"Were here little ones" Luna informed her two little passengers, both of them had their jaws dropped when they saw where Luna had taken them, they had thought they where going to the small toy shop in ponyville but Luna had brought them to the massive one in Canterlot.
"Wow Princess i thought you where just taking us to the little toy store in Ponyville" Scootaloo said in awe as she hopped of the Lunar Regents back.
Luna chuckled at the awe in Scootaloos voice before giving her a reply "Oh little one, why would i take you there when you have so much choice here?" she asked as they began to trot through the entrance.
Once they were inside Scootaloo and Spike raced off along the different aisles leaving Luna to trot along the first aisle idly waiting for them to turn up with the first things they wanted, and while her big sister had told her not to spoil them with anything they wanted, Luna had every intention of doing just that.
As Spike raced down the power pony aisle, Scootaloo turned into an aisle she knew a certain Cyan Pegasus mare would be just as giddy over as she was, honestly Rainbow might have been one now but she hadn't stopped seeing Spitfire and the other bolts as her idols. As she walked down the aisle looking at all the different Wonderbolt figures including one of Rainbow Dash herself something caught her eye, it was in the section titled Wonderbolt approved, as she got closer she realized that what she had saw was a scooter helmet completely plain except the wonder bolt logo on either side. Once she reached it she picked it up and read the label.
'The Creative Wonder was created by Dash as a way for young pony's to express themselves while staying safe riding their bike or scooter, thanks to a special spell what ever you decide to do with the helmet be that paint it or color it with felt tips once the color has been applied it won't wear off.
After reading the label and deciding she would get it Scootaloo knew what her next port of call would be, if she was going to get a new helmet she might as well get a new scooter "Oh Luna damn it" she muttered under her breath when she realized that she would probably need a basket to carry around the different things she wanted to buy.
"Sorry i can't damn thin air little one" Luna whispered into Scootaloos ear playfully, earning a small eep from the startled little filly. "why don't you put the helmet in this basket and then we can go look at the scooters together" Luna said as she levitated a basket off of her back and in front of Scootaloo.
"hehe sorry for cursing Princess Luna" Scootaloo replied smiling sheepishly up at the Lunar Princess, who to Scootaloos surprise was now trying to hold back a chuckle.
"Oh little one do not fret, you would not believe how many times i can curse in an hour" she said to the now awe struck filly stood in front of her, who no doubt now had images of Luna swearing swirling round her head. "Though don't make a habit of it, i would rather not have to explain to your mum's that i let you swear OK?" Luna quickly asked Scootaloo who was finally out of her trance
"OK Princess" Scootaloo replied before trotting towards the Scooter aisle, where believe it or not Spike was stood looking at the Different Scooters himself. Once Spike noticed Scootaloo was trotting over to him he grinned enthusiastically at her before pointing to a orange and purple Scooter next to him that would be just the right size for either of them.
"I reckon you should get that one Scoots" he said as she came within earshot. "it's the newest model of it's kind" he added after rereading the information board next to the display.
Both Spike and Scootaloo where very giddy about the Scooter until their eyes fell on the price, 500 bits.
"I can't ask the Princess to get me something this expensive" Scootaloo said softly.
"Yeah, i was going to ask for one too, but we can't ask her to spend a thousand bits on two Scooters." Spike added sullenly.
"Nonsense, a thousand bits to me is like a single bit to anypony else!" Luna exclaimed to the two of them causing them to jump slightly. Luna chuckled at their cute reaction to her little scare before adding "Scootaloo why don't you and Spike look around the rest of the store while i buy you both a Scooter and the protective gear to go with them." Spike and Scootaloo nodded in agreement before both disappeared down a toy isle together while Luna went back to the Wonderbolt aisle to get another creative wonder helmet and find some knee and arm pads for them.
Half an hour later, with two brand new Scooters and all the gear to safely ride them, as well as a set of action pony figures each and an overwhelming gift of two thousand bits each to spend when ever they felt like it. The three ponies where walking from Sugarcube Corner where Luna had bought them all lunch, when she used her magic to assemble the two scooters their packages vanishing out of existence and passing the safety gear also now devoid of packaging to the two little ones.
"Why don't you ride your Scooters the rest of the way, you can give your mom's a surprise." She said to Scootaloo who smiled up at the Princess as she clipped her helmets strap into place under her chin. "And i'm sure your sister has never seen you ride a Scooter before Spike imagine the look on Twilight's face." Luna added to Spike as he got on his Scooter
and they began to move again Scootaloo and Spike always just slightly ahead of Luna.
As the castle came into view Spike dropped back to ask Luna something that had been bothering him all day. "Luna whenever i'm with Scootaloo you call me a little one, you don't really see me as a kid,... do you?" He asked hesitantly, almost fearing the answer.
"No Spike i merely call you little one so Scootaloo feels like she has someone closer to her age to confide in, even though you were born when twilight was seven, which makes you about fifteen in pony years and thirty in dragon years." she explained as she give him a light nuzzle "and don't worry your secret's safe with me" Luna cooed quietly before giving him a light peck on the lips and winking.
Spike just smiled he finally had a Marefriend, and it was the Princess of the night.
After quick embrace, Spike and Luna turned the corner to find Scootaloo looking at them with a knowing smirk "Don't worry your secrets safe with me too, if you can beat me home!" she exclaimed as she hopped onto her Scooter and propelled her self towards the castle of friendship like a torpedo, her wings buzzing loudly from the speed she was beating them at.
"Your on!" Spike shouted to the little orange blur in the distance, before zooming off after her himself.
Luna knowing she wouldn't be able to keep up with the two scooters speed decided to teleport ahead and drop off the other toys and gifts before sitting on the front steps with Twilight and Fluttershy both of whom had been given reprising looks since she told them about how much some of the things cost however her answer was quite plain and honest "Well somepony has to spoil them" to which all three began to laugh just as Spike and Scootaloo pulled up in front of the Step and dove onto them, giving the three of them the biggest embrace the two of them were able to, in spite of their smile size.
"WERE BACK!" they both exclaimed loudly before bursting into giggles, the three older mares soon following in their wake.
