//------------------------------// // A Trip Perhaps? // Story: Puerto Caballo // by BrilliantCreativity //------------------------------// Fluttershy watched as objects, left and right fell from the shelves and were thrown around the room. Angel had started a rucuss that his care-taker was having a difficult time managing. Angel had wanted a cherry on top of his Rabbit Sundae but one of the birds managed to swoop down and take it which enable the enraged rabbit to throw objects at the bird but then accidentally hit one of the weasels and so forth. "Please everyone...just calm down! Angel get off the counter, stop throwing the carrots!" Fluttershy screeched as loudly as her quiet voice could muster. Oh dear. She thought. This had been happening for the past few weeks; her animals would get frustrated with something that usually had to do with Angel bunny and then they'd proceed to destroy her cottage. Fluttershy's eyes darted back and forth. She could feel the stress piling and building. "Every creature STOP!" she yelled, surprisingly loud. Each animal ceased its current activity to turn and look at the pegasus. "That is quite enough. You will all calm down and clean everything up this instant," she demanded. She heard an arguable squeak from Angel but instead of yelling or saying anything she just looked at him with her well-known stare and watched as the bunny immediately stopped. "Goodness gracious," she sighed. "I apologize for yelling, I just...I just got a bit stressed is all," she said. The animals nodded and hung their heads, feeling bad for making Fluttershy feel this way. She was a good care-taker and didn't deserve their rambunctious attitudes. Fluttershy spent the rest of her afternoon cleaning up with the help of her animals, who had gratefully settled down. After all the mess was cleaned up, all the creatures had calmed down for a nap. Fluttershy sighed happily as her cottage was back to its usual, clean self. She sat down on the green coach in her living room, the one that Discord always slept on whenever he came over or stayed the night. Fluttershy hadn't actually seen her draconequus friend for a while and wondered if he was currently busy. It wasn't too late and Discord didn't really have a set schedule. The buttercream pegasus walked up to her bedroom and grabbed a necklace with a key from the bedside table and hung it around her neck. Discord had given it to her so she could have the ability to visit him whenever she wanted. Fluttershy grabbed the key and pushed it into the air, creating an invisible door and keyhole, which opened to her delight. She couldn't see anything past the door frame except for a white glowing light. She took a deep breath and walked through, trying to remind herself that it was safe. When she reached the other side, it led her straight to Discord's front door. Convenient. She thought. Fluttershy reached out and knocked on her friend's door. She waited a while before two yellow eyes with red pupils appeared through the door to look at her. Fluttershy had gotten used to Discord's shenanigans and use of magic so she wasn't too surprised. The door opened and Discord greeted his dear friend. "Why Fluttershy, been missing your old pal Discord have you? Frankly I'm hurt you didn't come sooner but no matter," he said, shaking away the middle part, causing Fluttershy to feel somewhat guilty. "I'm sorry Discord, truly I am, I've just been so busy and such," she apologized. Discord patted his friend's head, "Tut tut dear Fluttershy. All is forgiven, do come in to my humble abode," he welcomed, giving an elegant bow as he allowed his pegasus friend to enter his home of chaos. Fluttershy smiled, happy to see a different scenery than her own home. She walked over to one of his coaches and sat down before sprawling herself out across it and grabbing one of the pillows, bringing it close to her chest as if to snuggle it. She closed her eyes for a few brief seconds, enjoying the chance to finally relax, but when she opened them she was face to face with Discord, who was eyeing her questionably. Fluttershy could feel the heat rise to her cheeks as she buried herself deeper into the cushion. "Comfy?" Discord asked, amused towards his best friend's behavior. Fluttershy gave a sheepish nod. "Stressful day?" Discord wondered aloud. Fluttershy let out a deep sigh and nodded once more. "Angel was just stirring up some trouble at the cottage again but-" "That rabbit," Discord grumbled, interrupting Fluttershy, "He should learn to control his temper." Fluttershy giggled and raised a questioning eyebrow to the Lord of Chaos. "What?" he asked defensively. Fluttershy smiled and just shook her head. "Nothing." Fluttershy, once again, stretched her body across Discord's sofa. Discord raised his lion paw and began massaging her back, to which the buttercream pegasus groaned in delight, which also, for some reason made Discord feel somewhat...weird? He quickly shook it off. He was just glad that Fluttershy was relaxing. "My dear, you need a vacation, some time off from your daily endeavors," Discord proclaimed, feeling the tension and knots in Fluttershy's back. "Mhhm, maybe. But I don't know if I could leave the animals for-" "Get Spike or Applejack to do it, aren't they both good with animals and such? Or you could just hire somepony to check on your pets on a timed schedule. Either way, I believe that a trip is way overdue for you my dear." Fluttershy thought about it for a second. "I'll sleep on it. There's still much I'd have to sort out, and I don't even know where I'd go." Discord nodded slowly. "Well if it's any consolation, I'll try to help in any way I can." Fluttershy smiled to her friend's comment. "Thank you," she said quietly, feeling tired. She allowed her eyelids to fall softly in front of her teal eyes. It felt like two minutes but somewhere in the amount of twelve hours she had fallen asleep, Discord had taken her back to the cottage and laid her in her bed. When she woke up the sun was just peaking through her curtains and she felt welly rested. Fluttershy looked around her room, her eyes falling upon some sea shells on the desk against the opposite wall. She was thinking and putting pieces together, pondering was Discord had said the past night. Quite suddenly, Fluttershy leapt out of bed and trotted down the stairs. All the animals were just waking up, but still laying down in their beds. After she quickly filled up their food bowls, she rushed out the door towards Sweet Apple Acres. A few hours later, Fluttershy had returned to the cottage and was now packing her suitcase. The animals all turned to look at her in confusion. When she had finished, there was only one thing left to do. "Discord?!" she called, somewhat loudly in means to summon him. She waited a few seconds before her draconequus friend appeared in front of her. "You called my de-" he stopped mid-sentence, eyeing the bag next to his pink haired friend. "What is this?" he asked, stroking his goatee. Fluttershy smiled widely, "I asked Applejack if she would watch the animals but she was busy so I got Spike to do it for a few gems. I packed and already have the destination but umm...there's one more thing..." she silenced herself, looking towards Discord who seemed somewhat impressed that she had managed to pull all this off within a few hours. Slowly, Fluttershy pulled out a train and boat ticket from her bag and handed them towards Discord. "I umm...remember that time when I was leaving to Yak Yakistan and you asked if you and I were going on a vacation, and you mentioned this place called..." "Puerto Caballo," Discord finished, recalling the memory. "Yes and well, I figured that I didn't really want to go by myself..." "Oh of course. Let's see, there is Pinkie Pie, though she might be too much of a handful...Rainbow Dash, but she might want to do too many sports...hmm...Rarity would be a bit of a bore, no offense..I can't see Applejack as being the beach pony type and Twilight...well I mean, she's pretty busy with all her royal-" "No, no. Discord you misunderstand. I wasn't planning on going with either of those ponies, I want to go with-" "Starlight perhaps? Maybe even Cadence? Oh wait a minute, it's Treehugger isn't it? Ooh, what about the Smoo-" "Discord!" she said sternly, recieving his attention. "I want to go with you...if you accept my invitation," she asked, finally getting it out. She waited a few seconds before looking at Discord's face. It seemed to be a mixture of surprised, happy, confused and thought. "You don't have to say yes...I was just-" Discord put a finger to her lips to silence her before looking her in the eyes and then standing up to his full hight and raising his hand in a posing kind of way. "It would be an honour, me dear, to take this trip with you. I accept your proposal." Fluttershy blushed and gave a wide smile before wrapping her hooves around his neck in a hug. "Thank you Discord. I really didn't want to go alone and I just thought that...well after everything that has happened, you might want a break too." Discord smiled, fond of her kindness. "You never cease to amaze me my dear," muttered. He took a breath as the two of them parted, "So when do we depart?" he asked. "Tomorrow morning we go to the Train Station which will take us to the docs where we will take a boat to Puerto Caballo," she explained. "Ah I see. Exactly when do we have to arrive at the Train Station?" Fluttershy paused, thinking. "At exactly eight o'clock," she answered. Discord seemed to groan, "But that's so early," he whined. Fluttershy chuckled towards her friend's antics, "It won't be that bad." "Hmm, if you say so."
