Chapter 23

Princess Celestia didn't know where she is or how she came to the floating stone platform she's on. All she knows is that Sunset is there on the other side, still as a human. Both of them just stared at each other for what seems to be eons. Each of them stared at each other, with all that happen to them in the past playing out in their minds. What would they say and what will they do.

"Sorrowful," Sunset sang. (1)

"Regretful," Celestia sang.

"All of those years that I lost," Sunset sang.

"Memory comes at a cost," Celestia sang.

"The one I trusted let me down," Sunset sang.

"Everything I tried to hide in my past," Celestia sang.

"It's too late to make it okay," Sunset sang.

"Right and wrong changes with," both sang.

"Time," Celestia sang.

"Every old lie that's told," Sunset said.

"Every new truth revealed," Celestia sang.

"Love and loss," Sunset sang.

"I've known my share," Celestia sang.

"We were inseparable," Sunset sang.

"I had raised you," Celestia sang.

"How can I trust you again?" Sunset sang.

"What will become of us?" both sang.

"Can she learn to forgive me?" Celestia sang.

"And suddenly she threw me out," Sunset sang.

"Will she be victorious?" Celestia sang.

"Was all our love for not?" both sang.

"At least she's safe," Celestia sang.

"How could she turn away from me...," Sunset sang.

"Sorrowful," Sunset sang.

"What I'd give to take it all," both sang.

"Back, so that I won't let you go," Celestia sang.

"Back, so that I won't get hurt," Sunset sang.

"Pride clouded my mind," Celestia sang.

"A foolish wish," Sunset sang. "I was blinded, I believed those pretty lies."

"So how can I fix this?" Celestia sang.

"And how can get away?" Sunset sang.

"I would give almost anything," Celestia sang.

"I wish I didn't need to go and back," Sunset sang.

"I know that I messed it up but," Celestia sang.

"I don't deserve this," both sang.

"I want to forget you," Sunset sang.

"But it doesn't work that way," Celestia sang.

"Sorrowful," Sunset sang.

"We both know sorrow and regret," both sang.

"You denied me my destiny," Sunset sang.

"I'm only trying to do what is best for you," Celestia sang.

"Well, I never asked for this, I never wanted this, all that I want is to be your daughter," Sunset sang.

"Look into your heart," Celestia sang with hope in her eyes as she walks to Sunset. "You'll see that I'm..."

"Just get away from me, please cease your empty plea," Sunset sang waving her arm causing Celestia to back away as she stared at the hate in Sunset's eyes. "You're always trying to be somepony else."

Sunset looks down as she walks backwards from Celestia.

"Now I realize," Sunset sang as she open her eyes starring at Celestia with eyes that lost hope. "I'm all alone.

"But I'm right here by your side!" Celestia sang.

"But all that you've done is lied!" Sunset sang.

"Please don't turn away," Celestia sang.

"There's nothing that you can say!" Sunset sang.

"You cannot understand, you're always resistant," both sang.

"Just apologizing," Celestia sang.

"Stop apologizing," Sunset sang.

"I feel something missing," both sang.

"I just want my daughter back!" Celestia sang.

"I just want to go away!" Sunset sang.

"Why can't we just get," Celestia sang.

"Why can't you leave me?" Sunset sang.

"Along?" Celestia sang.

"ALONE!" Sunset shouted drawing her magic transforming herself into her magical form.

Celestia step back seeing the dark look on Sunset's face.

"I'm not the little pony you remember. You saw to that when you threw me out. I'm not even a pony anymore or can ever be one again. I destroyed the mirror that would turn me back. I didn't just do that to stop the Changelings but so that I would never have to see you again," Sunset said giving a sad smile. "But the Changelings are now attacking... the only way to stop them is to go back to the world I once called home. That I once thought that... I had a mother."

"My daughter, please," Celestia said.

"I'm not your daughter. I'm just a tool for you, don't you remember!" Sunset said. "But at least you have Twilight's pony counterpart who will do anything you want and will always obey you like you wanted me to be."

"I want to make things right. Making you my daughter and heir," Celestia said.

"A non pony being the official heir. You always bowed to the demands of the nobles and never do anything to that would scare your ponies. How well you think that they would react to me? A human who isn't anything like them and has blood on her hands?" Sunset asked.

"It doesn't matter what they think. You are my daughter," Celestia said.

"If I was you wouldn't had thrown me out," Sunset said as she disappears.

Celestia could only stare where her daughter once stood before lowing her head. She cried full of sorrow and regret of what she failed to do when she had the chance. She disappeared to as she went back where she came from.

"Lovely show," Discord said floating high above having watched the little reunion thanks to him linking their sleeping minds together.
