Bentley was up on the platform with them, and left the elevator behind, he headed over towards the security computer that he had pointed out a few moments ago, to which the siblings walked over to the locked door and waited near him as he worked his magic.

"Spotlights are offline... there goes the laser security system... I'm working on the security gate." Bentley commented, speaking up every time he disabled one of the systems that were resting along the path that Sly, Gilda, and Derpy needed to take so they could reach the Clockwerk parts, "Presto, all clear."

"Thanks, pal." Sly said, though at the same time the gate in front of them moved out of their way, allowing them to move into the museum and really begin the search for their target, "For your first time out, you did pretty well."

"Oh, this operation is far from complete." Bentley stated, though he stared at the security computer and the codes he had put in, as there was more that he needed to do before he could leave the area, "Now that the lasers and spotlights are offline, Murray and Diz should be moving into position for your rendezvous. I'll stay here and provide computer support while you go on ahead."

With that said Sly and his sisters walked into the corridor that was in front of them, where they ignored the locked paths that were in front of them and carefully followed the path that Bentley had created for them, while at the same time the intercom came online,

Uh, attention all guards. This is the network administrator. Bentley said, though while his tone revealed that he was nervous he was actually doing quite well for his first time out in the field, as both Gilda and Derpy agreed with their brother's statement, We're installing some new software into the security mainframe, so don't be alarmed if the systems get turned off for a while. Uh, thank you. You're all doing a great job.

Thanks to the path that Bentley had created for them, allowing the three of them to bypass the security guards that were walking around the museum, Sly, Gilda, and Derpy were able to exit the building and looked out at all the other buildings that were around them... and pulled out their binocucoms, as there was something else Bentley needed to tell them before they moved forwards.

"According to the information Carmelita gave us, the Clockwerk parts are being stored up there." Bentley stated, to which their binocucoms moved towards the building that he was talking about, the one that had a large glass window, large enough for Clockwerk's body to fit through, "Now, to get access, you're going to have to meet up with Murray and Dix at the rendezvous point. Unfortunately, the route through the garden is filled with guards."

"No problem, we'll just take the long way around." Derpy said, staring at the nearby rope that happened to be off on their right, one that seemed to form a path that would require them to leave the museum for a moment, until they reached the other end and returned to a new building.

Sly was the first one to move as they put their binocucoms away, as he jumped and spun around as he landed on the rope, allowing him to walk above the street that was below them, which had a number of cars still moving, before Gilda and Derpy followed his lead. Together the three of them made their way over to the buildings that were across the street, making sure to avoid drawing attention to themselves, and snuck around the alley that they discovered, before they reached another balcony that had a snake statue resting on the right of where the rope ended. As the three of them neared the balcony, however, Bentley commented that Murray must have gotten himself and Diz lost, since they weren't in front of the trio, but none of them moved. The reason behind that decision was because of what was coming next, as they could see the shadow that Murray made was beginning to appear on one of the walls, to which they prepared themselves as Murray jumped into the air.

"Thunder Flop!" Murray said, to which he smashed through the glass dome that was attached to the ceiling, raining glass down on the area that was in front of the siblings, before he smashed into the table and crushed it, where he picked himself up and dusted himself off, "Greetings, citizens. I hope none of you were harmed by my meteoropic entrance."

Sly, Gilda, and Derpy found that Murray was now wearing a maroon wrestling mask, fighting gloves, and a large belt, which accompanied his usual attire, making him look like a fighter and not a thief, but he was definitely the gang's muscle and none of them questioned his choice of clothing.

"Murray, I'm pretty sure they kept at a safe distance." Diz stated, to which he jumped down into the area and landed beside his friend, who smiled at him for a moment, though they were both glad that none of the others had been in the way of the entrance.

Diz's attire was slightly different from the rest of the gang, as since there had been multiple times where his power had changed his form, shocking those around him when it happened since he still had no control over that, he decided to wear clothing that fit both of his forms and wouldn't require a change. As such he was wearing a brown pair of shorts and a brown shirt, both of which worked for either of his forms, and he carried a cane that revealed that he was a member of the Cooper Gang, since they were the only ones that carried this type of weapon, though he only used it when he needed to knock someone out.

"Good, good... the Thunder Flop knows neither friend nor foe, only destruction." Murray said, though he looked rather pleased with himself, which was understandable since he was fully adapted to his new persona and responsibilities, which actually worried Bentley a little, though he said nothing about it.

"Yeah, could you maybe channel some of that 'raw energy' into this security gate?" Gilda commented, getting them back to the task at hand as she beckoned to the gate that was right behind Murray and Diz, as they needed Murray to open it so they could move forward.

"Of course, it is nothing before 'The Murray'." Murray stated, to which he grinned as he turned towards the gate and slipped his fingers under the bottom of it, where he braced himself and carefully pulled it up, moving it to a position where everyone could slip under the halfway opened gate.

As the group walked out to the balcony, and Murray joined them, both Gilda and Derpy noticed something that they hadn't seen earlier, when they were staring at the building that the Clockwerk parts were supposed to be housed in, there was already an opening resting in the barred window. That automatically told them that something was wrong, so when they noticed it resting there, and Sly spotted it a moment later, all three of them pulled the plug on the operation and had Murray, Derpy, and Diz head back to the van, so they could pick Bentley up. At the same time Sly and Gilda, deciding to see if any information was left behind, carefully crossed over the rope that was in front of them and made their way into the building. As they did that, and found an area that had definitely been made ready for the Clockwerk parts, they not only found that all of the parts had been taken, maybe before they even knew that they were being brought to this museum, but they also discovered that Carmelita and her partner were present... to which the two siblings hid behind some crates and observed the duo for a moment.

Carmelita's partner happened to be a bengal tiger with pink and purple colored fur, though the sisters knew that her name was Neyla, based on what Carmelita told them, and she happened to be wearing brown shorts, a blue tank top, a red and gold hooded cape, and flat shoes. Despite the fact that neither of the sisters actually played video games, as they mostly watched Murray, Bentley, and Sly do that, they could tell that the overall look that Neyla was going for resembling a video game archaeologist. It was rather strange, since she was supposed to be an Interpol detective, and her weapon of choice was odd as well, since it happened to be a heavy whip, one that looked like it could hurt if she lashed out at someone, which told the sisters that they had better stay out of her way. What really caught Sly and Gilda's attention was the fact that neither Carmelita or Neyla were bothering to hide themselves at the moment, which made sense considering that the parts had been stolen recently... and that they seemed to be talking about something important, something that Sly knew they needed to know before they left the museum.

Gilda, knowing what was going through Sly's mind at the moment, decided that it was okay for her to use a little bit of her wind magic to brush Carmelita's leg, letting her know she was standing near the window without revealing herself or causing Carmelita to turn towards her... which could, in turn, give them the information they needed on who might have stolen the Clockwerk parts, so they could steal them back.

"So, Carmelita, do you think it was the Cooper Gang that made off with the Clockwerk parts?" Neyla asked, though her tone indicated that she was disgusted about something, but Sly and Gilda had the feeling that it was either directed towards the gang or towards Carmelita herself.

"No, it isn't the Coopers." Carmelita replied, as there were a number of things that had happened when the Clockwerk parts had been hauled off that didn't match what the gang did, and even then none of them had said anything about striking the day that they did, "The entrance was messy and there were guard casualties... if this had been a Cooper Gang operation they would have knocked them out."

"Of course you would know that, given your history with them." Neyla said, her tone indicating that she might know something that she shouldn't, though at the same time she glanced at Carmelita and noticed that she was deep in thought about something, "Based on what we saw, I would have to guess that we're dealing with the Klaww Gang."

"And how much do we know about them?" Carmelita inquired, mostly because she was curious as to what they knew about the gang, as she had been focused on the Coopers since her first run in with Sly, but also because this could be what a certain someone was looking for, "I only ask because I have been focusing my attention on Sly and his sisters."

"Unfortunately, we don't know much about them, save for the fact that they deal in illegal spice," Neyla replied, though her tone told anyone that was listening that she was disgusted with the fact that Carmelita was focused solely on the Cooper Gang, "and that they prefer violence over all other methods they could have used. So far we've been able to guess at two suspected members of their gang; Rajan, who might be located somewhere in India, and Dimitri Lousteau, who apparently has a completely legitimate nightclub in Paris."

"Well, it's a good start." Carmelita commented, though at the same time she felt Gilda's wind disappear rather suddenly, indicating that she had heard everything Neyla had said and was going to relay it to the others, meaning that she'd be following after them soon enough.

Gilda didn't say a word as she and Sly left the building, to which she unfurled her wings and carried Sly back towards the area that the van was in, where they would be able to meet up with Derpy, Bentley, Murray, and Diz, who were going to be interested in hearing what happened to the Clockwerk parts. She found it odd that the parts were already in the hands of another evil gang, one that that struck the museum before anyone had known that the pieces of the ancient owl were going to be put on display there. That told Gilda that there had to be a mole in Interpol, one that had to be working for his Klaww Gang, but even if that was true it didn't chance the fact that the gang knew who they needed to go after so they could get the pieces of Clockwerk back, as there was no telling what the individual members of the gang had planned for the parts they had taken. No one said anything as Murray turned on the van and they headed for Paris, the area that Dimitri was supposed to be operating in, as they were a little sore over missing their chance to get all the parts, but that only motivated them to do their best to take down the Klaww Gang.

None of them were sure what they were going to find when they eventually tracked down Dimitri, in terms of what he was using whatever parts of Clockwerk he had taken, but they planned on being ready for anything and everything he might throw at them... as they would be taking his pieces away from him in due time.
