"Okay everyone we need to find Rarity and quickly before she does something drastic, so we'll split up and look at each corner of the city until we find her" Twilight said, putting on her goggles.
Everyone including Kate and Kassidy nodded in agreement with Twilight's plan. Thorn heart kept her distance around those two after what Kate did to her, she was just glad once this whole Genevieve situation was taken care of, Kate will be a distant memory.
Pinkie and Dash sped over to midtown, Twilight and Kassidy stayed in Metropolis downtown, Kate teamed up with Thorn heart to head for the docks to look for clues, and Fluttershy took Applejack over to the Diamond District.
Rarity wherever you are please explain why your doing this Twilight thought, wiping a single tear from her eyes.
Dash flew above Pinkie and looked around for any signs of Rarity but so far they found nothing, all of a sudden Pinkie abruptly stopped which caused Dash to do the same and drop down in front of her friend.
"What's wrong Pinkie?" Dash asked.
"Corruption" Pinkie said.
That's when she noticed the townspeople had been corrupted and transformed into some kind of shadow monster. One of the monsters spotted Dash and went for an attack but with quick thinking Zapp shocked the monster like a turkey, causing it to disappear into smoke. Pinkie speed punched the rest of them and they faded into pure smoke and nothing else, reverting back to normal humans with no memory of what happened.
"Huh that's weird, once I zapped one out of existence, all it did was fade into smoke. I wonder why that happened" Dash questioned, scratching under her chin.
"No idea Dashie but it would explain that" Pinkie responded, pointing to an oddly placed castle.
Dash started at it wide eyed, "Where the hell did that get placed here?!?"
Pinkie just shrugged. Both girls went over to the entrance but a force field pushed them both back a few feet.
"Of course she would have a force field" Dash said coldly, helping her friend to her feet.
"At least we found she is but we need to figure a way past this force field" Pinkie said.
While they took their time, low growling got into both of their ears as hell hounds appeared and began walking towards the rainbow haired storm girl and the pink speedster. Dash charged an electric circuit and punched one as hard as she could but it had no effect on it and the blow hit her back 10 times more and she crashed into Pinkie Pie.
"We should head back downtown" Pinkie suggested.
Dash nodded in agreement, both of them left the castle. Inside the castle, Nightmarity (as she goes by now) watched from a stain glassed window as Dash and Pinkie went away.
Nightmarity smirked before looking at a wedding photo of her and Spike before he sacrificed himself to save Rarity. A tear fell down her face then she set the photo down and got comfortable in her chair.
"This is going to be fun to watch" Nightmarity said to herself.
Thorn and Kate walked out of the portal, into the docks where Kate found Crimson dead at the bottom of the sea. Just a mere sight of what she had to see still left a bitter taste in her mouth.
"Is there something wrong Kate?" Thorn asked.
"No I am fine" Kate said sternly.
Thorn noticed something about to happen so she pulled Kate out of the way of a gunshot that could have hit Kate. Getting up, she spotted 4 squad cars of police officers and one SWAT armored truck, guns all drawn at them. Thorn noticed they were wearing some weird rattlesnake bracelets that were controlling them and their actions.
"Genevieve" Kate cursed out.
"What do we do Kate? We can't use our full power on them" Thorn asked confused on how they will fight them without causing any kind of serious injury.
Kate sent her magic to sun and she attacked the police officers, stunning them before burning the bracelets to nothing to ash. The SWAT team fired at Kate but Thorn shielded her then used a shockwave like attack to send them flying into the armored truck, Kate walked over to one of the rattlesnakes and crushed each one of them under her feet, not caring about their well being and Thorn could see it in Kate's eyes.
"Once I find that snake I will reduce her to nothing" Kate proclaimed, squishing a rattlesnake in her hands.
That would explain a lot of things about her Thorn contemplated.
"I do believe we have to report our findings to Twilight" Kate said, calming down.
Kate opened a portal and both magical girls walked through, meeting up with Dash and Pinkie Pie who look like they saw Hell and lived to tell about it.
"What did you both find?" Kate asked.
"We found Rarity in this odd looking castle down in midtown, it was surrounded by a force field" Dash began.
"Yea and it had these mean looking dogs walking around it and when Dashie tried to punch one, it didn't have any effect" Pinkie blurted out.
Kate facepalmed when Pinkie called the hellhounds "mean dogs" but then she forgot who she's dealing with.
"Those were hellhounds Pinkie, the only way you can defeat those little pests is with magic" Kate said with a little frustration in her voice.
Rainbow was about to shock Kate but Pinkie stopped her, they had bigger problems to deal with.
"Kate and I found one of this lamia's devices she used to control the police and SWAT teams" Thorn said as she pulled out a crushed but still usable rattlesnake bracelet.
"Whoa she used that?" Pinkie asked, her interest sparked.
This idiotic speedster acts like she has never seen mind control magic before Kate rolled her eyes.
"We should head inside and see if all this can link together" Thorn suggested.
Kate, Pinkie, and Rainbow nodded in agreement and all 4 of them walked back inside the base, then up to the observation deck.
Aria got thrown into a trashcan and struggled to stand, Genevieve grabbed her by her throat and lifted her up.
"Oh Aria you disappoint me, I gave you an opportunity to live out a dream to takeover this world but you chose to run away. So utterly pitiful" Genevieve stated.
Aria could feel her breathing slowing down as Jenna choked her more but all of a sudden, repulsor blasts hit the lamia, forcing her to release her grip on Aria and disappear quickly. Twilight dropped down while Kassidy took out the rest of the corrupted townspeople before walking over to Aria. She looked shaken up but was willing to leave with them without protest.
A memory of Twilight entered, the image of her rushing to the hospital to go see her brother Shining Armor and how his last emotion was facing death with a smile and Twilight mourning his death, even to this very day it still hurts. Just looking at Aria that way was something Twilight had to bear even when she did decide to become a hero, it took a broken man to open her eyes. Kassidy noticed this from Twilight but said nothing out of respect and privacy.
"We should get Aria some medical attention just in case" Kassidy proclaimed.
"Good idea" Twilight said, jetting over to the hospital.
The nurses and doctors helped Aria settle in and made her feel comfortable, that put a smile on Twilight's face even if it was a little while but she didn't care. Kassidy patted Twilight on the back before the both of them left the hospital so Aria could have the treatment she needs.
I'm just glad we were able to help her Twilight felt proud of what she did.
The castle doors opened to reveal Genevieve slithering inside as the hellhounds perked up but didn't attack her. She made herself known in the foyer where Nightmarity sat on her throne.
"The lamia siren of legendary tales, do what do I owe the pleasure?" Nightmarity asked.
"I came into this wonderful castle to offer a team up of sorts to combat those heroes" Genevieve offered, bowing in respect.
Nightmarity got up from her seat and walked up to the lamia, her coils wrapped around her softly. Rarity bestowed a soft yet passionate kiss to the lamia.
"I accept your offer" Nightmarity said.
Genevieve kissed Rarity deeply, pulling her body closer to her.
