Rainbow Dash's Revelation

by CapNTilfy

Don't Dream It's Over

Rainbow Dash opened her eyes to a blank dreamscape again. She looked around and felt like something was a bit off. Hmm... she thought, stroking her chin. Nothing was happening. Normally something, anything would have happened by now. I thought I mastered the art of lucid dreaming...guess I was wrong. Rainbow shrugged. Might as well go along for the ride. She walked around in the emptiness, hoping to find something or someone.

Minutes passed, and Rainbow felt antsy as she continued to find only nothingness. "Okay, Rainbow Dash...just stay calm. This is a dream. It's not real. Just keep moving forward, you're bound to come across something...right?" she said to herself as she continued forward.

A few minutes more, are all she could see was still nothingness. "What gives?" said Rainbow, on the verge of having a panic attack. "Where is everyone?!" She thought she heard a noise off in the distance. "Finally!" she said, eagerly running to its source. The noise was becoming a bit more distinct, but it was something she'd never heard before.

She shuddered with uncertainty, and decided to walk the opposite direction from whence it came. The noise was still behind her, as if it was following her. Rainbow felt a chill down her spine, and picked up her pace in hopes of leaving that fucked up noise behind. She didn't even want to to look behind herself, as just the thought of doing so actually frightened her.

She could still hear the noise, only now it was steadily getting louder, as though it were now chasing her. Rainbow gasped and broke into a sprint. Her dreamscape slowly began to change from a white void to a forest with no clear path. "I...I'm lost!" said Rainbow as she began to panic. The noise became louder as Rainbow frantically ran around all of the trees in her way. "Oh god oh god oh god" After a few minutes, the forest disappeared and Rainbow Dash found a door in front of her. Deciding not to take any chances with the noise, she opened the door.

Closing the door behind her, she found a hallway. She walked down the hallway to find a forked path. "No." said Rainbow. "No. No. NO. NO!" she shouted the last word. Each path before her had a smaller door that she would barely be able to squeeze through, with no noticeable differences between the three. Sweat was dropping down Rainbow's forehead as she agonized over the path she had to take. There was no way in hell she was turning back. Before she could think it over any further, the noise returned. "SHIT!" Going for broke, she chose the middle door. She squeezed her way through.

Rainbow Dash was now inside a tunnel just big enough for her to stand up in. Her breathing became heavy, then Rainbow almost shrieked when the tunnel itself hugged her body. She could barely hold back her tears as she struggled to move forward. She could see a light off in the distance, turning her tears of sheer terror into tears of hope. She scrambled towards the light at the noise continued to follow her. The light became brighter and brighter until it nearly blinded her, but she continued to press forward with her eyes closed.

Rainbow opened her eyes to find herself back in the white void. She hugged herself, trying her hardest to calm herself down. She took deep breaths, still feeling her adrenaline pumping through her system. "Okay..." she said, still shaking. "I think it might be time to wake up."

----------------------------------------------

Rainbow Dash woke up in her bed, sweating. It was still dark out and all the lights were off, even outside. Huh. Must've been a huge power outage or something. she thought.

"Who said anything about a power outage?" said a voice from within her room. Rainbow jumped and looked around, but all she could see was complete darkness...until she saw a pair of huge glowing eyes staring at her from her bedroom door. Rainbow nearly screamed as she could hear the noise from her dream off in the distance as she started to hyperventilate. The noise drew closer, and Rainbow Dash tried to force herself to calm down.

"Wh-wh-wh-wh-what d-d-d-d-do you w-w-w-want from m-m-m-me?!" Rainbow stammered, trying to reign in the terror she still felt clutching at her body. The voice that came from the glowing eyes remained silent. "Please! Tell me!" said Rainbow, desperately trying to calm herself. The noise became louder, and Rainbow Dash tried to jump out of her bed, but she was unable to move. She let out a whimper as she could feel tears streaming down her face. She closed her eyes tightly as a last ditch resort to free herself from her intense nightmare.

----------------------------------------------

Rainbow Dash woke up in her bed, sweating. It was now daytime and there were birds chirping in the background. "Hell no." she said. "I've seen enough horror to know where this might be going."

"Good for you." A voice whispered in her ear as the persisting noise returned. Rainbow Dash tried to shut her eyes, but an unseen force kept them open. Rainbow concentrated harder than she ever had before...

----------------------------------------------

Rainbow Dash opened her eyes and found herself in a wide field filled with flowers and a shining sun. "...Fuck this shit." Before she could take any action, she heard a thud directly behind her. She turned around and her eyes widened in shock. On the ground lay the lifeless body of Twilight Sparkle. "T...Twilight?" Rainbow said, feeling a lump in her throat. She looked up into the sky to see another body falling from a great height. "Hang on, I'm coming!" Rainbow said and reached for her geode...it was gone.

The body landed on the ground with the victim's neck twisted. "Rarity...no." Rainbow felt tears streaming down her face again. "I...I couldn't save her." Another body hit the ground with a sickening thud. Rainbow didn't want to turn around, but she couldn't help herself. Behind her was Fluttershy, smiling sadly with lifeless eyes, her body sprawled out. Rainbow's knees began to buckle as she saw Pinkie Pie's body hit the ground. Applejack soon followed suit. That only left... "Sunset! Wherever you are, stay away!!" She heard one more thud behind her. Rainbow Dash didn't have to look behind herself to know who it was. She tried to will herself to stay still, yet felt compelled to turn around regardless. Sure enough, there was Sunset Shimmer. Lying on the ground, hanging on by a thread of life. "Let me help you!" Rainbow said, trying to pick her up while barely keeping her emotions in check.

"D...don't worry...about me...Speedy." Sunset said weakly.

Rainbow gulped down a sob. "Don't you dare say that, Sunset Shimmer! I can and will get you out of here!"

"It's...already...too...la..." Sunset shuddered and remained motionless. Rainbow hugged Sunset tightly and wept, stroking her now departed friend's hair. The sky began to darken, and six ominous cloaked figures wearing masks descended from the sky. While her sorrow had not disappeared completely, a new emotion quickly overpowered it: rage. Rainbow Dash got a good look at her friends' killers, focusing on their masks.

One mask had several animals etched on it. Another mask had a plague doctor's mask etched on it. The third mask had a nightcap etched on it. The fourth was a giant question mark. The fifth was a gravestone, and the last was a king's crown which meant this one was the leader.

"You killed them. All six of them." Rainbow said, trembling with emotion. Before she could get another word in, the group struck at her.

----------------------------------------------

Rainbow Dash woke up in her bedroom again, but this time she knew for sure she was awake because the shriek she let loose had caused her parents to come running upstairs as fast as they could. They were finally home! Before either of Rainbow's parents could ask what happened, she shot towards both of them in the biggest, strongest hug she could muster and let out all of her emotions on the spot.

After Rainbow had calmed down, her parents asked her what happened. "I don't want to talk about it right now..." she said. Her parents understood and left her room. Rainbow took a deep breath and exhaled. "That was one fucked up dream..." She checked her phone for messages.

Hey girls, I'm back!- Sent by Sunset Shimmer

Rainbow Dash's eyes lit up. She sent a text back, realizing too late that she sent it to all of her friends.

Sunset...I need to talk to you. - Sent by Rainbow Dash

At roughly the same time, all her other friends had sent texts. Rainbow looked through them and her eyes widened. "Well shit...my text is crap compared to all this..."
